To ask about totally inappropriate behaviour at wedding?

Notallthatx · 06/07/2026 12:50

Was at a seemingly lovely wedding at the weekend. Beautiful setting and lovely ceremony.

One of my friends was chief bridesmaid and she had put so much effort into making the day perfect for the happy couple. But she started to drink a lot after the ceremony and by the end of dinner she was very tipsy and all over the singer from the wedding band. They had been playing some acoustic songs throughout the day and she kept making requests. It was obvious she fancied him.

Later on, one of the other guys from the band was lovely and asked if I had seen their singer because they were setting up for their evening set. I mentioned that my friend was also missing so went to look for them together. We joked that maybe they had eloped or something.

But nothing prepared me for what I was about to witness. Behind the outdoor toilets, my friend was down on her knees giving the singer from the band oral. I was mortified and the other guy from the band told me his friend had done this a few times. We are not even sure if they seen us and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up with my friend.

On the up side, the other guy from the band was really sweet and we danced a bit later that night and swapped numbers.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever witnessed at a wedding?

If they were all over the age of consent who made you a nun?

Notallthatx · 06/07/2026 21:20

Radicalrach · 06/07/2026 20:57

So you thought you’d throw her out to mumsnet practically imploring posters to bitch about her (kind of backfired!)? Nice

Read my OP, that wasn’t my intention. Mumsnet ain’t exactly shy at ripping people to shreds but on this one, they’ve gone for me.

And as one poster previously said, many will be the same types having a go at women for wearing revealing shorts. Very messed up.

You started a thread on AIBU on mumsnet

and you have relentlessly argued against the vast majority basically begging people to agree with you that your “good friend” was disgusting to have done this

Notallthatx · 06/07/2026 21:22

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 06/07/2026 21:01

See OP you wanted to rip the band members clothes off but restrained yourself.

Your friend didn't.

The only difference between you is that you will be giving your band guy a blow job slightly later than she did hers.

Not exactly, whatever we get up to will be behind closed doors and not at a public event.

That’s your incorrect interpretation. Again, you’ve misread my OP.

You started a thread
in AiBU of all places
asking mumsnet whether we agreed your “good friend” had been “totally inappropriate”

and then you have proceeded to argue with the many posters not wholeheartedly agreeing with you

Agree.

He probably took you to find his pal in the hopes you would do the same thing.

Its the middle of wedding season so Id say he is having fun and keeping you on a thread.

I also reckon he is riddled.

MySneakyLion · 06/07/2026 21:45

Is she single? Then it is none of your fucking business. She can nosh off whoever she likes.

You sound ridiculously dramatic, prudish and judgemental.

Chetsometime · 06/07/2026 21:50

Isn't this a scene from a comedy film?

TFImBackIn · 06/07/2026 20:05

I can see the point in a BJ if it's going to be reciprocated or at the very least if sex is going to be involved, but I just can't see what's in it for a woman to do this to a random stranger - what does she get out of it?

That said, I think it's really bad behaviour on her part, OP. It sounds as though drinking leads to her making bad decisions.

It’s a turn-on. It’s fun. It’s naughty. Women like that thrill just as much as men. Well some do. A lot of the Emily Bishop types on here seem to only have sex in their M&S nighties in the confines of their 1940s bedrooms.

Namesuggestion101 · 06/07/2026 21:56

Yes it is a bit inappropriate to be sucking off someone/be sucked off by someone at a wedding, especially if kids might be running around, but they very likely didn't think they would be seen. I definitely don't think she is in anyway a slag though, just makes bad location choices when drunk. Literally just the location that is a bit of an issue.

I can't judge anyone because I had sex with my ex in the woods at his father's wedding. We walked back in during the speeches. Very disrespectful.

It was not me. I was replying to the A.I bot (poster)

Im not a bot if you were talking about me. I was so confused by a poster saying the 2 were married and cheating that after reading the op 3 times and couldn't see where they had got that information I asked ai if it was there and I was just not seeing it.

