AIBU to think my colleague is lying about having two dogs?

I work with a work colleague on a one to one basis however I think she’s lied to me about having 2 dogs (she does have 1) as well as to various other work colleagues.

Lying about canine ownership is a well known symptom of the perimenopaws.

Maybe she has one and borrows the other? I walk DS’s dog for many hours a week, I don’t always point out he’s not my dog to people I meet out walking or on here as I can’t be bothered. I love him as my own pet, but he doesn’t live with me most of the time, just visits often and occasionally stays over. My cats are very much mine though.

Having lied myself once about the number of dogs I own, I would urge you to go easy on your colleague. Prison is no easy life, take it from me.

Unless of course you are lying about the number of colleagues you have. I think you are. I think it's two colleagues, one dog, and this is all made up for kicks. Sicko.

Two dogs, based on the evidence, it sounds pawsable. Bowowever, in this case I think I would start a stalking campign to uncover the truth.
The best course of action would be to dress up as an RSPCA officer, remember to add a fake beard in case she recognises you and go round and say there has been a report that someone is lying about having two dogs, when in fact there are suspicions that only one resides in the property.

I would be furious. In your line of work, it’s essential that all employees provide full disclosure of the number of dogs they own. It should be backed up by evidence… the Dogs’ Trust can visit homes and do an audit.

If this isn’t already company policy, it should be. Raise it with senior management, OP.

I hope you can bring this difficult situation to some kind of resolution.
