To ask what you did for your 30th birthday?

Just out of curiosity. I have friends who didn’t celebrate at all, but I also have some friends who are going on special holidays etc.

I went to a family party i turned 30 on the 31.12.1999 it was amazing 👏 🤩

Had a party and snogged my drug dealer 🤷🏼‍♀️

Went to the local pub with good close friends. Had a bit of grub and quite a few pints. One of my best birthdays and I still remember it fondly 27 years later.

Cried all day! Even when my then best mate brought a cake and decorations round! She pulled out all the stops as I sat crying in the living room! I really didn't want to be in my 30s! Didn't help that my husband was in Bosnia at the time and I heard that we'd that him and his squadron had been shot at!
I've hit 40 and 50 now without any real celebrations, although I may for my 60th!
Enjoy whatever yoy choose to do and remember, age is just a number! 🎉🎊🎂💐

Went to Cambodia and watched the sunrise over Angkor Watt.

My 40th was spent crying over some dickhead guy that dumped me a few days earlier 😂

My friends took my on a day/night out to our nearest city. I was surprised with a friend at a connecting train station, then my two step sisters who I rarely see surprised me at the destination. I will never forget it.

The next day on my actual birthday, DH surprised me with a night away in a posh hotel. I was petrified of leaving 7 month old very-exclusively-breasted DS. I cried before, and during. But it was lovely. We downed the champagne to make room in the ice bucket for my expressed milk.

For DH, I surprised him with a few days in Barcelona. He was obsessed with their football team at the time. He loved sitting outside the stadium drinking beer at 10am on his 30th.

Happy memories

I was at home nursing my new baby! It was such a nothing event I couldn’t even tell you what I hit as a gift or what we had to eat!

I spent most of it in hospital with my poorly 4 week old!

Our daughter was 6 months old & our son was 3. I asked my husband if we could go to the cinema for my 30th. He did……nothing. No card. No present. No effort. Nothing even from the kids, not even the cinema.
He soon became my ex husband.
Not because of my 30th but because it was the wake up call I needed that he didn’t care.
So the divorce I got myself for my 30th was the best present ever

Mine was in lockdown, at a time when you could see up to 6 people - so that's what I did, with my immediate family, at my mum's house. It was lovely to be fair, as it was still only recent that we were allowed these get togethers, and my grandad had been very very poorly with covid, in hospital with no visitors, nearly died. So having everyone together was so very special.

I was addicted to heroin and crack and spent the day begging in a shop doorway to get enough money for drugs for the day.
During the following decade I finally got clean and on my 40th bday my lovely partner proposed to me. When I turn 50 in a few years our son will be seven and I’ll be as grateful as I am today that my life is now completely unrecognisable to what it was when I turned 30. It really is a ‘life beyond my wildest dreams’ 😍

Spending it vomiting and feeling RAF because I went out for a combined birthday and someone's leaving do in work the night before and I think one of the two white wine and lemonade spritzers I had was spiked.

I went out with friends for dinner the day of my birthday and I had the cheapest thing on the menu because I wouldn't feel so bad about wasting it. I drank non alcoholic cocktails for the vitamin c. I didn't feel normal until work on the Monday morning.

A waste of a weekend, a waste of a 30th birthday celebration and I remember it for all the wrong reasons.

Went on a UK break with my DP and some close friends.

Had a party. Shagged my ex.

I’m so glad you asked; I was home all day with the children and then I had planned to go to the pub with my close friend and I was also expecting quite honestly a card and a present from my group of Mum friends as they did for everyone else who’d had their 30th birthday, I was excited 🥺 I even said to thenH “I wonder what they’ll get me? they got X card flowers present etc” but then I received nothing all day Nothing from them (I’m sure there was something from my children) and I walked to the pub sobbing and crying and freezing trying to talk to one of them on my phone about what had happened she tried to say “we didn’t think you were bothered” 🥺 stuff to that effect 😳 then I realised that I was in too bad a state to go into the pub so that was it. 🥺
I was absolutely devastated and it took me a long time to feel ok again before anyone tries to say I was greedy

Had a 3 day old baby so mainly changing nappies and breastfeeding

Went to Paris with DH for a few days. Had a great time until the last day when the bird flu outbreak was all over the news and I freaked out and just wanted to get home.

I gave birth to my second son 😄

DP took me to Ibiza for a week. Up until then I was adamant that I wasn't a beach girl but he wanted me to experience something different and go clubbing etc etc. Turns out I AM a beach girl 😂

It was all a surprise, he just told me he was taking me somewhere hot and to bring swimwear.

I then got pregnant as soon as we came home and haven't been on holiday since 💔

We went to see Adam Hills the night before my birthday and then the day of we had a small house party with about 10 friends, pretty low key. One friend cried all night, another had been in a car accident the night before and was in absolute agony and one of our friends who lived miles and miles away drove down to share the lovely news that his wife was expecting! A very dramatic night all round!! A couple of weeks later we headed off on our belated honeymoon to NYC. Turned 40 this year and had a party in the local pub, went to Morocco with friends and we are off on a trip round Asia in the summer!

My sons dad ( ex now but was a partner of 8 years at the time) liked to ruin every special occassion and went on one of his disapearing acts right before my 30th... by my birthday he had been missing 10 days phone still off no clue where he was i spent the day stressed and misreble!

European break. I'm one of these people with an annoying early January birthday. Everybody is skint or on a diet. So instead DH and I went away.

Was on holiday with exH and 2 other couples in Clearwater Florida and we went to Orlando for a couple of nights. It was fun - Orlando old town is quite nice and it was my first visit to a quality steak house

My husband took me away for a spa weekend but I got flu (typical my birthday is jinxed). So he got me a special 35th birthday present too, a trip to Iceland, but not on my birthday.
For his i took him to Dublin for the weekend.

For my 40th we were supposed to go to Paris but COVID! Told you my birthday was jinxed. I took him to Port Lympne.