It turned out the poster wasnt talking about the op, but another post that I had replied to. It would have been helpful for them to explain what they meant, but they preferred to be 'clever' and wouldn't answer for a few questions.

So not a bot. And not slop either.

HTH Hmm

BeachTimeIsBliss · 06/07/2026 22:45

One wedding I went to had a no kids rule...except for one very precocious 10 year old who thought she was "grown up". Anyway, said child kept trying to join in with the adults who were getting drunker and a bit rowdier and ended up getting jostled and bit her tongue. Her answer to this was to storm out of the venue and walk the streets, which then meant everyone not me had to go and search for her.

thegrandoleduchess · 06/07/2026 22:52

@Moveoverdarlin "It’s a turn-on. It’s fun. It’s naughty. Women like that thrill just as much as men."

Would women be as thrilled to contract a STI because of performing oral sex on a strange guy? OP has already said this band member has form for this, so this behaviour is just risky and plain stupid.
It can transmit herpes, HPV, gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia and there's nothing 'fun' about any of that.

Travsmam · 06/07/2026 23:17

Oh god……at my wedding a friend who I’d not seen in years was invited with her husband whom I’d never met. Great wedding then at the beginning of the evening do when others were turning up she was absolutely hammered……they both were. About 7.30pm she was giving him a lap dance then got onto the dance floor with him……no one else really up dancing just yet and was really dirty dancing with him…….really dirty dancing……simulating blow jobs etc. My new husband’s elderly great aunt asked if I’d paid them to get people up dancing 🤣🤣. Anyway…….she puked under a table, blew her nose on the table cloth and got a taxi out of there at about 9pm crying her eyes out 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Whether he’s a strange guy or a guy you’ve been seeing two months, unless you force him to take an STI test before embarking on a sexual relationship it makes no difference.

Chief bridesmaid could suck off lead singer behind the toilets and be fine for all those diseases. But the right honourable OP could give the bass player a blowie in three months time and be just as likely to catch something.

I was replying to the poster that asked why a woman would perform oral sex on a man if she got nothing in return. I answered honestly and said because it’s nice, many women enjoy it, as this thread has proved. Obviously if you catch a disease it’s unfortunate, but only engaging in sex acts with people you have known for a long time doesn’t prevent that.

thegrandoleduchess · 06/07/2026 23:45

@Moveoverdarlin "Whether he’s a strange guy or a guy you’ve been seeing two months, unless you force him to take an STI test before embarking on a sexual relationship it makes no difference."

What's all this "forcing" about ?

I would hope that any guy I was considering a sexual relationship with would want to practice safe sex, otherwise he wouldn't be the guy for me.

I've been to a couple of weddings where one of the couple was an Honourable or had some other minor title. There was no lack of shagging or general drunken questionableness. The UC get one another's knickers down just as much. Someone (well two someones) shagged in the haha at one on the ancestral estate😀.

I haven’t shagged in a haha for years. I think that was the last time I heard the word used.

Sounds totally par for the course. 😂 My mum’s 50 year old friend nearly went home with dh’s 27 year old cousin at our wedding. And my maid of honour (maid, so obviously single so more power to her!) took dh’s friend back to the cottage where she was staying with my family and shagged him on the sofa after my mum and stepdad went to bed. My lovely 70 year old auntie (who is also single and was travelling around Europe for 6 weeks after, so came prepared!) chucked a condom down the stairs to them. 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Christ, this is a weird post on so many levels.

A blow job is akin to 'prostitute action'? What on earth is wrong with you that you think a completely normal sex act is 'prostitute action'?

You do realise that there are plenty of things he might have already done for her before the blow job?

Why do you think it's unimaginable that she might enjoy giving him a blow job anyway?

I'm such a prude

You don't say.

Dunno about other MNers, but my DH gives me a pearl necklace every time I give him a BJ.

I loves that I do...

You’re the type of person to start a thread on AIBU about your “totally inappropriate” “good friend” desperately trying (in vain) to get posters to basically bad mouth her.

He will soon enough see through you.

How old are you?
