To start to think reform will be voted in next time, and they will be running the country

I’ve been a life long labour voter, but I’m starting to think reform will be elected next time
mainly just due to so many criminals that want to harm us being allowed in and allowed to stay
and uncontrolled immigration

I think they are going to win it on this reason alone
every single day there’s a news story usually more than one someone’s been raped by one of these criminals one the other day even said he didn’t understand what rape is and he thought rape was just sex

what do you all think ?
Will reform be running the country soon ?
if they are are the capable of running things in other areas ?
if they take over how do you see that actually panning out ?

Anything ‘might’ happen - and that’s exactly how all these headlines are constructed - and why not they clearly work!

Rationally, they wouldn’t all want to come here. In actual realistic terms of what is happening they certainly don’t all come here with other countries taking, or hosting, many many more.

Plenty of bad people everywhere - they should be punished.
Not everyone is bad.
Over 120m people are currently displaced in the world - this needs accepting and a humanitarian response providing.
I prefer to live in a humane country that tries to help and offers refuge.

Fun fact - I live bang opposite a hotel of asylum claimants - I recognise none of the issues that are bandied about - I am more troubled by the white drug dealers and users also sitting close by - or I would be if I felt such an urge to make it my business to get upset and complain and cry.

Giving them the free right to move here is a risk. They could take up on it. If you leave your house unlocked there's a higher chance of a break in. This is why we lock our doors and have burglar alarms.

Lots of people have had BAD experiences with the hotels. Rhiannon Whyte died.

Everyone has the right to claim asylum

Hotels were set on fire with people inside

Many people do seem to have a problem with providing accommodation and healthcare for refugees.

You have seen the hotel shouters, articles on the subject in the media, threads on MN?

I am sure you can imagine the outrage if people were to be brought here by ferry rather than small boat.

Even on this thread it is being said that they don't want people from backwards countries here.

Ok but you’re moving on from the basic and understandable reason many people would leave horrendous camps.

Edited

I have always understood why people would leave horrendous camps Confused

Reform is proposing to build them in the UK

And as it is based on one income only rather than shared income, most people will qualify for child benefits.

We did.

I was a single parent anyway so there was only one income.

Ok so why the argument over many wanting to come here if barriers are removed?

Why do you actively want to cause harm to UK communities? Why did you want to put British women at increased risk?

Because I thought that was what you were suggesting.

I asked you to clarify

The fact remains that the majority of refugees seek asylum near their home country.

Everyone has the right to claim asylum

They do under our current laws. We should change it. It's obviously not benefitting us. It's actively damaging us. Many other nations do not have this. India doesn't, for security reasons and to control who comes in.

Because the majority of asylum seekers do not cause harm or put British women at risk.

Easy scapegoats with a huge sprinkle of racism

Again. All the attacks, assaults and even murders are just something British women just have to unfortunately put up with? A few might happen, just bear it?

International law.

Why don't you research it a bit more?

If you are genuinly concerned about women, don't vote Reform

Yes and if the U.K. made it easier demand would go up.

Would that be so bad?

I thought your main concern was the dangerous journey and crossing?

I’d like an answer on how to manage an attractive process. Polanski for example won’t answer any question on limits.

It’s hard to know how viable his approach is if he can’t answer that.

If anyone can answer how many do you envisage then great, I’m up for hearing how it would work.

TopPocketFind · 07/05/2026 15:13

I can't because I am not an expert and I think it will depend a lot on world events and climate change

Treating refugees as human beings would be a good start to the debate.

EasternStandard · 07/05/2026 15:15

If no one can, including politicians who are advocating for a new system, then it’s hard to know how viable the proposals are.

climbintheback · 07/05/2026 15:22

Did you see the faux gay club on tv full of faux gay Asians? - the mind boggles at all these loopholes - tell these countries if you don’t guarantee safety of gays then no visas till they do - simple!

TopPocketFind · 07/05/2026 15:32

If no one can, including politicians who are advocating for a new system, then it’s hard to know how viable the proposals are.

And it's not unique to the UK.

Closer cooperation with the EU/European countries will be required.

And that is nothing something Reform is about to do.

But per capita wise... All the data from here. The data from our neighbours in the continent. The fact that these countries are atrocious for VAWG, yet you seem fine with welcoming these men in?

International law.

International law only applies if the country chooses to ratify and implements it.

It does not force us to do anything unless UK parliament implements it (usually via a statutory instrument). We can unimplement (if that's a work) it.
