There were enough people in his administration with real experience of how governing a country works to keep him in check. He got rid of all those people in his second term.

We should all be furious that this has been allowed to get to this stage by the Republican party and that article 25 of the constitution which as far as I understand anticipates exactly this situation has not been invoked.
