But with all the shit in the world going on, and true escapism is anyone else thoroughly excited about the "potential" TS/TK nuptials?

I find I'm far too invested! Pathetic to be so interested? Very possibly but I don't care!

I will watch a film of Swift's wedding! I bet they had that arena looking absolutely incredible. Plus, a bunch of famous singers performed.

I think this is one reason why they chose such a closed space as MSG.

Exactly @DimwittedSkateri think it was pretty strategically smart. Their options for 1000 guests were severely limited too. And it’s very secure.

It's actually a ton of fun to imagine what kind of wedding you'd have if you had unlimited funds!

I would have a wedding on ice. An ice wonderland, with tables and chairs made of ice. (Don't come at me - there is an Ice Hotel somewhere, so these things are possible!) And I would pay for all the guests to take skating lessons beforehand!

But there would be lots of carpet, too, so people would only have to skate around the wedding and the tables if they wanted to. The carpets would be white and lit up with soft cream lighting. Sigh.

Yeah I’d watch that too. I bet the music was brilliant.

Her civil ceremony was lovely - there’s still a big ostentatious party to come though.

I didn't love that suit. Looked very Nineties office. And the jacket cuts across the widest part of her. 🙈 Should have had a more curved hemline or be higher/lower.

MSG is positively quaint in comparison to what could have happened at a public venue.

At least her privates were covered I guess?

It does make sense as a venue for both of them. She lives in New York. They have both spoken about the shared fact of playing in large arenas for their jobs. They can control the space and security in that venue. An outdoor/farm/beach wedding would have potentially had drones/helicopters/long range cameras trying to catch it from the media or anywhere, even with top security.

I’ve heard of her, not of him and I couldn’t tell you a single song she’s written. I do think the money wasted on this ridiculous event is utterly obscene. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But it’s their money to spend 🤷‍♀️ and now it’s gone back into the economy instead of sitting in a bank account.

They also donated £26 million to various charities. The obscenity!

I agree with your general sentiment about them, the wedding and why MSG makes some sense.

I read that there’s no application for a marriage license in MSG filed on this date, so whatever they’re doing inside it isn’t the official stuff.

But as a New Yorker, who was married in NYC, the date, time and location are filled out by the officiant or clerk after the wedding.

Re road closures - they get closed all the time for all kinds of things. No biggie.

Exactly. Woman uses her talent and hard work to become a billionaire, donates shitloads to charity all over the world, gives her crew life-changing amounts in bonuses, pulls off a commercial masterstroke to regain her masters which creates a system for other artists to benefit from and people are STILL finding things to froth about 🤷‍♀️
