Just heard Nigel talk about this on LBC following Digwa sentencing. Also saw the video... I'm shocked and so saddened. Not sure what my aibu is but I think we need to ban all religious weapons for a start . What do u think ? Are you in police ? Are you treating people differently?

Yes, total incompetence. Even a first aider should've seen that someone unable to sit upright, mouth full of blood, cyanotic hands and clearly cardiovascularly shutdown needed immediate emergency medical attention.

They were gormless and did not see the gravity of the situation as distracted by the alleged 'race attack' story.

I hope they are disciplined and on desk duty for the rest of their careers if not sacked.

That doesn’t make it alright for another poster to deny anything ever happened and claim that it was such a peaceful protest to suit their own narrative. Maybe you’d like to also point out your comment to that particular poster too seeing as they seem to think it was such an uneventful protest

People are rightly asking questions about how the situation was handled and they are shocked, and disquieted, to hear Henry’s words: “I can’t breathe.”

Inciting violence has to be specific. It can’t be a statement such as ‘get angry’, it has to be more like ‘meet at X place at 4pm, bring weapons, we’re going to give the Y people what’s been coming to them’. It can’t just be a general statement, it has to be active and instrumental in inciting a specific act of violence or encouraging it to happen.

Be careful what you wish for when egging on arrests for speech matters. It hasn’t gone well so far and can so very easily come back to bite you one day.

I think this is the key issue running through this entire thread.

I would’ve always assumed not. But on this thread it really does feel like to many, simple ‘racism’ with no acts attached to that, is much worse than a white boy being murdered while the killer weaponises both their races for his phoney defence.

Farage is a right wing politician. Has been for years and years now. It’s fully expected that he would weigh into this incident as two tier policing is one of his causes. In the same way I would expect Zack Polanski to weigh in on transgender ideology, because it’s a pillar of his beliefs. That doesn’t mean I think Zack is ‘weaponising the issue’ despite the fact I very strongly disagree with him.

As I said before - it isn’t the case that only left wing beliefs are authentic and sincerely held and everything else is ‘agenda’.

For me it is about the racist response to this horrific murder.

That’s the problem there they are people who are meant to be above the rest of us, to lead by example. Whatever anyone’s agenda this was about a young man’s murder. The family asked that this wasn’t used to create division so Farage carried on anyway weather you are left or right he was wrong.

Honestly I had a reckoning with the idea of division recently and I am cool with it. It feels scary but the alternative is much much worse. There’s nothing wrong with division or disagreement.
