I know there have probably been other threads asking this, but really .... why?

Why would you say he is a "man of the people?"'(Public school educated stockbroker / multi millionaire)

Genuinely, what appeals about him?

If you voted Brexit, have you forgotten that he resigned from public office that day after his Leave campaign won?

It's an anonymous forum, so please be honest.

Do explain how having majority black and Asian towns like Birmingham has biologically strengthened "us".

Is it this percentage of people that has strengthened "us"? Are we all strengthened biologically because of those people? How does that work biologically? Osmosis? I will become stronger because there's a Somalian in the town? It all just gets stupider.

Mixed or Multiple Ethnic Groups:2.9% (1.7 million)

I said diversity as a strength is a basic biological fact. Look it up if you don't believe me. Not sure what the racist ranting is for. Very unedifying.

You are utterly deluded.
EVERYONE can see that immigration is a problem right now. Not just here, across Europe and the broader world. Schengen countries are even (illegally) closing their borders. It’s all kicking off in South Africa, and in the U.S., well…

Calm down. What happened to you that you're so scared?

Personally, I think people are just so pissed off with Labour and Conservatives promising much, delivering little and screwing things up along the way, they are just looking for something, someone different. Someone who doesn't spout the usual drivel.

Believe it or not, I'm not a Reform supporter, I'm actually Labour through and through. BUT, I can understand people just wanting something different to happen politically because, let's be honest the last 29 years have been beige.

I entirely disagree that the last 29 years have been beige. Austerity and Brexit have been seismic, and led us to the point where racists can openly post on parenting websites that not wanting Pakistani people in the UK is an acceptable viewpoint. In other words, on the brink of fascism.

Their sanctimony is a powerful drug. They are addicted to it.

Straight from the fascist playbook. Your copy must be well-thumbed.

ClarkeandNewman · 11/07/2026 17:50

Out of interest, the proportion of the Clacton electorate who didn't vote for Mr Farage in 2024 was c 75%. Some cause for hope there.

NeverLookInTheMirror · 11/07/2026 17:51

People are so fixated on imigration that they’ve lost sight of everything else.

I assume that nobody on this thread who has imigration at the heart of their thinking is anything other than a white male?

No women of childbearing age I assume?

No disabilities in the family?

Everyone is straight?

Because if you are any of those things I assume you’re happy to be voting for the scrapping of the equality act?

Forget maternity leave? Flexible working? Forget access to work if you’re a disabled person.

Only straight white men will benefit from the scrapping of the equality act, and here we have people wanting to vote for this policy in their droves. Just as long as those immigrants are got rid of.

"Stupid/ [ill] educated" people are entitled to vote.

Why are you assuming that people who are not well educated are 'stupid?'

What an ignorant, narrow-minded remark.

Thanks for proving what centric and right-leaning people are saying about the left. Just can't stop yourselves from mocking and deriding people who think differently to you can you?

ExBert80 · 11/07/2026 17:57

A lot of people think that the Labour and Tory have had a good go, but in the last few years have ballsed up so much. Illegal immigration and asylum is a big problem, it has brought with it so many issues and costs the country a lot of money it can ill afford. Same across Europe. It is dividing the nation, there is two tier justice going on, people play the equality card as their get out of jail free card, and authorities like the police/social services are all complicit. We are being mugged off, and if you say anything, you are called racist. That is why you get the thugs like Tommy Robinson - they are extremes, but that seems the only way to get anyone to take notice. So, do I think Reform will be any better, no not really. However the definitions of an idiot isn’t in this case a Reform voter but someone who continues to vote Labour or Tory and expecting a different result. For a lot of people Reform is a protest vote, a last ditch saloon. I would say most of Reform’s voters will be reluctant but have no place else to place their vote.

Somebody from Thailand coming to work and live here is an immigrant.Billionaire Harborne has moved to Thailand (hardly essential in his business) and that's ok because he's an expat. He has no wish to live in the Uk but still feels the urge to meddle in our politics. What exactly does he think he's getting for his £5mill.

Now how do you know my political leanings? It's almost as though you're presuming things because otherwise your facile point would collapse faster than a house of cards in a hurricane.

Expand your thinking! Consider possibilities.

If your head isn't spinning with immigration hyperbole, then I'm afraid you are now to be deemed 'the left' @ClarkeandNewman You absolutely must be. You are also clearly one of "The Establishment" as well. Please switch to GB News and toe the line.

If I could thank this 100 times over I would!!! Put so much better than I could ever put it. Best post on here!

The left simply cannot see that calling people who want to vote for Reform 'thick' and racist gammon etc, is achieving nothing. Except pushing people further right.

I also know some left leaning people (under 40,) who, whilst they had good A level results and have a university degree, are not very knowledgeable about a lot of things, and they have very few life skills and coping skills. They are narrow-minded and blinkered, they have very little life experience, they think a woman can have a penis, and they think any white person over 50 is a whopping flag-shagging racist.

Some of these people don't know jack shit about anything. I know some who still live with their folks in their 30s - never left home yet, (and some are bankrolled by mum and dad,) and they think because they have a degree, and are 'left wing' that they are superior to anyone who is NOT left wing, and who never went to university. Plenty of lefties didn't go to university of course, but the ones who did, seem to be the worst offenders for deriding and berating anyone who doesn't think like them ...

And it's not just people who went to University and are in the 30s (or 20s,) some people who are older (40s, 50s, 60s) who went to University and are left wing also have this bizarre idea that they are superior to people who didn't go (and more intelligent.) Whilst a university degree was harder to get pre 21st century, it's still absolute bollocks that people with a degree are smarter and more intelligent than those without.

And you say you are not a reform voter? Hmm. I don’t know why people just don’t try to be honest.

ClarkeandNewman · 11/07/2026 18:21

Maybe. I think she was one of the ones saying she doesn’t support Farage, but then posted as if she does. And she got so excited by that pro-Farage poster’s list that I was surprised she wasn’t one of his supporters.

FlatTyred · 11/07/2026 18:28

I can’t support Farage as I am the daughter of the kind of immigrant people hate. Brown Muslims. Incidentally, my parents were paid by the British government in the sixties to come over here to fill in gaps in the NHS. Though the promises did not materialise and they were not given the jobs they were promised, and experienced racism, but whatever. They worked tirelessly until they retired, but are now seen as a problem by many on the right.

Anyway, I did watch Farage on TV once being asked a question and he did seem to answer it openly and honestly. It did feel quite refreshing as he did not answer like a typical politician. So I can see why he might appeal to some. Not me though.

Human history is the history of migration @Swiftie1878 . It's inevitable. Those who can, will seek opportunities wherever they can. Nations are not static, but constantly evolving. Climate change will probably mean we all have to migrate within the next 100 years anyway. As in any wave of migration, some will adapt better than others.

There you go, the grandiose sweeping stupidity.

Not me; I’m waiting for the proper parties to wake up and smell the Colombian coffee.
