British behaviour in holiday hotel

We are staying at a good all inclusive resort (yes, I know all inclusive is not high end, but this is about as good a one as you can get). I am just shocked and ashamed at fellow british people at breakfast time. Letting their kids make a huge mess by allowing them to get their own food. Huge amounts of wasted food. Multiple untouched plates left on tables. Total disregard for others barging round, blocking walkways etc. When did this become ok?? AIBU with expectations? Bear in mind this is not a cheap rubbish tui-blue type place. I dread to think what they are like!

Please don’t call TUI blue type places cheap and rubbish. They are still over £3k for a holiday and is the best that people can afford - don’t shit on others!

I was thinking this. I recently had a beautiful holiday in a Tui blue. The people in the restaurant were very well behaved, too; even the Brits. 🙄

You are being really weird. I don’t think other people are seeing what you’re seeing in these posts

I'm concerned about you perhaps leave the thread as you are full of prejudices that are deeply disturbing

Yes they are. Another poster on here told goldenbear that she was being strange and ridiculous.

Let me guess -you are goldenbear's second account?

I am glad that you had a nice holiday!

We are currently in a nice resort in the UK (estimate about 75% british occupancy). I haven't seen any young children helping themselves to the breakfast buffet without parental supervision so it seems surprising that you see this is a feature of brits staying in hotels

See again bit weird when a quick search would show you otherwise

Isn't that just for premium users? And how would a quick search prove anything. It would just prove that you have both posted before

You both need to get a room, of one kind or another. But take it away from here

Is that a room with half board and a balcony view?!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 26/05/2026 22:30

The worst I've seen was a French man who was honking snot out of his nose in the pool.

Because they are not Brits abroad. They are in their own country. People behave better in their own country , as the liklihood of bumping into someone they knowing is higher

I'm calling out the prejudice posts like your own, so as it is a public forum I'll carry on posting thanks.

Yes but what is the point in you posting the same thing 20 times? Can you not move on? People want to discuss other things on here

I doubt it's that. We're 200 miles from home, I'd be pretty surprised to randomly see someone I know.

For a start there are 70 million people living in the UK so it's not that likely you will bump into anybody. Why can't it just be that people are generally decent and well behaved home or abroad?

Goditsmemargaret · 26/05/2026 22:45

Goldenbear · 26/05/2026 22:00

It's amazing that you seem to know most Europeans or the world think of Brits as the worst tourists ever but were almost offended and didn't know that I was using another language to you on a few posts back so unaware of any other languages other than English- how ironic.

That gave me my first genuine LOL in a long time, thank you!

Yes, exactly and 70 million people live in the UK.

It's also a mindset of being able to be wild on holiday. I know a woman that told me this. She said that she will never have a sexual one night stand in the UK. She will only have one night stands on holiday as she feels more relaxed and free

But we are on holiday... Just in a (different) UK country not further afield
