Newnamechchchchange · 25/06/2026 23:39

Hotel for Harry Styles trip has cancelled our booking (due to building works allegedly)

Where can we stay at this point that's not mega money? Any places less touristy but on a tube line?

Hotels close-ish to tube stn only pls as travelling just myself & 2 teen DD. Don't want to be walking thru London late at night anywhere iffy.

Travelling down from NW if there's any other ideas for how to manage this trip now.

Ta

some of the suggestions on here are wild! canary Wharf, Gatwick Airport!

Watford is your best bet, as you can probably get the train back from there to the NW without having to go back into London the next morning.

Ricky also fine, St Alban's has a PI but overall Watford makes the most sense

Premier Inn at Southwark, pretty much on top of the tube station and on the Jubilee line from Wembley.

That's where a good friend of mine is staying with two pre-teen girls on the last night.

Friday 3rd July?

Wembley Park is available if you’re prepared to pay £332.

how old is the eldest. Dd stayed in a Travelodge room by herself when she was 15 with me & her brother next door so if one looks older you could book a twin and a double.

Did you look at the London Edgware Premier Inn yet?

geraniums111 · 26/06/2026 20:33

Just stay at the other Uxbridge premier inn. It's zone six conservative surburbia not the bronx in the 80s. It's not a big sprawling industrial estate - the premier inn is pretty much the first thing you get to off a main busy road.

And you were willing to bed down in a central London train station...!

childoftkty · 26/06/2026 20:56

Honestly the hysteria. There will be thousands of women wandering around Wembley it will be more than fine. To be fair it’s fine regardless. London is busy and pretty safe 24/7. I’m perfectly happy for my teens to be be on public transport at night. It’s packed

Rickmansworth couldn’t be much more middle class if it tried.

Shouldhavebutdidnt · 26/06/2026 20:58

Try Best Western Swiss Cottage - we had a family room there couple of weeks ago and it was £121 for the night and about 2 mins walk in a lovely area from the tube. It was a little dated but perfectly pleasant

I know, there's some people MASSIVELY overthinking this.

We stayed at Premier Inn High Wycombe for Harry this week. It’s less than 15 mins walk to the station through town but plenty of cabs about if you didn’t want to walk. Felt very safe though, lots of people around. Hotel is next to a McDonald’s which was doing a roaring trade when we got back. Train line goes into the stadium station so literally couldn’t be easier getting out and you want the yellow line queue for the return. Takes approx 30 mins on the train.

cestlavielife · 26/06/2026 21:30

You can pick up an uber for station to hotel. Download uber app

Really, at Premier Inn Southwark Station? It's showing a family room for me. 3rd July, £214

user0987637829 · 26/06/2026 21:36

Just book a double room and squeeze in. Also I used to live in London and used to frequent all parts late at night alone and get the night buses a lot - was always fine.

Prem Inn wembley sold out.

Travelodge wembley is available but £330!

Not many hotels do rooms for 3 ppl either so really feel limited.

Its such a nightmare isnt it, I originally booked a hotel in Harrow so I could use the jubilee line but I didn't feel safe with my daughter. Have you looked at air bnbs in the area?

Yes, I've just double checked. No availability on 3rd July for 3 ppl at Prem Inn.

Try also searching for 2 adults & 1child rather than just 1 adult & 2 children.

it would mean that two of you would have to share a double bed but some Premier Inn family rooms can’t accommodate two singles plus the double.

BippidyBoppety · 26/06/2026 22:56

Last time I stayed at the Wembley International (solo traveller) the staff gave me a key to my room - went up, had a wee in the bathroom and two men walked in. The staff checking me in hadn't blocked the room and the next member of staff allocate th same room to the next customers. This was 2023. Offered me a free breakfast when I stood in Reception with steam coming out of my ears (they two guys saw my luggage and left quickly, thankfully). Wouldn't trust them.

TheSquareMile · 26/06/2026 22:58

@Newnamechchchchange

Did you check the Aldgate East Travelodge, OP?

They have a family room.

Our last London trip summer 2025 we stayed at Prem Inn Archway.
First room they gave us was horrific. Dirty & falling apart.
After a lot of faffing & time wasting on their part, they allocated us a new room. So at about midnight we arrive at the new room, key in door, walk in...
There was a lone female in bed, in pj's, completely bewildered / confused / shocked.
There's since been a lot in the press that's shown this is scarily common.
it's made me very wary of all these places travelling as a female (lone parent) with kids.

Why didn't you feel safe? I don't know Harrow.
Where did you book in the end? Have you seen HS yet?
