Just seen him saying this:

'I am concerned about the rise in antisemitism and we know Jewish communities are saying they feel unsafe. There is a conversation to be had over whether it's a perception that they feel unsafe or whether they are actually unsafe.'

WTAF? Can you imagine if a politician said that to Muslims after a series of absolutely awful targeted attacks where people have died?

They are not ‘ green ‘ are they! It’s almost an oxymoron to say they want to build everywhere and have open borders. It was brought up this morning, but he didn’t make a lot of sense around what the policy actually would entail ( because it’s not a council election policy and so on)

I deal with the public, I'm also a member of the public. Your son hasn't got any unique insight ( your post is a bit cringy to be honest)

I know the public are stupid as they voted for Brexit and STILL believe what the grifting chancer Farage says.

Politics now is just about who can tell the most believable lies, and Reform Ltd are the best bullshitters around at the moment.

Who will you be voting for?

The GMB interview was painful.

Getting slaughtered on breakfast television is quite the achievement.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 20:18

To be fair, Suzanna Reid saved that interview as she rallied round and tried to make him see that he needed to answer the questions. He would probably say that they were being hostile.

Eventually..

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/04/2026 20:20

After the boobage questions!

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 20:21

Yes. Eventually she turned it around , but he started off having a pop at Ed Balls and his wife.
It was an odd interview all round.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 20:23

The ‘ bigger boobs’ thing won’t go away. Things follow you around these days.
Personally, I would rather have smaller ones thanks !

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/04/2026 20:31

It was a crash, but interviews like this only help cement his popularity within his party.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 20:38

I read an article in the Guardian online where a journalist shadowed him for a few days and he is certainly making an impact. He is approached by people who want to talk to him, but this is probably because he isn’t the usual type of party leader and seems personable.
Their policies are madness , but people will buy into them , sad to say. They know which demographics to appeal to as well.

Absolutely.

I don’t think Labour will be keen on giving 16 year olds the right to vote anymore.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2026 20:50

Hopefully the 16 year old voting idea will be scrapped !

Good point. I was always a ridiculous idea, and now it's a scary one.

There has been no genocide in Gaza. That is a blood libel and it is antisemitic.

“Blood libel” - give it a bloody rest would you! Israel are the perpetrators, not the victims. They’ve attacked every single one of their neighbouring countries, and slaughtered 70,000 Palestinians in the last 2.5 years.

Like I said, criticising the state of Israel is not ‘antisemitic’, just because you don’t like what I’m saying. And if Israel doesn’t want to be criticised, it should stop invading lands that belong to other countries and stop murdering innocent people.

If terrorists stopped attacking Israel then they wouldn't need to fight back. Israel weren't the perpetrators of October 7th, thousands of Hamas fighters and ordinary citizens who went along for the jolly (they filmed themselves celebrating the killing spree) led to the last conflict.

So none of the neighbouring countries ever attacked Israel? And all of the 70,000 Palestinians were all innocent civilians?
War is awful, but this conflict is very complex. What’s the point in reducing it to a simple goodies vs baddies?

ScarlettOYara · 28/04/2026 08:42

@Francine84 - interesting take on the 78 years of Israel's statehood. Why do you think they would attack their neighbours, do you think those neighbours just want to live in peace and harmony?

That's what's happened though. It's become very binary and simplistic.

It’s happening all the time, people painting Israel as the sole aggressor.
And then you get those who whip themselves into a frenzy over it and that leads to attacks on Jews all over the world.
A Jewish friend of mine just posted about some utterly disgusting antisemitic graffiti he saw in his neighbourhood (a very leafy, liberal part of his city). I’m so sick of it.

The Greens have become the home of the rump of the Corbynite Labour Party. The sorts of people expelled by Starmer for being antisemitic.

And Polanski is a self satisfied wazzock, I can’t stand him.

Corbyn isn't and wasn't antisemitic. ( Nor were the majority of his supporters expelled by Keir Starmer) Jeremy Corbyn has a long ( 30years +) and honourable history of defending Jewish Communities and eg organising the celebration of the Battle of Cable Street when the people of the East End stopped Fascist antisemitic marches.

Jewish Voice for Labour members were many of those expelled not for antisemitism ( as alleged ) but for their disagreement with the policies of the Israeli Government eg of the attacks on Gaza etc. and wanting Starmer to stand by his statement at the time of his election as Labour Leader that he would largely continue with the policies of Corbyn re left policies eg support of the NHS and nationalisation of our Utilities etc.

Being critical of the policies of the state of Israel is not being anti semitic as the hundreds of Rabbis and Cantors in Europe and the US who have signed the recent declaration (criticising the actions of the Israeli Government) testify. Not to mention the demonstrations in Israel itself by Jewish Israeli critics of their own Government policies.

An investigation by the UK's Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in 2020 found that the Labour Party, under Jeremy Corbyn's leadership, was responsible for unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination, as well as political interference in antisemitism complaints.

He presided over the party

Key findings and outcomes included:
EHRC Report: The watchdog identified a "culture" that failed to tackle, and in some cases, condoned antisemitism, highlighting serious leadership failings.
Suspension and Reaction: Following his assertion that the problem was "overstated for political reasons," Corbyn was suspended from the Labour Party in October 2020 for failing to retract his statement.
Aftermath: Although readmitted to the party weeks later, he was not restored the Labour whip and sat as an independent MP, following years of criticism regarding his handling of antisemitism claims and past actions.

"The truth is that he was not slow or defensive. He simply did not act. He failed to engage with those who pointed out how toxic the party had become for Jews. He consistently failed to accord antisemitism the status of racism – which it undoubtedly is. He has been selective in those causes he has taken up – and rising antisemitism, including within his own party, apparently was not worth worrying about. Meanwhile, due to his inaction and failure to understand, he made absolutely miserable the lives of several Jewish MPs in his own party. To name but a few, Louise Ellman, Luciana Berger, Margaret Hodge and Ruth Smeeth all had a terrible time and had to put up with the vilest of hate campaigns on social media. Some even left the party. These women are not wimps. It was Corbyn who presided over that toxic atmosphere growing and breeding further hatred, and who did nothing to defend them from abuse."

What do you think these 'perpetrators' would do if surrounding countries stopped attacking them and dropped the goal of exterminating them?
