Ditching the monarchy would be a very expensive waste of time. The constitutional disruption would cost ££££ to reform, and the loss of soft power and tourism just doesn’t make it worth it. It would be like Brexit all over again, with no real benefits, a lot of spending and arguing over what was going to happen.

Im not sure there’s a point to make here. The grant was increased to do the works and after it will be reduced. Labour can’t be seen as the good guys for being the first ones to reduce it as there was an increase in the first place

Hunting is a special kind of nasty, it’s done for enjoyment. No, I don’t like factory farming, but the purpose is not the pleasure of making the animals suffer. Barbaric as some dairy farming practices are, the farmers I know, love their cows. I’m not sure your point stands up to scrutiny as a comparison.

I am not in favour of the monarchy actually and if there were a referendum I would vote for change but I accept (and you are very wrong in this respect but the far left always believe that everyone who disagrees with them is wrong as opposed to having a different opinion) that the vast majority of people in this country would not wish to see an end to the monarchy, it’s called democracy another concept the far left aren’t in tune with. 🙄
