Could Zack Polanski be any more of an obnoxious twat?

Just seen him saying this:

'I am concerned about the rise in antisemitism and we know Jewish communities are saying they feel unsafe. There is a conversation to be had over whether it's a perception that they feel unsafe or whether they are actually unsafe.'

WTAF? Can you imagine if a politician said that to Muslims after a series of absolutely awful targeted attacks where people have died?

People don’t need to protest everything, but it is interesting how many choose the hyper-focus in Israel.

Lots of people hyper focus on whatever cause is important to them. So?

Why are they picking specifically Israel to obsess over?
Haven’t seen anywhere near as much outrage about how the Iranian regime is behaving, including towards their own people.
Even more so, there have been several documented instances of people showing support for the Iranian regime during various pro-Palestine marches in the UK. Strange that.

Because Jews.

Agree 100% and that's why Jews are feeling threatened in the UK. No doubt the pro-Palestine lobby would think that was a good thing.

DeposedPresident · 01/05/2026 10:59

Well- when you have people standing for election in what is essentially a mainstream party who post openly Jews are vermin and they'd love to watch them die then it's no wonder Jews are afraid. That rhetoric is all around. Or you have this:

Or this:

or this in Australia

There is so much of this out there. But good-ol Zack thinks Jewish people just have a 'perception' of danger and sympathies should lie with the poor little terrorist who got hit by police.

A screen shot of the two health workers involved in the video

Australian nurses stood down over ‘vile’ antisemitic video

The footage appeared to show the pair threatening to kill and refuse to treat Israeli patients.

Not only that, she's still standing as far as I'm aware. She also wrote 'God’s people: the chosen ones. Tell me again not to wish death on these shits.' Said 'vermin need to be killed,' and wrote fantasies of seeing Israelis die.

Oh wow!

These people have been emboldened by the current political climate and the inaction of the government. There was one last night on here (different thread) - busily making up lies, negative generalisations and dredging up every last ounce of criticism she could find to attack Jews. Crazy.

My sympathy for Jews in the U.K, and particularly London has increased further.

Yes - the majority sentiment is always 'Israelis, not Jews,' are being hated, and it's Israel's fault. It is a ridiculous and meaningless distinction that they think is a genius loophole. Nazis hating Jews not for their religion, but their race, was no 'better' than the previous hate. This is no better than the previous hate either.

Yes but lots of people are very easily told what should be important to them. There’s a much bigger picture here, a whole swathe of people who desperately want to be seen as the righteous, it’s like a cult. All they need to be told is “believe this and you’re one of the good guys” it’s like pre packaged righteousness kit. if you join the following rhetoric you’re one of the good guys

Anti - Israel (which also includes anti Jewish sentiments - but they deny this

Pro immigration

Anti- brexit

pro BLM

pro trans

pro LGBTQ+

3rd+ wave feminism

They ignore other atrocities being carried out throughout the world (esp by communist and Islamic states - should give a clue who is directing them)

often anti- police (unless they need them)

They appear incapable of seeing the massive gaps and hypocrisy in their righteousness - some races deserve protection, others don’t. Some areas of diversity should be protected, others vilified.

Rather than being the righteous they are invariably stupid, useful idiots who cannot see the bigger picture at all.

DeposedPresident · 01/05/2026 11:39

@Ficinothricegreat You have articulated this so so perfectly.

Was it a poster on a now deleted thread (also about Zack Polanski, I think)?
I saw someone claim that the NHS had gifted the London Jews their special ambulances, that the government was allowing them to have their “vigilantes” groups and the taxpayers were tired of subsidising all that.
It was quite a bizarre post, pompous and self-righteous, yet full of misinformation.

hazelnutvanillalatte · 28/04/2026 14:03

What do you think these 'perpetrators' would do if surrounding countries stopped attacking them and dropped the goal of exterminating them?

Did Iran attack Israel? No, Israel bombed them last year as a ‘preemptive strike’ and then again this year, for what reason?

Israel has nuclear weapons, Iran doesn’t. Israel has bombed Iran with no provocation for the last 2 years. Israel is now invading Lebanon and seizing land, slaughtering civilians as they go.

But it’s OK, because it’s Israel and we’re not allowed to criticise Israel. They’re committing genocide, they’ve attacked every single one of their neighbouring countries, but you don’t want to admit that Israel is the problem here. Give it a rest.

Yes, Iran attacked Israel...Hezbollah is an Iranian proxy.

Oh good, you've found another thread about antisemitism to deflect and derail.

nomas · 01/05/2026 14:33

The poster brought up hard left, I brought up the hard right. Is that OK with you?

It’s nothing to do with the Greens. All it is is deflection and whataboutery.

What’s the purpose of the deflection, in your eyes? Are you thinking there’s only a binary choice between Greens and Reform? If so, why?

Are you uncomfortable with the Greens being criticised and feel you can’t stand that, so have to deflect elsewhere? If so, why?

If you want to start a thread about Reform nobody will stop you and there will be ample talking fodder and I expect ioh’ll get lots of engagement.

But this deflecting doesn’t work here.

The whole thread is about the left, hard left I’d say. The poster didn’t just randomly 'bring it up'.

Hopefully, people will realise that before they pop their X down. Do we really want more hatred, more terrorist attacks, more marches that do nothing for the people they say they are marching for, more chanting idiots on the streets every single weekend.

Unfortunately there's a subset of the type of people Polanski appeals to who want exactly that, and clearly he's hoping there are enough of them to translate to electoral success

For obvious reasons I'm hoping he's wrong, but time will tell - and if they do actually do well we'll have a bigger problem than I thought

Hopefully the Greens might lose a few votes after the appalling comments which Polanski retweeted criticising the police who tackled the Golders Green attacker. That really was an own goal.

Sadly I don't think he will. The people who are going to vote Green agree with him on that subject. They are of the opinion that the police are always in the wrong and should be defunded anyway, and anyone doing/saying anything horribly antisemetic is simply fighting the good fight for Gaza.

Lots of them are only going to vote Green simply because they align over Gaza. The Muslim contingent have dumped the Labour party and moved to the Greens on this issue alone. They are trying their best to pretend they don't mind or haven't noticed the blue haired trans contingent and the gay men in S&M gear at all the rallies.

Yes, you may be right. We will see at the local elections coming up.

Perhaps the only positive is being able to watch the unravelling of the alliance between the Muslim faction and the trendy-lefty-trans brigade!

Very true, @HeadDeskHeadDesk, but on the offchance they get many people elected it would certainly be fun watching them fighting like cats in a sack over who "should" be representing the party and who's considered unacceptable

Tekknonan · 01/05/2026 18:34

I don't get what's wrong with it, especially as Polanski, as a Jewish man, will be well-versed on what it's like to be on the receiving end of anti-Semitism. We are seeing the term 'anti-Semitism' being weaponised all the time. To criticise Israel for its treatment of the Palestinians and its constant breaking of international law is not anti-Semitic, but a lot of people (and a fair number of political chancers who are worried about Polanski's popularity) are saying just this.

Anti-Semitism is vile and Polanski has never said different. Being anti-Israeli policies and behaviour and anti-extreme Zionism is not anti-Semitic.

Polanski is that rare animal - an honest politician. Welcome him.
