To start to think reform will be voted in next time, and they will be running the country

I’ve been a life long labour voter, but I’m starting to think reform will be elected next time
mainly just due to so many criminals that want to harm us being allowed in and allowed to stay
and uncontrolled immigration

I think they are going to win it on this reason alone
every single day there’s a news story usually more than one someone’s been raped by one of these criminals one the other day even said he didn’t understand what rape is and he thought rape was just sex

what do you all think ?
Will reform be running the country soon ?
if they are are the capable of running things in other areas ?
if they take over how do you see that actually panning out ?

Because they will be needed for a while - until the message gets across.

Who is going to pay for these detention camps?

Changingplace · 04/05/2026 09:49

Greyblankie · 04/05/2026 09:33

I support it 100%. We simply can’t have undocumented males from 3rd world countries wandering the streets. It won’t be needed for long anyway, once people realise that coming here illegally simply gets you detained and deported they’ll stop coming.

No they won’t, because the people smuggling gangs aren’t being dealt with and they will continue to take money off people and tell them whatever they want to hear.

I’m glad Labour taxed private education. It can go towards improving the buildings and facilities for state funded children.

It was meant to go towards the additional 6,500 teachers. It looks like people are realising it was pre GE spin.

ViciousCurrentBun · 04/05/2026 09:52

Why don’t people believe that any people that voted Labour will vote Reform? The trade Union movement which was decidedly Labour at the time were vehemently ant immigration in the 1970’s. Real old labour is far less likely to be interested in identity politics and the like which has been very much dominant regarding the left wing of recent years.

I’m old labour I was involved with the trade Union movement when they started changing from the party of the working person to the party of welfare. I am not a Reform voter and never will be but the Labour Party have totally lost the plot. When a Labour canvasser turns up on your doorstep and is more concerned with Identity politics which happened to me in the last GE and you tell them you were a trade unionist who can no longer vote Labour and they are still banging on about identity politics you just despair. I helped write a councils first equal opportunities policy when I was a very young woman, decades ago and she spoke to me like I was a complete idiot because I didn’t agree with her,

  1. You do know that schools can reclaim 10 years worth of VAT for prior CAPEX, don’t you?
  2. How many of the promised 6,500 state school teachers have been recruited to date (ignoring natural wastage figures)?
Goldenbear · 04/05/2026 09:53

EasternStandard · 04/05/2026 09:48

If the local elections go as predicted then they’re out of touch and people have probably realised the folly of policies such as the VAT one. And other stuff.

That wasn't what I was arguing though. I am stating back in 2024 (which does seem a long time ago in terms of world events) but actually the GE has not even reached it's 2 year anniversary, people voting for Labour which was a Landslide victory, are they all evil child haters as that is what this poster is suggesting as they would have known about the private school tax policy- of course they weren't and aren't, they wanted change and not the status quo after years of austerity who can blame people!

You don’t spend tens of millions on something you don’t need for long, surely?

Its a sound investment if it saves you many billions in the long run.

How is VAT on private schools an 'Identity Politics' policy? Surely it's fair and square a socialist one?

But we don’t spend billions on asylum seekers.

Ok, how much is the accommodation, food, healthcare etc costing us then?

The new rules of taxing private schools was implemented in Jan 2025, it takes time to train new teachers, did you think there were 6,500 teachers already sitting around waiting for a job to appear?

A lot more than if they were allowed to work.

Surely the issue is funding hence unions balloting

https://neu.org.uk/latest/press-releases/schools-running-empty-it-time-save-education

“Rather than arresting this decline, Labour has chosen Austerity 2.0.

“This government has the brass neck to ask for more out of less. The results of that strategy will be worse for children, not better. It is time to stand up and save education.”

ETA The Times is running a more recent headline on this, three days ago.

I'm under no obligation to provide anything at all actually, I'm not the one making ridiculous claims that run counter to things that we all know to be true.

The 6,500 new teachers figure is a target for the end of Parliament, it’s an ongoing plan, you can’t magic up thousands of new teachers out of thin air, they need recruiting, training etc.

A quick google tells me this plan is actually on track.

The number of full-time equivalent secondary and special school teachers increased by 2,346 during Labour’s first year in office

If you care about education, especially SEN, you would not vote Reform.

Greyblankie · 04/05/2026 10:15

TopPocketFind · 04/05/2026 09:46

And once build, they stay.

Any idea how much this gimmick will cost the tax payer?

In the long run … probably less than we spend on housing and feeding illegals immigrants for years on end. Plus money will be saved on the scrapping of benefits for foreign nationals.
