Furious with DH’s new England flag

NC’d for this. About half the houses on our street put flags up during the big football tournaments. DH put one up with his teams badge on at the weekend, and took delivery of a new flag today. He’s proudly displayed this - it’s a St George’s cross with ‘In Farage We Trust’ printed across the middle 😫

I’ve told him to take it down and that the neighbours will judge but he’s standing firm. Would it be wrong of me to tear it down myself?!

No I had no idea, he’s clearly taken inspiration from a house two down who have a similar flag with political messaging although not that party.

Farage is a terrible football manager. All his attacks go down the right hand side.

I would make judgements about your family based on the message on that flag and they wouldn’t be positive

yes, nothing wrong with england flags during the world cup, though I wouldn't want one up myself, but I would be embarrassed to have one with that message on. I was going to suggest you bought a different country's flag and put that up also if you don't support england, but i would tell dh he wasn't allowed to have this up, it's your house too.

Just horrific. Everyone knows that the name of your locality is the only thing that should be written across a flag, and the more local the better.

Adding politics to it is the absolute worst. I saw a combined Pride/Scotland flag up last night too, you bet I was judging.

You could take it down and cut the message out and put it back up with a rectangular hole in it. 😁

I have just put our flag up. It's just a plain St George's cross. I always put the Union flag up during the Olympics as well. There shouldn't be any political messages on these flags.
