Spiralizer. Never worked out how to use it.

Don’t let me near a kitchen gadget demo at a County Show 🤫

Halara, I’ve been tempted as a friend raves about them but then read on here about sweat shops so haven’t gone there.

I‘m better at resisting Facebook ads.

MoonWoman69 · Today 08:32

Small clip on battery powered can opener anyone?! Absolutely brilliant if your can is dent free, if not, rubbish! Wasn't a cheap one either!
@PistachioTiramisu Oh I love my Karcher window vac, makes me actually enjoy doing the windows!

SanctusInDistress · Today 08:34

I have a few halara clothes denim shorts, work trousers and they always fit lovely and are good material and wash well

Why would anybody like wearing shorts thst literally mimick the a**hole? I don’t get it……is it an anthropological need to feel ‘desired’? However if it was an anthropological thing, it’s the wrong body part to be highlighting.

@sugarandcyanide im on my second month of tretinoin from Dermatica, love it.

@beasmithwentworth @MrsShawnHatosy crest 3D White strips. Not available in the U.K. but you can buy a couple to try on Etsy and import a box from America through iherb. They are powerful, make your teeth sensitive an d can cause damage, I guess that’s why they aren’t sold otc in the uk

I need to know what a whizzy top shower thingy is. I think i want one.

Mine's a JML hurricane spin scrubber. You really don't want one.

DeafLeppard · Today 08:37

Spiraliser - way too much faff to use. Bought a mandoline with a finger guard that goes in the dishwasher which is used all the time.

i refuse to buy anything that I see advertised on social media. I am a sucker for a Mumsnet rec though.

Squirrelchops1 · Today 08:38

Halara wide jeans - fantastic, ive just ordered shorts. Even found returns fine
Nordic socks- love them
Bouncy blow heatless curler - shite
Knock off Dyson airwrap- pretty good but I'm a bit cack handed so it's a me issue

I keep making the mistake of buying things advertised to me on Facebook, smol cleaning product subscription, who gives a crap toilet paper, popsy dresses, purdy & fig.

Halara trousers and shorts are the latest things I'm tempted by.

Oh, Facebook ads! That's how I found Bird & Blend tea, the Bubble Panda (bubble tea kits, which was nice in the middle of lockdown) Popsy and Splendette.

reallyalurker · Today 08:45

I bought a cat fur steam cleaner that had come up on my sister's Facebook ads, and it was actually quite good. The cat seemed ok with it.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · Today 08:45

PistachioTiramisu · Today 08:23

Totally agree about the steam cleaner - rubbish!

Robot vacuum cleaner - not worth the money, got caught up on chairs in the kitchen, didn't clean the carpets well - threw away.

Karcher window cleaner - too difficult to do a good job - just get a proper human window cleaner to do them now!

Ice cream maker - far too much fuss having to prepare the mixture, remember to put the bowl in the freezer, wait for ages for it to actually freeze. Gave away to neighbour.

Swing hammock - wanted one for ages - finally got it and just didn't get on with it at all. Gave away to neighbour too!

Our Karcher window cleaner worked very well when we first got it, since dh was very keen to try out his new toy.

Not even sure where it is now. And our windows are reproaching me when the sun’s shining through them. I do really need to dig out the Windolene and a cloth.

No collagen powder

I love the Elevate collagen powder. Terribly achy hips no longer aching and my skin is definitely a little bouncier. I haven’t changed anything else so can only put it down to the collagen. Don’t care if its the placebo effect - just delighted not to be aching anymore!!

GreenSmallBird · Today 08:47

Another lover of Nordic Socks here. See also Barnaby Bars which were all over my Facebook and bloody delicious.

Not so great was a mobile phone stand that was the size of a credit card and supposed to act like a tripod for taking pictures. It involved some quite complicated twisting to get it into its usable state and I don’t know if I’m stronger than the average user but I snapped it the first time I used it.

Edited

Halara do more than one style of shorts. It could be these ones...

