It’s me by the way and that’s the case for my clothes

OP posts:
IsThistheMiddleofNowhere · 27/04/2026 07:38

I dont think I'd notice

Sadcafe · 27/04/2026 07:41

Walking around the clothes in Tesco yesterday, commented to DW, feels like there’s only the supermarkets and primark that sell clothes anymore, i know others still do,but they are often the easily accessible ones, so why wouldn’t people wear them

Blueuggboots · 27/04/2026 08:00

How would I know where your clothes were from??!

aCatCalledFawkes · 27/04/2026 08:10

No, I always think it's how you wear clothes anyway. Navy blue for a example is a terrible colour on me, doesn't matter if it's tesco or some trendy expensive shop, it's still a bad colour on me.

then you are missing out. I dont know about Tesco but Sainsburys has a far nicer range than M&S and the quality is similar and in some cases, better. But the cost is much less!

I must agree, M&S womenswear buyers have lost the plot in the lady couple of years. The prices are ridiculous and the styles are very strange. I used to buy a lot of my business clothing and always underwear from M&S but rarely shop there now apart from the odd treat from the food hall. Mostly shop at Matalan, Primark, TU and Next.

sesquipedalian · 27/04/2026 08:40

OP, nobody will judge where your clothes are from. It’s how you put yourself together, and whether or not your clothes are clean and well presented that people notice.

LiveLuvLaugh · 27/04/2026 09:34

If you buy cheaper clothes so you can have loads of new clothes I would - I would only know if you told me. But otherwise absolutely not.

I agree with this. I judge influencers who do a primark haul every week, but its the fast fashion overconsumption I have an issue with, and you know the working conditions are awful. Same with shein/temu. I buy most of my clothes second hand, so its an ethical/environmental thing rather than snobbishness. Supermarkets can have really nice clothes, no judgement there!

Daftypants · 27/04/2026 10:48

No , I wouldn’t judge and how would I know where you got your clothes from anyway ?
my own clothes are a real mix from different shops .

Depends. If you were on a high wage and couldn’t be bothered to spend more, yes. If you couldn’t afford to buy more expensive clothes, no.

Im so intrigued by this answer!!!! Is it the environmental thing or are you judging based on the look etc?

Thechaseison71 · 27/04/2026 10:57

I wouldn't even know where cyhe clothes had come from TBH

Victoriangirl1900 · 25/04/2026 23:25

I remember when you wouldn't be seen dead in BWise. If your friends found out your parents got your clothes from BWise you got picked on for it.

Haha as a teenager my best friend and I used to sneak into whatever the unfashionable shop was at the time. We would check no one we knew around as w6e went it. Inside was ok as they would've been in there themselves so couldn't say anything. Then we would sacan to see if safe to go out and we would have the clothes in a daisy bag lol

No outgrown this behaviour

IhateBegonias · 27/04/2026 17:09

Nope. That’s all I wear

I was about to say that surely no one is that shallow…

Sartre · 27/04/2026 17:41

Conversely I would judge someone who judged a person for wearing clothes from Tesco or whatever. I don’t see how anyone could even know where your clothes were from unless they also shop there so recognise it.

Madarch · 27/04/2026 18:04

No.

Madarch · 27/04/2026 18:06

Shein on the other hand...

cupfinalchaos · 27/04/2026 18:11

Judge them in what way?

Beachwalker66 · 27/04/2026 18:20

I wouldn’t notice

gettingonfor40 · 27/04/2026 19:18

Definitely not.

Supermarket brand clothing is good quality ime.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 27/04/2026 19:33

How would I even know?

XenoBitch · 27/04/2026 22:02

Not at all. I live in Primark stuff. Clothing to me is just a way to cover my body. Comfort is what matters to me.
