Really Hello Fresh? Jumping on the Pride bandwagon and promoting your high fibre offering to gay men? Utterly grim.

Ewww. Yuck.

Why is your 7 year old online?

He is not. I didn't know it was only a social media campaign, I thought it would also be print / media / tv

Slightyamusedandsilly · 08/06/2026 11:37

It isn't new. Heterosexuals obsessing about gay people having sex and what they actually get up to.

We don't.

No one cares.

But get your ass cheeks out of cowboy slacks in public

You found it funny? So it’s more your thing. Most don’t care.

StrictlyCoffee · 08/06/2026 11:46

I saw it on fb the other day and couldn’t believe my eyes. Completely grim, inappropriate and a stark reminder of exactly why people shouldn’t be bringing their whole self to work - particularly not, in this instance, the social media intern.

Hello Fresh made it very clear what they meant so nobody needs to ‘obsess’ over anything.

It’s a bit crass but I guess some people find it hilarious.

It fascinates me how people who would doubtless insist that they're not homophobic and are supportive of Pride are nonetheless utterly disgusted when anyone dares to refer to actual sex between two men.

Pride doesn't have to be all 'love is love' and families with two mums from Hebden Bridge pushing their twins in buggy at the parade, you know. It doesn't have to be sanitised for you because you don't approve of what men might do in bed together.

I would think it every bit as 'ew' if they posted something similar about their product and heterosexual sex.

You clearly care enough to comment on this post.

This is a horrible comment, try being nice for a while. You might enjoy it

I know men have sex with other men and am not disgusted by it in the slightest. What does it have to do with a meal preparation service though?

But I don't want to read about a woman emptying her bowels to prepare for anal sex with her husband, or a man eating things to make his semen taste better for his girlfriend to drink, or a woman fucking herself with phallic vegetables.

I just don't want to hear about shit and/or sex in general, when I'm thinking about food. Nothing to do with gay men.

It's also a little homophobic to say that gay men as a demographic are starving themselves because they can't stop fucking, but also need to clean out their bowels for all the penetrative anal sex they're going to have. But apparently only in June?

To understand it you only have to consider the context.

It's not disgusting in and of itself.

It's really not good when paired with choosing meals for my family.

SpareVanKeys · 08/06/2026 12:11

Gross. But I take from that advert I’m not their target customer. Rather short sighted marketing to be turning off so many potential customers, but their choice (loss) I guess.

Nothingeverlastsforever · 08/06/2026 12:12

I genuinely think my time on MN has come to an end. I’ve been here through various names for the last 22 years, but it has exploded into a pit of hate and venom. This thread is nothing but out and out (ha! Ironic) homophobia.

By the way, plenty of heterosexual couples have anal too. Life isn’t just missionary style on birthdays and anniversaries

No it's not.

A food company doesn't need to market it towards anal sex in any form.

I'm a bisexual woman, and I don't want to hear about heterosexual anal, or lesbian anal pegging, or women/men shitting, when I'm thinking about eating.

(Additionally, sex isn't restricted to either 'twice-yearly missionary sex', or 'lots of anal sex'. Just fyi, you're actually able to do a wide variety of other things too. Like loads of great, fun sex but no anal. Or twice-yearly anal, if you like!)

This advert is LITERALLY HOMOPHOBIC.

Its what straight men would shout at gay men on building sites 30 years ago.

You must have really missed out on a great sex life if you think there is nothing between missionary and anal sex. I’ve seen a lot of men on the sex board hinting at women being prudish for disliking the thought of anal and they also say things about them probably only liking missionary etc.

You are leaving mumsnet anyway…. so see ya! Bet you’re still here next year.

myrtletrotter · 08/06/2026 12:25

Pride does seem to be all about the men, like gay women don't exist, except the special laydees

Paganpentacle · 08/06/2026 12:29

ScrollingLeaves · 07/06/2026 23:34

Repulsive.
How would you ever see a Hello Fresh box again without thinking of this too?

Pride just pushes and pushes.

Thats why more fibre is needed...😳

30 years ago straight men would have been shouting ‘up your fibre intake before anal’ to gay men across the street??

ClaudiaCasswell · 07/06/2026 22:39

YANBU - it is truly disgusting.

Is it anal sex specifically or just gay sex overall you find "truly disgusting?"

I don't get the outrage.
Lots of companies do equally tongue in cheek marketing during valentines day and/or refer to gut health/fibre intake/bowel movement etc for other types of products.

It's not as though children will be following the hello fresh insta in the first place or even understand the reference.

They would have been making comments about 'turd-burgling' and similar... so kind of, yes.
