To be utterly pissed off and fed up with this weather….

I know there’s already been loads of threads about it, so apologies for being so original but OH MY GOD!

I’m not usually a particularly whiny person and I don’t ever remember being particularly troubled by hot ( or cold!) weather before but honestly, I feel like I’m going lose my mind!

Maybe it’s combined with hot flushes or something because no one else I know seems to be struggling that much.

I was fine at first; just thought it would only be a couple of days we’d have to suck it up. We
got the fans out, ate a criminal amount of ice lollies and did as little as possible. But now it feels like it’s been a couple of weeks of non stop over 28 degree heat every day where I live. It’s also unbearably humid. Trying to clean the house is grim. I feel like I’m swimming through treacle and my brain is mush. I can’t concentrate on work, I can’t sleep at night. I am constantly uncomfortable and the house has now heated up to such an extent that no room is even close to cool.

I realise this probably sounds ridiculous but I can’t really go out in this heat. I mean I can go to work (though my office has no air con and is also grim) and I can manage the school run and the supermarket etc, but I can’t go for a walk, or run about at the park with the kids. I definitely wouldn’t want go out in town or mooch about the shops, or eat out etc. I don’t want go in the garden because it’s so hot. The swimming pool is lovely but the changing rooms are beyond the pale. There’s no way I could cope with a day out at the zoo or a theme park with the kids.

I’ve never been so hot or so uncomfortable in my life! I have lots of loose, comfortable clothes, summer shoes etc but I still feel like I want to rip my skin off!

Is it just me? Weather forecast seems to be saying 10 more days of heat wave and I could cry!

The concentration involved in putting it on makes me hotter and sweat more. Ive tried it in the distant past Top floor flats can be 10c hotter than outside

I don't think it was really. Admittedly I was a young thing the and much better able to cope, but my memory of it was that it ws far less oppressive. Mind you, I was lucky enough to live somewhere where there wasn't a water shortage, I guess my perception would be different if I'd had to queue up at a local sandpipe.

I agree with you OP. I used to love hot weather such as this (I’m in the SE), but this year it’s making me lose my actual mind. I work outside all day with adults with LD, and it has been nightmarish. Today was like walking through treacle. The week before last I nearly fainted. I can’t sleep properly and it’s just energy sapping.

I don’t know what’s happened to me, it must be a meno thing? But I’m actually longing for some rain!

Im in stirling and im fucked off with the shitty rain and cold here...away to luton/Knebworth on friday and I am looking forward to a few days of heat...by monday I will be moaning and wanting back to the cool air in Scotland, although i did read we were to have another heatwave. Canny win. Greetin when its cold and greetin when its hot! 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😆

I actually live in Knebworth! It’s going to be 34 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, 31 on Friday .

Yep. Same in NE Scotland. I had to put long trousers, socks and a hoodie on today.

Just a little tiny heatwave would be nice. I don't want 34 degrees, maybe 24.

@socks1107 can i ask which primer you use? And does your face get sweaty on the commute? Because my face is dripping so much when I walk in this heat that I can’t imagine a primer will keep my make up in place but I’m happy to try any recommendations!

Have a break & come up to Scotland, the weather has been and still is extremely windy,wet and generally horrible, you'll be longing for that heatwave in no time!

Im not sure if you can, il need to look up the guidelines again...I do have a massive picnic blanket to chill on, gorgeous Marc jacobs shades and custom iron maiden high tops. (Im not the iron maiden fan, its my husband but I couldn't resist them 🤭🤣) I shall pass them on to my 11 year old daughter who is a fan when her feet get big enough.

I use super goop tinted primer and that’s it, no foundation. And a bit of Erborian cc cream as concealer. What makes it stick is pressed translucent powder over the top in my opinion. I use one by rodial but there are loads out there. And then some setting spray-for this I use Charlotte Tilbury . And I have a neck fan on full blast when I walk anywhere at all!

Glasgow here and it’s been pissing down for the last 2 weeks solidly. I have the lights on and I did put the heating on last week. I’m so over it.

Dh is pals with the manager of iron maiden through work. Again, if only I’d known-I’ve never met anyone that actually likes them!
