Oohhh I like this 🧐

I once found out years ago, that an ex colleague (married woman with two kids), was actually in a polyamorous relationship, and they all lived together.

It turned out that there was
"Husband"
Wife no. 1
Wife no. 2, who was also Wife no. 1's sister!
Wife no. 3
Wife no. 4, who was Wife no. 3's sister!!

They all lived together in one big house, and there were children with three of the wives.

And the best part?
He didn't work, he stayed home, whilst all 4 wives went out to work, and they all kept him!
He must have been living the dream.
And these women were all professional intelligent women. Think, nurse, teacher, vet type thing.

Still blows my mind when I think about it 🤯🤯

Along similar lines, I went to a wedding last month and one of the other guests was a very unremarkable, particularly unattractive, very rude, man in his 70's (Maybe late 60's), who was there with both his wife and his girlfriend..both younger than him and very beautiful, and the three of them were very open about it like it was completely normal...I couldn't take my eyes off them!

And how do you know the women are being exploited?

Because most women in prostitution are. But in any event if the neighbours are “running a racket” then they are pimps. However “willingly” a woman is in prostitution, pimping is always exploitative.

He must have, but I can't imagine how.
I met him once when he picked her up from work, and he was just a little, beige middle aged man.
Must have oozed charisma when he turned it on....🤔

Or be hung like a horse 😂

Many years ago, I was an HR manager. There was a pastoral side to my role as well as all the usual legal/recruitment/ etc stuff.

On one memorable morning a male employee asked to see me, very upset.

He had arrived home earlier than planned the previous evening to find his wife in bed with his mother. 😳

What did he decide to do? What was he like to work with, was he nice or a prick who deserved it? 🤭

Name changed.... I just quit my job, noone expect the big bosses know. They are worried other may follow suit. I feel bad but hey.... Also I know an ex colleague who slept with another colleague at 2 x work events !! They don't know I know but I saw him leaving her room first time and after next event they were cosy and am pretty sure it happened again. Cool as cucumbers at work, nothing to arise suspicion!! How do they do it!!!

He’d have to be oozing a serious bank account, never mind the size of his John Thomas!

This doesn't surprise me at ALL.

The one with the multiple wives - who are SISTERS - is the one I am struggling with!

The multiple wives and lazy man story made me think Utah as soon as I read it, not an unusual set up there apparently.

Edited

He was a nice, ordinary guy.

Had no idea that the two of them were actually having an affair.

They ended up getting divorced, not sure if the wife and mother ended up together!

I’m an expat on a non-transferable visa (tied to my specific job, if I quit I have to leave the country) which has led to being treated like a second class citizen at work in some respects. Little do they know that I am due to get married to a citizen this summer and I will be applying for permanent residency straight away and will have the right to FUCK THIS JOB OFF and work anywhere.

But for now I am smiling and keeping quiet. 🙂

I used to work with someone in your position and the management treated her like shit and paid her way below the going rate too. She was as good if not better than us natives at the work too. Bloody sickening!

Conversationalcheddar · 09/04/2026 14:16

Husbands best friend has a 9 year old with ex partner. He turned 30 last year. Two years ago, he fell head over heels in love. After 4 months they started trying for baby. Pregnant immediately. Both moved in with her parents (including 9yo). Things were rocky once baby was born but they pushed through. They’d only known each other just over a year at this point. Saved up for house. Bought house. Financed a family car. Completed on house two weeks ago and moved in. Baby is now about 1.5 years. Broke up a week later. He’s now back with his parents with two kids from two different mums. One he has full time (9yo) and younger one he has on weekends.

He’s a lovely guy but dives into relationships head first and goes all in right away. Twice it hasn’t worked out.

My NDN is a secret drinker. I saw 3 empty vodka bottles in my glass collection box when I put a wine bottle in it very late at night before it's collected at 07.00 the next day.
I kept watch next time & saw her.

You're not a 'secret drinker' for having a drink in your own home. 3 bottles is a lot, but how do you know she drank them herself, all in that week.

I've had self-catering family parties before where you have to take all your bottles and rubbish away with you from the venue - cheeky for using your bin tho.

Conversationalcheddar · 09/04/2026 14:19

Oh also, I was once “fired” from my first serious job. It was the first step to getting my dream job and I was heart broken (I failed my probation). The boss who got rid of me said she was “paid too much” to train me.

This was 10 years ago. I woke up a few mornings ago with her name in my head. Hadn’t thought of her in years. Googled her and found a trial document of her taking the same employer to
court for unfair dismissal. Karma has a way of catching up with you I guess…

My MIL used to shag her 1st cousin, and only stopped when his Dad told him to stop, as he was also her Dad, so they were half siblings.

For the win ⬆️

Hes probably very wealthy since he doesnt seem to have much else going for him 😆

Perhaps the little bald guy with the 4 wives just sits in the corner licking his eyebrows?

I've got none to start with. Dull neighbours living without having affairs or committing crimes - boring 🙄🙄

That's what you think...

Faythe · 09/04/2026 14:24

My husband's late dad had a secret family. My husband was part of the secret side. It all came out when he died. The children in the first family were still teenagers so it's not certain what they knew or were told at the time. My husband was still in primary school and was told about his half siblings but never met them - the secret family wasn't allowed to attend the funeral).

One of my colleagues is my husband's half sister but she doesn't know that I know this. I don't even know if she knows about her half siblings, never mind that my husband is one of them. I certainly will not be the person to mention any of this.

A housemate from uni is still with the same boyfriend she had when I knew her. Really sweet guy. We’re now nearing 40. She’d put off having kids for ages when a few years ago he told her he really wanted kids and if she didn’t he’d like to move on and find someone who did. So she said ok let’s try for a baby.

Unbeknownst to him she continued to take the pill while “trying” for several years. Then pretended she couldn’t face IVF and cried it was probably all her fault because she’d had an eating disorder and he felt too bad to push it. So they’ve now given up. I feel so bad for him.

That is so nasty! Why not let the poor guy move on, I’d tell him if you could. Utter bitch!

Appleberrybloom · 09/04/2026 14:32

I overhead a conversation in public a while back about a bride who walked in on her husband having a pre-wedding breast feed from his mother. Who knows if it was true or not but it certainly seemed to be by the reactions of the people

Some of these stories - and especially this one - remind me of this song
