I'd say nouveau riche (but not that riche).

Interior wise, the decor is following some recent trends in the mass market end of interior design.

Ricecakes101 · 30/04/2026 21:27

Nothing about that house says middle class to me.

Trampoline · 30/04/2026 21:27

OP, are you really meaning to ask if it's middle class? Or do you mean something else like household income?

WildGarden · 30/04/2026 21:27

What do you think @Inburess and why do you ask?

EasternStandard · 30/04/2026 21:27

No but why do you ask

Indeed. It’s a bit ‘Southfork’ in Dallas. Big. No class.

Upstartled · 30/04/2026 21:29

Oh, give over. I know people like to think that they can cling to their middle class status in their terrace with nothing more than a full bookcase and framed degree certificate hung up in the downstairs loo, but that home belongs to a middle class family.

Inburess · 30/04/2026 21:29

I’m looking at a similar house (in a slightly different area) and I suppose wanted to know what people would think of me if I lived somewhere like that! I know it’s shallow!

We have a hot tub. Blame the previous owners who left it. We are definitely upper end of middle class, arguably in my case aristocracy.

RonnieCharter · 30/04/2026 21:30

I have this house. It’s the Richmond by Redrow. Cost us £850k down South. We are a dual income household over £200k income combined. I grew up in a council house. My decor is massively different to the one linked but I don’t think OP meant the decor. I’d class it as middle class.

It really doesn’t though. The furniture isn’t even inherited. 😆

Minesril · 30/04/2026 21:30

What’s the difference between a living room and a sitting room?

The people who know you will still think the same about you.
Does it matter what people who don't know you think about you?

@WildGarden yes that’s a fair point

What? If you like the house, the area and can afford it, what the house is then like is up to you. Is this you "worrying" about a new build and some perceived snobbery about them?

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 30/04/2026 21:34

Bit surprised it was built in 2019. They don’t build house like that round here!

Appleski · 30/04/2026 21:34

More "nouveau riche" there is not much cultural capital on display in that home. I also know quite a few working class doing well for themselves who live in a house like that.

ApolloandDaphne · 30/04/2026 21:35

I would say aspirationally middle class. Someone working class trading up. Nothing wrong with that.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 30/04/2026 21:36

Not really. I'd expect to see art on the walls, books on the shelves and a different style of furniture, either classic, mid century or high quality modern design.
This looks more lower class with a bit of money. Nothing wrong with that, obviously.

Pixiedust49 · 30/04/2026 21:36

Garden is very overlooked. And small.

momager22 · 30/04/2026 21:37

Th decor is a bit ‘home bargains’ lots of
fake plants and it’s a new build so I’d say no it’s not mc - more like wc on a decent wage.

BobbieTables · 30/04/2026 21:37

It's a nice house, loads of space, decent sized garden. I think the garden needs loads more plants!
I wouldn't be able to make a class judgement about the person who lived there. Decor is a little bit boring and there's no books or clutter, but that's what you do when you're selling a house.

GuineaPigWig · 30/04/2026 21:37

Yeah it’s very new money (and really not that much money). Nothing about the decor says middle class to me. Looks like it should have a Live Laugh Love decal on the walls. Non-league football wife standard.

GreatWhiteWail · 30/04/2026 21:38

Bit soulless.

It's definitely a house for someone not struggling for money, but it's all a bit try-hard and meh.

ilovepixie · 30/04/2026 21:42

Why does it matter?
