British behaviour in holiday hotel

We are staying at a good all inclusive resort (yes, I know all inclusive is not high end, but this is about as good a one as you can get). I am just shocked and ashamed at fellow british people at breakfast time. Letting their kids make a huge mess by allowing them to get their own food. Huge amounts of wasted food. Multiple untouched plates left on tables. Total disregard for others barging round, blocking walkways etc. When did this become ok?? AIBU with expectations? Bear in mind this is not a cheap rubbish tui-blue type place. I dread to think what they are like!

Goodness me keep up, they did and that is why their posts were withdrawn by Mumsnet and by themselves. All this faux ignorance is getting tedious

Who is they?! I had no posts deleted. Or are you calling @Scarlettjune 'they' so you're not accused of gender stereotyping?

I mean a small part of me is impressed by the delusion.

How is it delusional, you wrote it, it is factual!

You living in lots of places doesn't seem to be reflective of your comments as you don't seem to like other cultures and aren't open to them when you resort to stereotypes like the Irish are heavy drinkers.

jinglejanglescarecat · Yesterday 09:52

You lot are acting liking kids in a school playground 😂.

Why are you responding to a post I made to a different poster.

Scarlettjune · Yesterday 09:53

@goldenbear why did you ask me if I was Russian?

Scarlettjune · Yesterday 09:54

Because we can all respond to any post.

You answered this post of mine at 0932 and have now just responded at 0948 to the exact same post of mine again rudely! Do you need a break?!

It is def not me who needs to keep up ;-)

Of course they did. Why would I stand by every comment that I have made on here, and then ask for my own post to be deleted. I have never withdrawn any comment of mine in my whole time on mumsnet

Don't be ridiculous, you wanted that removed as presumably you realised as well as your xenophobic comments you were flippant in your use of derogatory terms.

No I didn't want it removed. Which comment was it, do you remember?

I'll write it word for word again here.

Why would I delete one of my comments and not delete the rest when all my comments say the same thing

Please don’t call TUI blue type places cheap and rubbish. They are still over £3k for a holiday and is the best that people can afford - don’t shit on others!

Indeed - I have just booked a caravan holiday next year in Blackpool! If Tui blue is naff, I dread to think where I come in 🫣😂

Well when she is still writing about me and says things that aren't true to other posters, I decided to stand up for myself. She's a right one!

Which bits are untrue, I'll ask again?

What a hypocrite you are .

You call other people xenophobic, and then you ask people if they are Russian.

You are xenophobic against Russians

Goldenbear · Yesterday 09:59

I'll answer you, when you answer me.

For the fourth time, why did you ask me if I was Russian?

That was a very xenophobic comment that you made about Russians

Because as well as making xenophobic remarks, you throw around derogatory remarks that don't reflect on you well at all.

Which bits are untrue, do you not make xenophobic remarks towards British people?

How's asking if you are Russian xenophobic? Surely your assumption that there is something wrong with being Russian- you have a lot of prejudices don't you.

The whole point of going AI is to be lazy. No thinking. No effort. Just trooping backwards and forwards between the pool and the dining hall.

So probably not surprising that a load of slackers turn up.

That's a bit harsh. DH and I both work full time in high pressure roles, and have volunteer roles in our village, and our children do many extracurriculars between them, oldest is studying hard for the 11+, our life is go go go, we are definitely not 'slackers' . We had our first AI earlier this year as we recognised that we needed some relaxing quality family time to reconnect and recuperate, and it was fantastic, just what we needed.

We were a bit worried about encountering the rude AI stereotype, and also because our daughter is coeliac, so did a lot of research. We found very respectful, friendly polite people of a variety of nationalities, including brits, polite helpful friendly staff

Tbh, I agree with you. I'm not into this non chill vibe and devisiveness - adios!

Ooh Belgrade sounds like an interesting travel destination

Ita great city and good value. Is a bit 'gritty' bit worth visiting and the train from Belgrade to Bar in Montenegro is one of the great European train Journeys and well worth doing.

MonteStory · Yesterday 10:18

I love it when rich people realise other rich people are just as bloody ignorant as us plebeians at Tui Blue resorts 😂

So explain, why did you ask me if I was Russian? Why did you pick that nationality out of all of the nationalities.?

Tiredhotmess · Yesterday 10:44

I wouldn't say that's a distinctly British thing. The only time I've ever encountered behaviour like that at an all inclusive resort was in Cyprus, and it was a Greek family not a British one.

Sidebeforeself · Yesterday 11:16

Don’t you two have jobs to go to?! And that’s a lighthearted comment by the way in case one of you thinks I have a problem with people who are unemployed!
