Or you could answer any of mine. If you genuinely are fine with the shear horror of human suffering that Israel has inflicted on the civilian populations of the Middle East I’m not sure why you would feel the need to pretend it didn’t happen.

Forcing your words into my mouth isn’t very smart is it. Where have I said I am ‘fine with the sheer btw not “shear” horror of human suffering’?

I'm still of the frame of mind how much we should do to defend cultures that have child marriage, to full adult men. We are horrified by the reproductive rights in the USA, but they are still decades ahead of the rights of girls (not even women) re child marriage/rape/birth/dying in childbirth/female circumcision in many societies. We ignore the killing if childrenor rather girls becauseof forced birth from the age they start their periods. It seems that there's a picking out of what is going right and wrong in certain countries/religions/cultures and ignoring what suits, to declare who the baddies are.

There are US states that have no minimum age for marriage too eg California, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma.
Alaska, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Utah, Wyoming generally allow marriage at 16 or younger with consent.

Between 2000 and 2021 300,000 minors were married in the US.

TooBigForMyBoots · 13/04/2026 21:57

I'm going for a new world order where every nation's leader has to have tea for one hour every week woth 5 other nations. All drawn at random each week.

No advisors, no secretaries, no press. And no press afterwards.

It's not much, but it's a start.😊

Imagine celebrating the "moral clarity" of a hugely corrupt, serial sex offender and probable pedophile.

Just disgusting.

Trump is a disgusting human. I agree. But the US is doing the right thing: removing the ability of our sworn enemy to use nuclear weapons against us and our allies.

By showing such strength, he also is making China think twice about attacking Taiwan which would lead to another war.

I don’t think war is a great thing. I do think a smaller war now with Iran is better than bigger/more war(s) later. A horrible dilemma.

And the economic impact is hard for us now. But would be worse later. The Iranian regime can’t continue to be funded through its mafia-like dealings and oil money.

And it’s this network that is being targeted in Lebanon too, in response to Hezbollah’s continuous bombing of Israel. The IRGC is behind it all.

If you’re supporting Hamas and Hezbollah, who declared war on October 7th against Israel to try yet again to destroy the Jewish state what are you?

Hamas and the media relentlessly push the claim that Gaza deaths are mostly ‘women and children’. This is an age-old tactic, the oldest trick in the propaganda playbook. It’s designed to evoke outrage and cast Israel as a ruthless aggressor.

Several studies have been conducted which revealed that certain news outlets tend to heavily favour Gaza’s perspective, emphasising Hamas’ statistics while downplaying Israel’s side of the story.

The most notable and recent example of this involves the BBC. It was not only found to report disproportionately in Gaza’s favour, citing statistics directly from Hamas, but also went so far as to publish a documentary that was later withdrawn due to its significant disinformation and exaggeration regarding the suffering of children in Gaza.

Do you know the number of kids Iranian middles have killed in the last 2 days?

For the umpteenth time, the PP didn't support Hamas or Hezbollah. Most people are capable of more than one strain of thought, they are capable of condemning Hamas, Hezbollah and the IDF in one go.

The actions of the US have benefitted Russia in its illegal invasion of Ukraine. They're all bad.

Iran didn't have the ability to use nuclear weapons against the US. The CIA knew that but Bibi and Kushner convinced the paedo dementia patient that it did. The same paedo dementia patient who last year told us that Iran's nuclear capabilities had been "obliterated".

Any competent leadership would have recognised that Iran's immediate actions would be to disrupt maritime trade, yet these incompetent idiots didn't prepare for that.

BrinkWomanship · 13/04/2026 23:12

I didn’t say Iran could use nuclear weapons against the US but they already regularly attack the west through its terrorist proxies.

Iran can’t use nuclear weapons against anyone because last year’s attacks set it back and this year’s set it back even further. We don’t have to sit on our arses waiting for them to have the capability before something is done.

In warfare it’s best not to broadcast one’s intent in advance because it rather reduces its efficacy. Can you imagine if we’d told Germany about D-Day?

Of course maritime trade would be disrupted. They knew that and that very fact has been a great deterrent for a long time but sometimes temporary hardship has to be endured for a more substantial good.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/04/2026 23:21

Well US are amongst the baddies anyway.

We need to get as close to our European allies as we can as quickly as possible. Whilst not appearing to panic of course!

European allies and countries like Canada, Australia and NZ. Make a big club of democratic nations.

I’m not sure you understood what I wrote. You may have missed the “if”. I obviously don’t know what you are ok with but you do seem to be excusing and minimising the inexcusable and immense mass killing and maiming that has been witnessed by so many observers.

My spelling is poor. I’m glad you pointed it out, thank you.

They removed Iran's nuclear capabilities last year. I believe the word President Trump used was "obliterated".🤨

Trump is not showing strength.🙄 He's making a right tit of himself, diminishing the US, doing all manner of illegal shit and making life more dangerous and difficult for most people in the world. Including me and everyone I know.🤬

He's ballsed this up. He's blockading the SOH for Iran.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

On top of that he's alienated all of America's traditional allies. Doing his best to alienate his base. And improved Putin's lot. Oh yeah and there's the matter of his deteriorating cognitive abilities and alarming behaviours.😬

Today Iran is incapable of launching a nuclear attack. Dementia Don, the sex offender is!

You literally said:

If Iran can't use nuclear weapons then what ability are the US removing?

Mistyglade · 14/04/2026 01:48

If you interpret anything I’ve said as some sort of justification or support for war please don’t. It all makes me sick. The hate for Jews in this country right now is terrifying though and the misinformation about the situation is endless. My Jewish friends and family are being persecuted, harassed, and attacked on British streets while the authorities, media and much of the political class look the other way. Synagogues are guarded, Jewish schools need heavy security, and many Jews no longer feel safe walking the streets. Football fans are banned from football matches in England. This isn’t tension it’s targeted persecution. Britain is allowing its Jewish community to be driven out and almost nobody seems to care.

What is Trump doing to benefit your Jewish friends and family... ...on British streets?

Child marriage very much goes on in some US states, acting as a get-out-of-jail-free card for adult men who rape young girls - sometimes as young as 12.

I did wonder about this comment also given 34 out 50 states in the U.S. still have child marriage. It also has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the developed world (three times higher for Black women). And of course the abolition of Roe and now all these poor kids held in ICE detention becoming pregnant and then moved to Texas where abortion is banned without exceptions. The U.S. is pretty far down the road to Gilead…

But to other young people, not girls of 9, to men over 30. Within the Muslim population of Gaza there were no laws around violence, including sexual violence, against women and girls. Women can and are beaten in the streets, because they aren't dressed modestly enough, or it isn't believed that they have their male guardian's permission to be out. That's without going into honour killings. Let's not get to ridiculous levels to compare life in the US to a region under Sharia Law. That's pushing it, even for this forum.

Absolutely not comparing. And I totally agree American women are way better off than Iranian women, and indeed women in many countries.

But I do not see how bombing Iranian civilians will help liberate women. The regime will simply be replaced by another regime, as has happened in many countries already.

Nothing has changed for women in Iran.

The difference is now that the SoH is closed, Russia has had a cash boost and the price of food will go up further.

Lots of them are dead, not to mention the poor women who sent their daughters off to primary school only to have them all bombed to death. This isn’t about making women’s lives better anywhere. This is about a man playing god without thought of the consequences. This is about racism, religious hate, and money. Shame on anyone who excuses the slaughter of innocents and shame on anyone who supports war.
