Could Zack Polanski be any more of an obnoxious twat?

Just seen him saying this:

'I am concerned about the rise in antisemitism and we know Jewish communities are saying they feel unsafe. There is a conversation to be had over whether it's a perception that they feel unsafe or whether they are actually unsafe.'

WTAF? Can you imagine if a politician said that to Muslims after a series of absolutely awful targeted attacks where people have died?

Starmer did a good job ridding the party of the antisemitic element. Perhaps part of his unpopularity for some people?

What is it specifically about the Greens and ZP that you think is the answer to the UK's problems? Even more immigrants of any ilk or skill set, irrespective of what we need and can absorb being allowed to arrive and stay, when we don't have enough housing or jobs for the 70 million people who are already here?

I've just had a quick look at the Greens' intended policies and all I see completely unfundable fantasies that, were they to be implemented any time in the near future, would bring about the total collapse our economy in the blink of an eye. Most of the jobs in the gig economy that so many low skill immigrants come in the hope of taking up won't exist anyway, by the time the greens have taxed most businesses out of existence and tightened up employment laws to the point where no-one will dare take on anyone.

I wonder whether the user name is relevant.

And his surname is spelled Polanski. It's even in the thread title.

I was wondering about the username too.

Unfortunately not, his rhetoric is being lapped up by certain people.

After watching him on GMB this morning I am genuinely baffled as to how anyone could take him remotely seriously?

5MinuteArgument · 27/04/2026 13:13

The Greens are definitely minimising antisemitism in order to appeal to their new voter base.

Thousands of Jewish people have left France because of rising antisemitism, and the numbers leaving has accelerated in recent years. They haven't just considered leaving, they've left.

I suppose the Greens would say it was just their perception of antisemitism that prompted them to believe they have no future in Europe.

It's just student politics of the most inane type: open borders, anti-Israel, pro-trans etc etc.

(Apologies to any sensible students out there!)

His interview was a car crash of epic proportions on GM tv and he just didn’t seem to grasp what was being asked of him. Their policies are bonkers ( that’s only my opinion though )

He genuinely didn't seem to have applied any thought, it was just soundbites.
I thought he was an actor? He really didn't present well.

Drama student ... don't know he was ever a paid actor.

Right. Certainly not an economist, that's for sure.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 14:32

Some of their policies seem to make sense if you haven’t too much grasp on how an economy actually works. He is popular with the young as they ( mostly) agree on taxing the rich , but it’s not as easy as that.
ZP isn’t even an MP and taunting Ed Balls like that wasn’t funny. He didn’t seem to realize that he isn’t an MP anymore, but that might have been because both of them were wound up.
He can’t shake off his past either! That will haunt him, but that’s politics today isn’t it. Do anything and it’s forever brought up, but that goes for most politicians to be fair to them all.
He is appealing to certain demographics. My own son is taken in by him , but it’s all just delusional policies which will never work and certainly not costed out.

ScarlettOYara · 27/04/2026 14:39

The nationalised buses plan is completely unworkable. It would cost £134m in Manchester alone, how could that be replicated across the UK?
Are we going to have to pay 90% tax?

Twiglets1 · 27/04/2026 14:43

High public spending! Low tax! In your dreams!

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 14:46

It’s back of a fag packet politics and I’m not an economist , but I take an interest and their policies wouldn’t work. It is just pie in the sky isn’t it.
( again, only my own opinion , but I can see their appeal (

HeadDeskHeadDesk · 27/04/2026 15:05

Well yes, they would. 😂

It's the easiest thing in the world to come up with policies that are popular and that make everyone's lives nicer. We could all do that if we didn't have to worry about the economy.
