AIBU to compare pro-Palestine and Tommy Robinson-led protests? Both involve hatred antisemitism or racism and both end up in trouble. Two cheeks of the same ass as I've heard on here before!

Pro-Palestine and Tommy Robinson-led protests this Saturday with yet again thousands of officers having to spend the day controling these protests. Surely there is a better way. Static protest or once a month for Gaza? I think Tommy's lot isn't weekly like the Gaza lot.

Antisemitism is a major problem and general racism also up. Armoured vehicles are needed now with the first time in 15 years to use them. Terror incidents have risen yet what have either of these 'protests' achieved apart from further divisions!

Stick them in separate areas and tell them to stand with their various placards and keep them there. They ave their virtue signalling and hate fuelled moments but stop annoying the rest of us and keep the costs down - it's costing millions of pounds.

Met call up armoured cars as London braces for a day of protests

In a package of measures billed as the toughest ever, 4,000 officers will be deployed to deal with the Tommy Robinson-led Unite the Kingdom rally and a pro-Palestine gathering to mark Nakba Day.

It’s an American influencer explaining why she takes money from Netanyahu to make posts at his behest. Hardly a conspiracy.

Sorry to derail but all influencers get paid somehow: influencers who are doing political comms/propaganda are being paid either by the people commissioning the material or via advertising or subscription.

If this woman is being paid by the Israeli government then there will be equivalent influencers who are working for Hamas. Its how propaganda works.

People singling out Israel as if it was the only country doing this are being conspiracist. Do you somehow think the Palestinians are above this and never sully their cause with the need for money?

I have no love for the Israeli government btw but this is a classic example of people making out that Israel is the only actor which makes propaganda. Its naive.

Wanting the Israeli army to stop killing children doesn't make you antisemitic. It's a view share by many Jews

Nor does wanting Hamas to stop killing their own in addition to raping and murdering Jewish people.

My sister is a marcher, we/she has her roots in Africa, there's plenty to campaign for re women across Africa, but she's brainwashed. I agreed with her stance when they went out to protect Brougham Terrace and against the EDL etc, but there's no debating this with her. She is a highly professional career woman, now in her 60s. We've had to pick her up from hospitals from around the country, after being injured on marches. She won't discuss why her and her friends don't march for the issues in this country.

I'd put a stop to that, you're a doormat. Tell her she can find her own way back from hospital from now on, you've done your bit. If she is going to keep putting herself in harms way for another country, actions have consequences and she can deal with it herself.

If you are making the claim that these Marches walk past synagogues, I want you to show me proof - show me a route map of one of the Marches that has walked past a synagogue.

I’m not pp, but here is a statement by the MET:

"We have had to intervene to change the route for 21 out of the 33 protests. On 17 of those occasions that intervention was necessary to protect Jewish communities because the organisers were trying to assemble near, march past or finish near synagogues. These marches always take place on Saturdays which is the Jewish holy day, when Jews are attending religious services.”

Protests by the Palestine Coalition and Stephen Yaxley-Lennon fall on the same day.

I mean - the people marching for Palestine are doing so to stop innocent people being killed by the Israeli government? The conditions there are heartbreaking for anyone to see, and have been for a long time.

Tommy Robinsons lot are wanting to stop multiculturalism in the UK

Yabu, they arent remotely the same.

What about the people Hamas are killing, by withholding aid from their own? By raping and murdering and genociding Jewish people? Hamas/Palestine are much much worse, the double standards are galling.

Being friendly to Israelis isn’t actually a crime y’know. I love how people accuse people of being a zionist as if it’s the same as being a nonce or something. Zionist just means you believe Israel has the right to exist.

I support the creation of a Palestinian state and I also recognise Israels right to exist. Thats not an unusual position. The alternative is the dissolution of an entire nation, and to me thats an extremist position vs believing a state that does exist has a perfect right to carry on existing.

I don’t approve of either groups tbh. If you have to keep asking people to not route their protests in a way that is clearly harassment of Jews then you are dealing with anti semites. Tommy Robinson is clearly anti-islam, which is a perfectly fine and legal, he’s just not allowed to harass muslims and if he does he needs to be sent home too.

