AIBU to ask if you have a mumsnet twin

I’ve noticed that there’s one particular poster who almost always likes or agrees with my posts on a thread.

I use a few different usernames and post on threads about a variety of topics - politics, bad husbands, hen do dramas, inheritance, general life issues and all sorts of random things. I just notice this same username popping up all the time (there’s a second who I notice agrees with me very regularly, too).

Clearly we’re very similar and think the same way about a lot of different things. Just wondered if others have noticed the same.

YABU- I’ve never noticed a particular person always agreeing with me.

I have been on her for years but change my username every few months (because I am a terrible over sharer and I don't want my posts linked!)

Their was a poster years ago that I always knew would talk sense as soon as I saw her name. It was Bluntness (then I think a number, possibly 00?) and I haven't seen the username in a long time. I wonder if they are still on here under a different name?

There is also a mumsnet user and we got on so well in threads we now call each other from time to time to catch up!

I know I'll agree with @MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack and @mumofoneAloneandwell most of the time. MrsTerryPratchett too.

There's a fair few I've noticed that I can't be doing with (Unpopular Opinions threads are good for seeing who is and who isn't a bit of a knob!)

I change username quite a bit because I like new names and I have talked about things on here I don't want anyone I know to find out.

I am never sure why people change their names. I suppose it is in case someone in RL might recognise you? In my naivety, I never even considered that!!

There are a couple of posters who sound like me and describe lives that could be mine. They are not me, though.

Agree - whenever I see a three word username like 'willynosepsycho' (check out the mafs thread for that reference) I always know to avoid the thread as its just ai generated

As I mentioned I have over shared and been far too specific at times - I can also be quite vocal on threads and I worry someone may look at my user history and connect the dots! Unlikely, but I have heard of it happening.

It's something I always mean to do more often (just in case I say something that ours me irl) but never bloody remember to get round to.

I think I've been here for over ten years but I've probably had less names than the country's had Prime Ministers in that time!

I never did but then I was reading a thread and realised I knew the op in real life. She was a massive over-sharer on here so then every time she popped up I knew more about her problems and opinions than I’m sure she would have been happy with her real life friends and acquaintances knowing.

Ever since then I’ve changed my username every couple of months just in case.

Also, I'm quite liberal with the old reaction button (and still long for the laugh one back) so sorry if I'm one of your MN stalkers @Dontbeconspicuous

You’re not! I don’t find it a problem at all, I’m very liberal with the button myself. Just thought it was interesting that it’s always this same person agreeing over a variety of topics.
I occasionally miss the laugh button when I find something funny but I’m not sorry it’s gone as people used it in a pass-agg way when they couldn’t come up with a decent response.

I pretty much always agree with anything MrsTerryPratchett posts, but suspect I've posted some things she wouldn't necessarily agree with 😅

Doubt it as I name change regularly and never put anything personal and if I do ever mention age/sex/number of children I mix it up a bit so that nothing is identifying.

I only have for something outing

But i did close my account and then make a new one (I tried and failed to quit using social media 🙃)

I get the name change thing, but i'm of the twitter generation, which i think shows - i'm always just expressing my thoughts with the one username🙈🤭

I do name change for some topics - mainly where I want to share personal details that I wouldn't want associated with my main account (which is this one).

There are some posters who seem to regularly like my posts regardless of which name I'm posting under!!

There is a poster with a username which a combination of my first and middle names. I smile everytime I see her post

I mostly remember usernames who are twats. If I see them on a thread I know they will piss me off. Oh for a block function.
