2 Tier Britain and Policing - Digwa

Wellwhatnowbellaboo · Yesterday 09:12

Just heard Nigel talk about this on LBC following Digwa sentencing. Also saw the video... I'm shocked and so saddened. Not sure what my aibu is but I think we need to ban all religious weapons for a start . What do u think ? Are you in police ? Are you treating people differently?

You're kidding. You've been going relentlessly for hours

Not consistently! I’ve been on and off it during the day!
I certainly don’t have time to respond to a poster who quotes every post I’ve made on this thread and has been doing relentlessly. Now that is sad!

I can’t believe it. He was so brave and so strong to hold on that long. You can tell he just knew there was no hope when they started reading his rights and that’s when he just laid down and died. So inhumane. There was absolutely no reason to cuff him.

And this is what I don’t get. They didn’t release the handcuffs even when it was clear there was something wrong. Poor guy.

Can’t they? Perhaps my google’s broken because I can’t find any reference to violence at a BLM protest. Maybe yours is better?

There were over 100 arrests after clashes between BLM protesters and police.

MushMonster · Today 21:19

I full on believe in the two ( better said, many) tier police now, as they are actually told to treat us differently, depending on our ethnicity. I mean, I really cannot believe it!
The veil has full on fell from my eyes. How have we sunk so low? When did this happen?

And, more people need to make it to jail regarding this case. Those in the family covering up for it need to face the consequences.

Gloriia · Today 21:19

BIossomtoes · Today 21:13

You said looting. No evidence of it yet.

You said no violence, you suggested a pp couldn't google properly. So I linked. Go on admit it you were wrong.

Do you accept now that BLM protests were violent?!

Southampton is about free speech and protest. We are allowed to voice our outrage at crap policing with tragic results. If Starmer was taking the knee a few years ago he should not be trying to shush people now.

Quite.
And where was Farage (and his desire to “protect women and girls”) with his “pure cold rage” when those rapists weren’t sent to prison. Not a fucking squeak that I can find.

This case is appalling. But let’s not pretend Farage is remotely arsed about justice.

Absolutely this. Where was Farage’s rage over that case? He’s just using this to incite hatred and drive division

CollieH9g · Today 21:21

It is terrible and terrifying. How could poor Henry be ignored and dismissed by police, in favour of a lying murderer?

I think there should be further investigation of whether medical help would have saved Henry, if it had been called sooner. It seems several people were downplaying his injuries, no one cared to call him an ambulance?!

It’s news to me too. The guidelines sound impossible to work with.

Who is this?

An anonymous Twitter account which has changed its username 8 times in the three years it has been active. Followed by a lot of Restore supporters.

@ZoeCM do you know who runs the account, please?

Watching the 3 minute video then it makes sense. They knew there was something wrong before they put the cuffs on; so they weren’t going to have a sudden realisation. They already knew.

They knew he couldn’t sit up because the dad was holding him upright
They knew he had been stabbed because he told them and he had a cut on his face
They knew he was in a bad way. Parents were blaming his bad way for jumping over the fence and slipping on a car. Even if he hadn’t been stabbed he could have had a broken back.
They knew he was so incapacitated they made comment they thought he was going to be sick. But no, that was his last breaths.

I don’t think there have been any BLM riots, just protests globally.

Where were you during lockdown when BLM took to the streets in London? Churchill's statue was defaced as was the Cenotaph. Shops were looted. Police were on their knees at the 'request' of a black woman . A policewoman fell from her horse after it was spooked during a flare up. BLM protesters had a beano. How can you not remember it?

It’s news to me too. The guidelines sound impossible to work with.

And first I hear of this too.

I do believe in two tier Britain. I see it everywhere. Not just in policing, but in absolutely everything. It’s like the Wild West where I live.

But I cannot believe someone actually wrote that down in a document.
That policing equality is ‘not treating everyone the same and not being colour bling.’ Apparently you have to meet people where they are? Excuse me what.

Clavinova · Today 21:27

Gloriia · Today 20:27

'Politicising a tragedy'. It is their job to raise concerns of the inactions or actions of the police force. This is a big deal you know, a horrific tragedy.

I mean seriously, politicising a tragedy. Did you see Starmer and Rayner 'politicising' a death a few years ago 'taking the knee' when the actions of plods in another country caused a man's death? That ok?

I've just looked back on Hansard to see what Keir Starmer said about George Floyd's death;

Wednesday 3 June 2020
Keir Starmer
(Holborn and St Pancras) (Lab)
May I start by expressing shock and anger at the death of George Floyd? This has shone a light on racism and hatred experienced by many in the US and beyond. I am surprised the Prime Minister has not said anything about this yet, but I hope that the next time he speaks to President Trump he will convey to him the UK’s abhorrence about his response to the events.

The Prime Minister
Let me let me begin by associating myself absolutely with what the right hon. and learned Gentleman had to say about the death of George Floyd. I think that what happened in the United States was appalling and inexcusable. We all saw it on our screens. I perfectly understand people’s right to protest at what took place, although obviously I also believe that protests should take place in a lawful and reasonable way...

Keir Starmer
Starmer moves on and says nothing to indicate that he agrees that protests should take place in a lawful and reasonable way - clashes erupted outside Downing Street that evening.

You are correct. The fact he couldn’t sit up was the first indicator but they carried on regardless. It really was disgusting.
He told them numerous times he had been stabbed and that he couldn’t breathe. You could hear the pain in his voice. He was so weak by this point. The video is so painful to watch. No excuse for what they did.

@Wellwhatnowbellaboo You agree with Farage politicising this murder and urging people to to respond with 'pure cold rage' when Henry Novak's family asked people not to do so?

I think Farage needs arresting for inciting violence, same sort of thing that Trump did on Jan 6th.

I am sure in hindsight it’s something which will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

There’s no way they didn’t see the state he was in. At best they probably thought he just broke a rib and has been slashed in the face. Still no idea why you wouldn’t call an ambulance for that.

I agree. They didn’t even attempt to get him medical attention until it was too late. It’s blatantly obvious from the video he needed an ambulance. Heads really do need to roll for this

I agree that heads should roll. But sadly the police often get away with this sort of thing. There is a long and sorry list of deaths in police custody.

14 were injured in the blm protests that you seemed to think were non violent despite us all seeing it live in the telly Confused. <please refer to my helpful previous link as evidence>

Why did Starmer take the knee for a man who died in the US but wants us all to be quiet about the police's shocking actions in this country do you think?

The arrests included many far-right activists who gathered to protect statues.

Remember the one urinating on a memorial to PC Palmer.?
