You will win the undying respect and gratitude of the whole nation if you use your votes to kick Farage out and elect Count Binface as your local MP.

And I don't think you will regret it. Underneath the silliness, there is an intelligent man with a genuine commitment to democracy. He might be a joker, but I believe he would serve you well if elected. And definitely better than Farage.

Tbh I reckon I’d vote for him. Just because I’m so oissed off with the craven, self serving arrogance if so many in politics.

LuckyHazelFox · 09/07/2026 19:38

I agree. However, when the sneery left are hoping Binface wins, it really does mock the whole outrage at Farage, the other populist.

GCAcademic · 09/07/2026 19:39

He wants to bring back Ceefax. That’s got to be a vote winner. I miss it every day.

GCAcademic · 09/07/2026 18:37

What, no naice ham in Clacton? Are you telling me they use toilet brushes, too?

No naice ham in Clacton. There isn't even a Waitrose. Even Butlins decided it was a bit too rough to open there.

Quelle horreur.

Yeah because we all know the general public will do what some randomer on mumsnet says 🙄

Well, they do what Farage says so we're not talking about the sharpest tools in the box here.

Frinton - on - sea is nice and more upmarket than Walton or Clacton. There are some lovely houses in parts of these towns. I’m sure that pockets have old money around.
It’ll never be the Riveria or as nice as Devon , but people move out there from the east end and love it by the sea. It has its problems, but doesn’t everywhere!

Totally agree with you about the nice parts, but you can’t compare a town with the county of Devon. Although I recently came back from a short break in Devon and some parts are very deprived.

The constituency includes Thorpe le Soken which has a spa...

Thorpe-le-Soken is lovely, but the spa is overrated and overpriced crap. But I get your point!

the80sweregreat · 09/07/2026 19:49

There was a Butlins in Clacton. Closed down a long time ago.

You can't beat a good Butlins for lighthearted fun. Last one I went to was Minehead Somerset mid 90s. Hope to catch you on the world cup thread.

the80sweregreat · 09/07/2026 19:54

Oh yes, I’ll be watching the football later on

Thepeopleversuswork · 09/07/2026 19:54

I loathe Farage with a passion and it would make my year if Binface won… but it never ends well when people try to involve themselves in the electoral issues of another area.

This sort of post is music to the ears of Reform supporters: gives them an opportunity to rail at the “metropolitan elites”.

Let’s let the people of Clacton crack on and make their own decisions.

The worst thing for Farage would be if no one paid any attention and just lets him have election and then pop up with a result in 6 weeks. No national coverage, no discussion in parliament, just him and bin, the people of Clacton.

Fair. Although it probably wouldn’t go down the same way for the op as on mumsnet.

Why? They majority of the electorate didn't vote for Farage. They might be feeling positive towards Binface. Although of course FB etc. is crawling with Reform bots.

Binface is more about encouraging folk to engage with the electoral process. Although 99p 99s is arguably a populist policy. 🍦

As is making cyclists who break the highway code ride unicycles. That would be a vote winner. Although apparently 105% of the population in Clacton are on PIP so it may be seen as too ableist.

and Jaywick, the most deprived part of the UK.

I know, my cousin works in Jaywick. My mum used to. I was just replying to the idea that "no one from Mumsnet" (which I take to mean "no one middle class") would be voting in Clacton, by joking that there is a spa in TlS, a spa often being touted as a peak Mumsnet activity.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 09/07/2026 20:17

No people should vote for Farage. Then he can be properly investigated over the £5,000,000 he was given.
The constitutes then need to put constant pressure on him to run surgeries, which is part of his job description.

Happier to do it here. I hate FB and X. As I said, too many bots. Not quite so many here on MN.

I just assumed you meant a SPA like a Londis.

I’m more annoyed that tax payers money is being used for this and the same with the Makerfield by election too. We are constantly told ‘ there’s no money ‘ yet millions are being found for this.

Reform are funding the election...

Like anyone on mumsnet lives in Clacton

I grew up there. Maybe it’s changed somewhat since then but for sure there will be MNers in the constituency.

How? You can’t privately fund elections. I’d like to see the receipts to show how he’s going to give the money back.
