Just seen him saying this:

'I am concerned about the rise in antisemitism and we know Jewish communities are saying they feel unsafe. There is a conversation to be had over whether it's a perception that they feel unsafe or whether they are actually unsafe.'

WTAF? Can you imagine if a politician said that to Muslims after a series of absolutely awful targeted attacks where people have died?

Some of their policies seem to make sense if you haven’t too much grasp on how an economy actually works.

Well yes, they would. 😂

It's the easiest thing in the world to come up with policies that are popular and that make everyone's lives nicer. We could all do that if we didn't have to worry about the economy.

Yes:
Free bus transport for the under 22s, the rest subsidised.
More affordable house building.
Rent freezes.
Rent caps
£15 ph minimum wage
... just what people would like, but what governments are unable to deliver unless there's a huge increase in taxation.

And which taxes would you increase? The higher earners are already maxed out tax wise. It’s the low earners who are paying a pitiful amount but they’re paid a pitiful amount too in comparison to their housing costs so we can’t raise taxes there either.

We cannot raise taxes any more. We need to reduce spending instead. Shame Zak doesn’t understand this.

Exactly. It's a non starter. This programme would literally cost £ billions.
It's so easy to say what should be free/subsidised.
Easy to spend theoretical money to gain votes.

MaturingCheeseball · 27/04/2026 15:21

The immigration! It would be carnage with vast camps here. Admitting people suffering from climate change? Well, that’s basically anyone from mid-Italy down to the bottom of the African continent. That’s a lot of universal basic income that’s going to have to be paid out.

Dispiritingly in my local town there are masses of Green posters up. In very nice houses. What prats.

ScarlettOYara · 27/04/2026 15:22

"We want to see a world without borders".
That'll work 🙄

Tax the 300 or so billionnaires in the UK 100% and pay for the NHS for a year! That'll work!

Same in my area. Nice big houses, low crime rate, top state schools, lots of woodland, lots of 4x4s .
Loads of Green Party placards.

Good thinking! Perhaps put them in a work camp.

Are these people just idiots? Are they not capable of thinking? Do they still think the Green Party are the cuddly environmentalists we always used to use for our protest votes? Have they really been paying that little attention?

MaturingCheeseball · 27/04/2026 15:57

I honestly think the drip drip drip of the “right side of history” narrative has led to a sizeable number of people not giving a damn if Jews were all hounded out of the country with a suitcase each. Likewise the “be kind” mantra which basically means a top trumps of victimhood.

I was watching a YouTube book video and the YouTuber was getting a pasting because “Victorian England was imperialist yada yada” - so you can’t discuss, I don’t know, David Copperfield because The Past Is Evil. The level of intolerance and ignorance is horrible.

That would have sounded implausible to me at one time and even now I'm inclined to think it has to be a massive exaggeration. However, my son runs a business and needs to communicate daily with dozens of members of the public via email. He said 'mum, my business partner warned me that the average person is incredibly stupid and I thought he was being unfair. But no, it turns out he's right. I am staggered every day by just how incredibly stupid so many people are.'

He's given me some examples and wow, he's not wrong. 😂

I deal with the public, I'm also a member of the public. Your son hasn't got any unique insight ( your post is a bit cringy to be honest)

I know the public are stupid as they voted for Brexit and STILL believe what the grifting chancer Farage says.

Politics now is just about who can tell the most believable lies, and Reform Ltd are the best bullshitters around at the moment.

CornishDaughteroftheDawn · 27/04/2026 16:31

It really does feel like many people have lost their mind.

I am utterly mystified at how anyone can look at ZP and MA and their dangerous and unfeasible policies and consider giving them a vote.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 17:54

If ZP wasn’t a young trendy man I don’t think many would take him seriously, but even I admit has a certain charisma ( for young people ) and the whole ‘ sticking it to the man ‘ will be popular with some people who feel that they are being left behind.
It’s all unworkable nonsense though , I liked Hannah Spencer’s speech at first , but it soon transcended into the kind of policies and beliefs that would bankrupt you within months. Open borders is a nightmare, where will everyone live?
I read they will do well in Camden apparently.

ScarlettOYara · 27/04/2026 17:55

Would open borders work in the Middle East, I wonder?

Chersfrozenface · 27/04/2026 17:56

What do they know of real life, who only Camden know?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/04/2026 18:06

His interview was a car crash of epic proportions on GM tv and he just didn’t seem to grasp what was being asked of him

I wouldn't expect him to, @the80sweregreat; it seems he's not there to develop anything sensible, but to spout soundbites for the kind of people incapable of thinking beyond them

The idea of him actually trying to run a government's unthinkable, but luckily I very much doubt it'll ever come to that

MaturingCheeseball · 27/04/2026 18:10

They hide the Mothin Ali person - I’m not quite getting how his burka-clad wife marries up with the gyrating bondage crew on that stage with Zack Polanski and Hannah Spencer. I doubt if they’d like her greyhounds, for a start.

5MinuteArgument · 27/04/2026 18:34

I'm disappointed the Greens have gone over to the Islamo-Left instead of the tree-huggers of old. I'm a bit of a tree-hugger myself and I won't be able to use them as a protest vote anymore.

I agree! This party may as well be called the ‘ new Greens’

5MinuteArgument · 27/04/2026 18:40

I think they'll get votes from young people because of the housing crisis. Young people are priced out of owning a home and rents are astronomical. As long as we tolerate this crazy situation, parties like the Greens will pick up votes.

Not that their policies will help, especially open borders.

Do they really think we can build the country out of a housing crisis when simultaneously feeding the crisis with their open borders policy?

And where will water, electricity and sewer capacity come from? How green is that?

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 18:46

That’s ok Chardonnay!
The Green Green Party like the old ones were may do well! This ‘ new ‘ party is just on steroids.
ZP isn’t even an MP , the rules around running a party and not being one baffles me. I know it’s allowed , but it feels wrong. ( I don’t know the reasons why it’s allowed and other parties have had this too )
