Would you tell a woman her gym leggings were see through?

Regular gym class. Behind a woman today who was wearing black leggings, looked fine when she was standing but as soon as she bent over they were completely see through, almost like a pair of 30 denier tights. Could see colour and shape of underwear. Would you have told her at end of class?

I was planning on doing but she was chatting to another class member at the end and stayed on for the next class so couldn't grab her outside. Feel bad now but also wasnt sure how she would react??

Nope I wouldn't unless I knew her.

SixAndJuliet · 30/05/2026 11:53

Friend yes, stranger no.

Notsosweetcaroline · 30/05/2026 11:54

yeah only if I knew her.

FeelingALittleWoozyHere · 30/05/2026 11:59

To clarify - I have never spoken to her. I think, like me, she goes every week, but we have never chatted

If I was her I would really appreciate someone pulling me aside to give me a heads up.

Then again just walking around the supermarket there were loads of women wearing white trousers and skirts all see through. Don't people look in the mirror anymore to see what your outfit looks like. Skirts nowadays don't seem to have linings anymore. Just wear a slip or big white knickers.

TheLilacFinch · 30/05/2026 12:05

I wouldn’t, no.

Lahsania · 30/05/2026 12:06

Depends if she looks sane. People can be surprisingly ott in their reactions and may well not recognise your good intentions.

chirrupybird · 30/05/2026 12:07

No one seems to care if you can see their underwear these days. Women walking down the street in leggings leaving nothing to the imagination. I would assume she knows.

The skin coloured ones are the worst. Why do people wear them everyday and not just for the gym. They always look awful on young or old.

Edited

Actually, you should wear nude knickers under white.

OriginalUsername2 · 30/05/2026 12:10

I wouldn’t, I’m not sure why.. maybe because she might say “So what, don’t look!” or tell me to fuck off? Or be so mortified she never comes back, then I’d feel shit?

ponyprincess · 30/05/2026 12:10

No. Just don't look if it bothers you.

Good shout. I have heard that you should wear red bras under white shirts and blouses.

EarringsandLipstick · 30/05/2026 12:14

Absolutely not. It’s a horrible thing to do & not remotely in the spirit of kindness that you seem to be suggesting.

Just to check i am understanding you- Its not kind to tell her?

Assuming that she would care about that in the first place (and I haven't seen a pair of see through leggings since about 2013 as the materials used are different now), all it would achieve is her feeling shit about herself until she got home.

She was between me and the instructor so directly in my eyeline. Once I had spotted it the first time I didnt look again. Doesnt 'bother' me and I wasnt suggesting I tell her for my comfort.

Nope. Saw a woman out shopping yesterday with cycling shorts and I could actually see the shape of her public hair.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 30/05/2026 12:38

No

sonjadog · 30/05/2026 12:40

No, I wouldn't. At best, you will make her feel horribly embarrassed about using them on previous occasions. She may also see it as a stranger trying to police her clothing and give you a sharp reply. Also, does it really matter if you could see someone's knickers in an exercise class? As you said yourself, it didn't really bother you.

Loreleily · 30/05/2026 12:42

Absolutely not. Who cares if you can see her pants when she bends over in a yoga class? Just don’t look and get on with your day.