Disingenuous reply. I said friend of the Israeli government, not friendly to Israelis. Not sure why you are conflating the two.

There is a long history of anti-semitism expressing itself by accusing Jews of killing children. This accusation is the latest iteration of it. I don’t think I have ever heard any other nation at work being accused of this, and certainly not for it to be the ‘go to’ accusation. And certainly not used against the Nation who did not start the war. It’s so clearly the modern blood libel. It’s got the same intent as it has over the centuries it’s been used against Jews: to monster and dehumanize them.

Israel is not killing children. Children are being killed in a war, just as they are in every war. There are two unusual things about this war (1) the government in Gaza are making no effort to protect their citizens ( built no bomb shelters, but did build an underground city of tunnels they are not letting civilians in which means more civilians, including children, are being killed than would if their government were protecting them and (2) lsrael has conducted the war in a way which means there is an exceptionally low combatant to civilian death rate for an urban war, even though that has increased casualties of Israel’s soldiers.

The fact that this vital context two is ignored by antizionists shows you the ‘killing children’ claim is a modern version of the ancient blood libel against Jews. It’s shameful.

A 'youtube clip'. Youtube, the bastion of cookers and far right conspiracist nutjobs and anti-vaxxers. That anyone proffers youtube as 'proof' of anything is embarrassing.

It's just yet another conspiracy theory from unhinged antisemitic racist nutters. Netanyahu is winning the war on the ground, he has no need to sit on Facebook or whatever and buy followers. You have to have to be very deeply unhinged to even consider that as a conspiracy theory.

Thats just so blatant isn’t it. There are so few Jews in the UK you really do have to go out of your way to go past a synagogue. Assholes.

You've dismissed it out of hand by refusing to watch it. It could be a public confession on the BBC youtube channel, but that won't matter to you. You've already lost the moral high ground by refusing to even consider you might be wrong.

If it was a public confession it would be on the BBC TV NEWS PRIME TIME, and ticker taped underneath all programmes.

Does no one use logic or common sense any more? Anyone proffering 'youtube' as proof lost the moral high ground and their minds. Coming up next: flat earthers say they have evidence of earth being flat. Some crusty guy created a clip in his bedroom and uploaded it to youtube.

You people are the salmon that actually jumps on the hook.

So this didn’t happen?

It’s antisemitic to talk about Jad’s killing?

Soldiers killing children can’t be discussed if the soldiers are Jewish?

Really?

Bwhahaha oh what a fucking joke, this gets even worse. An 'influencer' claims she gets money from Netanyahu. Oh, weeellll!! If an INFLUENCER says it, it must be true!

And you just believe her?

Christ you will believe anything. Not even an 8 year old would fall for that. You'd believe anything an 'influencer' from America said if it backed your agenda. But should self respect kick in somewhere?

Influencer. FMD.

Youtube is just a platform. It has reliable content, unreliable content and utter trash, the same as any other platform. Saying you never trust youtube because there's flat earthers on it is the same as saying you don't trust satellite tv because it has the Hallmark channel. That's just nonsense.

Hallamule · 15/05/2026 09:27

Point 1 agree with you absolutely. Point 2 no, they've gone out of their way to ensure the people of Gaza suffer as much as possible.

Greenwitchart · 15/05/2026 09:33

The Palestine marches include people who simply want to protest about innocent children being killed in Gaza and an entire population losing their homes and are about the Isreal government actions.

That's a perfectly valid view to express and certainly does not equate to antisemitism and as some people have mentioned there are jewish people taking part in these protests too.

Ultimately we should cherish our right to protest in this country because this is what being a democracy is about.

If people become violent and express hate speech then that is a different matter and of course the police should intervene, but you cannot just silence people simply because you don't like their views about Israel policy & behaviour when it comes to the Gaza Strip.

Robinson's marches are always about hating immigrants/foreigners and expressing far right views. It is not comparable to people being appalled by the Gaza population being bombed out of existence...

It beggars belief. You have to have no self respect to believe some random influencer. That type of poster would no doubt believe a 'youtube clip' showing Covid was a 'plandemic'.
