British behaviour in holiday hotel

We are staying at a good all inclusive resort (yes, I know all inclusive is not high end, but this is about as good a one as you can get). I am just shocked and ashamed at fellow british people at breakfast time. Letting their kids make a huge mess by allowing them to get their own food. Huge amounts of wasted food. Multiple untouched plates left on tables. Total disregard for others barging round, blocking walkways etc. When did this become ok?? AIBU with expectations? Bear in mind this is not a cheap rubbish tui-blue type place. I dread to think what they are like!

That gave me my first genuine LOL in a long time, thank you!

The poster was almost disgusted by words they don't recognise which suggests they had no clue that it was a 'foreign' language.

Unsure what your cryptic message means.

But we are on holiday... Just in a (different) UK country not further afield

To clarify.she said that she will only have one night standa on holiday ABROAD as she feels more relaxed and free

It's not so cryptic; I laughed out loud when I read your post. I can't remember the last time I did that so was expressing gratitude. I hope that clears it up.

The worst I've seen was a French man who was honking snot out of his nose in the pool.

We had a young Scottish bloke who literally spent all day drinking cans alone on his terrace next to the pool . Very chatty and lovely . Smelt terrible by day 2, clearly not showering.

Day 4 he had totally lost all the skin on his leg after falling down the night before in town. A massive bloody, plasma leaking yuck. He assured us he was ok and went and dived in the pool. Lifeguard was ashen as the guy was pissed, everyone in the pool was aghast as that leg was floating detritus into the pool plus the fact he was unwashed for 4 days .Luckily he surfaced after just a bit too long
We got him to go and get stitches. All very British, polite and practically helpful

Ugh. That made me think. I remember one woman telling me about her worst holiday ever. She said there was a murder in her hotel, then there was a rape in the hotel. So police were all over the hotel.

Please don’t call TUI blue type places cheap and rubbish. They are still over £3k for a holiday and is the best that people can afford - don’t shit on others!

She thinks she is the only one who can afford 'naice' expensive holidays. Well, chavs have money too!

Tabitha005 · 26/05/2026 23:12

This is why I go self-catering. I’m not interested in buffets that other people can breathe on.

Goatsarebest · 26/05/2026 23:42

We travel alot and have done everything from tiny apartments in Belgrade to the AI in Greece and Spain and local holiday resorts on the Baltic and everything in-between. Once you are out of a few resorts that attract British tourists who just want the cheap drink and partying, mostly in Spain and Greece, and some stag cities with a few specific bars, British tourists are no where near the worst behaved. In fact most are well aware of the false reputation and often over compensate to be seen as being very well behaved and polite. I was in North Macedonia the other week and they said it's Russians and Germans who are generally the rude and disruptive tourists.

Yes I was shocked when I read that! I'd be delighted if I could afford a TUI holiday.

Love,if this is even real ai is ai, they're all fucking shit 😂,and in my opinion the foreign kids are the worst.
I've been at some nice ai and some crap, but as a pp says a decent restaurant manager should sort out I ll mannered/badly behaved children, but you'll always get some levels of clashing in a place like an AI just because of being around large numbers of folk, rent a villa next time, complete with chef if you're that bougie,

Maybe i'm wrong about tui blue. What i mean is the places with big film characters dressed up, people drinking to excess, feral kids etc. If valuing polite, decent and considerate behaviour makes me a snob then I guess I am.

You sound dreadfully common. Money doesn't buy class.

You give off massive angry vibes and someone who believes everything that they read online. IM actual Experience of having Scandinavian family and friends, this hate is not there but obviously you keep spreading the hate.

Zero angry vibes from that poster. You are coming across odd and defensive.

You speak for all apparently, all of the world who collectively dislikes the Brits. Hilarious when you don't even recognise languages that aren't English.

Are you saying that poster should know every language from every country? How strange.

And btw I would focus on learning to spell properly in English before quoting other languages ;-)

A work colleague is staying AI in Greece at the moment and sent a photo of his dinner plate to the work whatsapp chat yesterday. It was enough food for 4 people not 1 and he later added that he'd not even managed half of it.

As a vegetarian it really offends me to see meat going to waste, that animal died so you could eat.

😂😂

They didn't know that it 'was' a language, the notion of other languages existing is a good start when claiming to 'know' how the world thinks, it's not very convincing otherwise.
Peace out man!

PloddingAlong21 · Yesterday 06:51

Wow OP! Tui blue doesn’t equate to badly behaved feral children just because it’s cheaper than where you go. Price doesn’t equate to good behaviour and it definitely, as demonstrated by your outward views, demonstrate class either. Money doesn’t buy class or manners.

I also like well behaved children who are mindful of others. I also like adults who don’t have their heads up their own backsides because they spend more money on holidays.

How vulgar.

I didn't actually perhaps it was your shock, horror, liberal use of very offensive words. Perhaps try not being xenophobic.

Yes you did your 22.16 post last night. Why do you keep asking me questions and then making out you are some victim - weird. Stop asking me questions and I won't answer them.

Ooh Belgrade sounds like an interesting travel destination
