It could be a good thing for Labour if someone like him was in charge - at least it sounds like he would have some conviction & be decisive!

He wouldn't stand a chance with the backbenchers. I agree his being PM would be the equivalent of a real old fashioned copper being in charge of the Met. It won't ever be allowed to happen under the current political two main party system. Kemi is the nearest we've got though to seeing some much needed pragmatism instead of Starmer non committal waffle. We've simply got no leadership and are very vulnerable at present.

As he is a former Royal marine, I can't begin to understand why Carns sits on that side of the Commons.

Was he elected for the first time in the last general election? Maybe he saw that he would stand more chance of getting in standing as Labour. Perhaps he will switch sides before the next election?

Good point. He might be showing the same level of conniving as a few Green party candidates, but with more favour to protecting Britain than the Middle East.

Pigs might fly. Dan Jarvis was a major in the Parachute Regiment, presumably he doesn’t have conviction either? Occasional politicians highlight and challenge our innate bias, I could never understand why John Major was a Tory.

Like many I will never ever vote Tory again after what they did to this country with Brexit. And still they never mention it. Funny that.

Why on earth wouldn’t someone who is ex military want to serve on the Labour/Liberal benches? Historically there have always been a sizeable number on both Labour and Liberal benches.

Kemi picking apart the social media ban for under 16s. Great in theory but a ban that's easily penetrable.

He right and so is Kemi when she says its another example of Labour not knowing what they are doing.
