This week inbetween my 50 hour working week i have:
dentist appt for me
Oncology telephone appt
Water plants for sister who is away. I'll need to go to hers every other day. She's a 15 minute drive each way
Have roots done - the only appt I could get for 8 weeks
Take DC1 to an appt in the day - 1 hour drive each way
PT every day (5am)
DC2 has dentist appt
DC2 has hospital

... how the hell am I going to fit in work ?!

Confused
MeinKraft · 14/06/2026 20:19

Take a weeks annual leave then?

BitDrizzly · 14/06/2026 20:20

Cancel the PT (5am everyday is madness!) and don’t ever offer to water your sister’s plants again!

Theseagullsarenowclouds · 14/06/2026 20:23

The older I get the more pissed off I get with work and that it stops me getting anything done. I do see it as quite an inconvenience tbh 😁.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 14/06/2026 20:23

Well you dont have to do PT or get your roots done so there is a significant chunk of time back.

The forecast isnt that hot so you should only need to do the plants every third day of you give them a good soak each time you go.

But honestly, your schedule seems no better or worse than almost every parent going so stop trying to sound like a martyr.

Autumngirl5 · 14/06/2026 20:29

Cancel PT
Could anyone else take DC1 to their appointment?
Could you rearrange your dental appointment?
Do you have a partner who could help?
Maybe ask for a few hours leave?

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

eekididitagain · 14/06/2026 20:29

Work is a higher priority than PT sessions, watering plants and getting hair done. So you should factor in your 50 hr working week before making unnecessary appointments during the working week.

If you’re out at PT sessions at 5am, I’m assuming you don’t leave the kids on their own (unless older ofcourse) which suggests you’re not a single parent, which means your DP/DH could step up and help with managing the DCs appointments between you.

Your week sounds nothing out of the ordinary for working parents tbh.

DidntLikeTheEnding · 14/06/2026 20:30

LOL, who does?!

Yoghurti · 14/06/2026 20:30

Personal trainer, every single day - is that even recommended by a fitness professional? No rest days at all?

RosePetals86 · 14/06/2026 20:30

I feel this way every week! Work gets in the way of life.. and for those saying take annual leave for medical appointments- really?!

CurdinHenry · 14/06/2026 20:32

You're legally entitled to leave for medical and dental appointments for yourself and for time off to care for your children.

Is getting your roots done and watering some plants a medical appointment 🙄

CurdinHenry · 14/06/2026 20:32

And 50 hours is in excess of the working time directive

Honeyhonay · 14/06/2026 20:33

Since becoming a sahm I wonder how I’ll ever fit in work again! 😂

RubyPowderPuff · 14/06/2026 20:34

Well, nobody forced you to go to work...

Just take AL for the appointments, cancel PT and try to reduce the visiting amount to Sister to every 3rd day...

Besidemyselfwithworry · 14/06/2026 20:35

Is this post real??????

ffs cut the 5am personal trainer
buy a box of hair dye
for starters!

Needmorelego · 14/06/2026 20:35

With that many medical appointments perhaps booking the week off would have been a good idea.
The other stuff (what is PT?) - half an hour every other day for the plants is not that much.
You don't need your roots doing. You just want them.

wishfulthinking25 · 14/06/2026 20:36

Yep I feel you. Feel like this most weeks tbh, hoping I win the lottery soon. But you have pt everyday at 5am? I wish I had your motivation!

Goldenboysmum · 14/06/2026 20:36

Surely you've not just found out about the appointments?

Don't you organise any time off needed as and when you make/recieve the appointment?

SlightFerret · 14/06/2026 20:37

This would tip me over the edge. Why are you working a 50 hour week when you have cancer OP? PT is madness.

DameOfThrones · 14/06/2026 20:38

Well I've no doubt you won't be too busy to spend the money they give you 🤷‍♂️

SockPlant · 14/06/2026 20:39

You are presumably an adult? don't plan so much during work time, or take leave.

Overthebow · 14/06/2026 20:39

Hair appointment, PT and plant watering are nice to haves rather then necessities, so they can be dropped if you can’t fit in work. Or take annual leave.

But...but what about her sister's plants?

Won't someone think of the plants!

When was cancer mentioned?