Well I went away to a cottage in the next county for a few days because it kept popping up on FB!

ThatsNicer · Today 08:50

A hand held steamer that looks like a penguin it is supposed to make cleaning a cooker easier.
In fact it is a miracle of science, it produces steam from lukewarm water. totally useless at cleaning a cooker.

Daisymaybe60 · Today 08:52

Oh God, I didn’t realise just what an easily influenced sap I am till I read this thread. 😂

Sodastream, crimpitt, pasta maker, steam mop, weighted hula hoop and much, much more. All gathering dust in a cupboard near me. I’d to drink all the Dash because nobody else would. Didn’t like the Smol. And I’ve just cancelled Purdey and Figg. Arrived yesterday, smelt gorgeous… for about an hour. At least it got me doing a bit of cleaning.

OTOH, I love our robo vac, my Nordic socks both real and fake, the Valentte candles, Bird & Blend. The jury’s still out on the seaweed shampoo (I love the smell), but the Routine was a no. I’m now off to google Kishkin after its one solitary mention on the thread…

WhiteCatty · Today 08:53

I recently bought the Halara denim shorts, love them, have ordered them again in a different colour.

IwanttoWFH · Today 08:58

Il Makiage foundation - like smearing Dulux paint all over my face.

Lash lift kit - couldn’t get my lashes to stick to the pad. Eventually I did and it looked good but took over an hour, so I reverted back to getting it done at the salon.

Heatless curls set (three different types. All shite).

Christian Dior stick foundation - amazing and I’ve bought it a second time now.

LED face mask. Did nothing for my skin, sold it on Vinted.

Eleat overnight oats - tastes artificial. Bought six bags. Have asked for a refund!

Reedle Shot - actually really like this. Has made my skin more “glowy”.

Halara trousers - almost bought from them directly but have purchased a pair from Vinted for half the price. Patiently awaiting their arrival!

beasmithwentworth · Today 08:59

@CoraPirbright I was on the brink of ordering elavate a few weeks ago but I didn’t .. I may still. It’s good to know that it’s working for you - if that’s what it is! It seems very expensive- but I know they all are. But also every single female celebrity over 40 seems to be advertising it at the moment (on my feed at least) and I’m torn between thinking ‘actually some of these people are ones I would deem as very trustworthy (as far as you can tell purely from public perception) and surely they wouldn’t be advertising it unless they have used it and have been genuinely impressed’ and ‘Elevate must have paid these people a fuckload of money and their morals have gone out of the window’ . I’m still not sure!

im about to be influenced - the Halara shorts! Does someone need to stop me?

I've got them and they are fantastic. Instantly ordered some for DD.

AhBiscuits · Today 09:00

I've bought several things from halara now and it's all been fab, exactly as advertised.

CharlesPetrescu · Today 09:02

I was influenced by Melissa Murrell into buying Levis Ribcage Bell Jeans. They are good quality and flattering so I don't regret it.

supersop60 · Today 09:03

Haven’t rtft, sorry.
Zoflora has been around for a lot longer than Mrs Hinch.
Hilaine minimiser bra - rubbish and uncomfortable, not true to size
wrinkle minimiser stick - got scammed with a fake.
Il Makiage foundation- goes on great, then changes texture and colour after 10 minutes. Free brushes and eyeliner are good, though.
Elevate - definitely helping my joints, not seen much change to skin and hair yet (am 66).
Purdey and Fig - love it, and you can change your subscription or pause it, so no need to be scammed over payments.

I am a bit of a MN sheep though I really loved (and still so) my Soap and Glory foot file and the Korea Italy towels. There's probably more, but those two spring to mind.

Korean Italy towels are a game changer. Really brilliant and the best exfoliants there are. Saved my life when I had horrific psoriasis

The weighed hula hoop thing that you shimmy around in and whittle your waist down!
It was a bit of fun for the kids for a while I suppose.

Yes, this!! It’s in the back of the cupboard!
