AIBU to think excluding children from their dad's wedding was hurtful?

My 3 children recently announced their OP was remarrying and were super excited about the event. We spoke about outfits, where they were staying and how fun the day would be. However, on the big day they never went to the ceremony (no after party), no suits or dresses, nothing! AIBU to think this is such a horrible thing to do to your own children? Build them up to think there’s a big event and then exclude them?

Ok so your ex got married, told his kids they’d get new outfits and be involved, on the day they didn’t have new outfits and were not involved and you are asking if it’s hurtful? Surely the kids have said if they were upset or not? If they were then yes. If not then no. Or are you just trying to say what a jerk your ex is? Or are you just annoyed he’s remarried?

"OP" is "original poster" - what are you using it to mean here?

There's a lot of focus on outfits...

Apologies for the delay in responding.

The OP built up the children to believe they were going to be attending the wedding, getting new outfits and involved in the whole thing.

Fast forward to the day, the children were not involved at all, no outfits and whilst the ceremony happened the OP and witnesses went inside whilst the children remained outside the building (not the room, the physical building). Afterwards they went to the pub and came straight home again.

That seems pretty appalling to me, FunnyBeaker.
What is his explanation for treating his children so shoddily? There must be one. What do they say about it?
I do not understand it one bit. Poor kids.
