At your school, what were the 3 most popular girls called?

And, if applicable, what are the 3 most popular girls at your dc' school called?

At my school it was Alexandra (Alex), Natalie, and Christine.

At my dc's school it's Natalie, Jessica and Sophia

Light hearted nonsense to while away a not so happy day.

Lolita, Natasza and Chanette.

Where did you go to school?

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/05/2026 21:05

Sarah (Jane), Sarah (Jane), Sarah (Jane), Kelly (Jean), Kelly Jane, Kelly Jane, Sarah (but she spelled it Sara), Esther, Mary (Jane), Michelle, Michelle, Michelle, Sally (Ann), Sally Anne, Tracey, Tracy, Tracy (but she spelled it Tracie), Tracey (but she spelled it Traci).

Just missed the cut off point for the Carol/Carole Anne/Ann armies, as they were my sister's age range (and her name, too).

I did wonder whether it was the law for anybody with an S or K name to have a middle name beginning with J or A. I'm sure it was definitely compulsory for all Carols to have Ann/e.

All achingly cool. All extremely unkind.

Cool? Unkind? Whilst being named TOADY and BUG????

😂😂😂

It does seem odd, I can see that. Obviously they had proper names but we had a ridiculously large number of girls with insane nicknames that they had had from birth and were known as (and still are!).

At my first primary school Caroline and Tracey

At the second one it was Lisa and Michelle

Did you not learn counting at your school?

ilovepixie · 01/05/2026 21:58

Went to boarding school and We didn’t have popular girls. We had people we were more friendly with but we all got on well, we are still friends 40 odd years later despite being scattered around the world!

MasterBeth · 01/05/2026 21:59

Laura, laura & lindsay in one class

Jo, sam & claire in another

Names really age you. I knew loads of people named sarah, vicky, Nicola, claire, jenny, laura

There isn't a single child with those names in my kids school its all Isla and chloe and olivia and amelia.

Very true. My son asked me once why I know so many people called Gemma and Kelly!

Penkie · 01/05/2026 22:15

Leila, Claire, Rochelle

HortiGal · 01/05/2026 22:18

Gillian, Stephanie and Lyndsay

MississippiCroc · 01/05/2026 22:30

Kelly, Sarah, Becky, Emma, Nicki, Tracey. They all got pregnant whilst still at school and still live in our home town.

HaveYouHadYourBreak · 01/05/2026 22:30

Natalie, Victoria and Zoe but tbh they were such popular names anyway that statistically there was guaranteed to be popular girls with those names.

Lifelover16 · 01/05/2026 22:38

Jackie
Linda
Bernadette
They were only popular because all the other kids were afraid of them.

Very true. My son asked me once why I know so many people called Gemma and Kelly!

I am not making this up I currently have TEN Emmas on my Facebook friend list. And I properly know every one of them.

I know three Gemmas, four Kellys and two Michelles.

My best friend now and best friend in school were both called Gemma.
