It looks weird and it makes me feel uncomfortable when I open the app, there was a giant cardboard one in store as well. Can someone tell me when they’ve all gone and I’ll think about coming back!

Oh. Yeah I actually kind of hate that.

SingedSoul · 03/05/2026 05:35

Looks like disease

Lifesyoungdream · 03/05/2026 05:35

He looks like he is made from rotting decaying fruit and vegetables.😂

SingedSoul · 03/05/2026 05:38

A ball pool that would make you smell like rot.

steff13 · 03/05/2026 05:42

He reminds me of the Trash Heap from Fraggle Rock.

Really annoying

ThatLemonBear · 03/05/2026 05:58

Agreed, a marketing fail on Tesco’s part IMO, the TV ad for it is awful!

Spottyvases · 03/05/2026 06:13

You're not wrong OP - I watched the TV advert and thought it was both stupid and weird 😂 Not a fan here.

Can we also add in the blue hairy family on the British Gas advert as being stupid, annoying, and so not 'cute' ?

moose62 · 03/05/2026 06:22

I saw the advert and immediately had to switch it off. I suffer from trypophobia and it made me itch all over!

OvernightBloats · 03/05/2026 06:42

See what you mean. The monster looks strangely unhealthy like it has got some kind of disease.

Reminds me of this advert which was banned after lots of complaints - BBC digital heads which had lots of small heads on one big head. It was scary!

bluevelvetbox · 03/05/2026 06:42

It makes my skin crawl and I began to get itchy! I feel the same OP and don't like opening the app!

cafenoirbiscuit · 03/05/2026 06:44

Ewwww
cant unsee that now 🤮

GeorgianFavade · 03/05/2026 06:46

Interesting. I love it. Look at his big gormless face. What’s not to like?

Imsickofbenandholly · 03/05/2026 06:46

Omg I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!!!

Watercooler · 03/05/2026 06:47

I find it really irritating when corporations go on about these type of things. So you're providing some (enough?) fruit and veg for 500 schools. Do it for every school with your £billion profits and stop promoting junk at the same time. Twats.

Hamela · 03/05/2026 06:53

It makes me think of a huge pile of the food Tesco wastes every day. Also, it's fat?! Shouldn't it be healthier and cleverer looking, to promote healthier eating? Or is it more accessible to the British public to appear this way :-/

It also makes me think of bruised fruit. And profligate waste. Is it just a tax dodge from Tesco, handing out a few tangerines to the poors instead of addressing the rapid rise on food costs and wages of their higher ups?

😂😂 such a succinct and perfect comment. Made me laugh

I am so glad someone else has this issue - I saw it in the shop and it made me feel physically sick 😅

I agree. Use this monster for greater good, to get Tesco to help every school. Not just a small number.

Funnywonder · 03/05/2026 07:11

Just opened the app and yes, he (definitely a he🤣) is there. Thanks for that …

I have never noticed him before. Has he been there long? Even his smile looks uncomfortable, like he’s smiling through the pain of his fruit related carbuncles.

ItsJustMeMyself · 03/05/2026 07:19

Most UK adverts infantilise adults with this type of nonsense i.e. Cushelle bear, Duracell bunny and the most annoying and inane of all, Compare the Market meerkats.

It's almost as pathetic as Japan.

Edited

That digital heads one in bizzare! Don't remember it from the time, but just googled it.
