I wish people would stop calling it "Witherspoons"

Never heard that. It’s Weatherspoons (written) that gets up my nose.

People who say 'expresso' should be deported

See also people who say "lartay".

The "a" in latte is short.

People who don’t have a tv are always insufferable wankers who go on and on about it. They always want to watch it when they come round to your fucking house!

I concur

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/03/2026 19:11

Air fryers are shit and they don't know how to make chips.

usedtobeaylis · 18/03/2026 19:14

Someone mentioned how everything in the UK is oversized and frumpy and in that vein can anyone explain to me why so many pairs of jeans in this country always have so much material around the crotch area? The crotch of jeans is either strangely long and flappy with a little miniature zip at the top, or just a bunch of excess material ballooning around your bits. It's really hard to just find normal jeans with the correct sized zip in the correct place on the correct amount of material.

Pubs smelt better before the smoking ban.

I had to read that again thought you were saying ‘pubes’ 😂Who knows though maybe those smelled better then as well!

ChocolateBasket · 18/03/2026 19:15

Alot of kids are badly behaved because they have shit parents who don't know how to say 'no' and set a poor example, so they disrespect adults as a result.
It isn't always because of XYZothercombinationofletterssyndrome.

Not every single thing can be attributed to perimenopause.

I often wonder if all the people with ‘food allergies’ have actually been diagnosed with them. I say this because my SIL claims to have several and makes it impossible to go out for dinner with her, as she is constantly asking what’s in this, where has that come from. I asked her when she had been diagnosed with these allergies. She hasn’t. She claims they are intolerances. Which is odd on two fronts: one what about my intolerance of people ruining my dinner by needing to know where the fucking potato was grown and two, it’s odd how they go out of the window when she has had two bottles of Prosecco and wolfs down a bag of giant wotsits.
I'm obviously not talking about the people with actual food allergies that might kill them or make them very ill.

I'm with you on this one.

Especially annoying when there is a limited supply of freefrom items at events, and those with 'intolerances' take them, but then go on to eat something which that allergen in it as it 'looks nice'.

Omg!! If I had a pound for every time I have this argument with my husband...he claims it's Witherspoon because "how do you eat soup?... Witherspoon!!"
Seriously I should have karate chopped him in the throat the first time this happened thus preventing it happening once a month for 26 years

Keep fighting 💪🏻

Where do you stand on "marshmellows"?

cathome64 · 18/03/2026 19:19

Road ragey, flag hanging, uneducated people seem to be breeding more. They are everywhere.

You're not the only one.😄

Half term haters.....not everyone has children and who gives a fuck which holiday it is, it just means a) quicker to get to work and back, but b) don't bother going anywhere else as it will be over run and awful...

ThatPearlkitty · 18/03/2026 19:21

for those that are omg about businesses having to pay the NMW, why should business survive on paying pittance wages

Ugh, yes. First time I heard someone say it i thought they said "larvae".

Going to be controversial and also say scone is pronounced the correct way, as in sc-own. It feels like ive been shot when I hear someone say 'scon'. I dont care who links what research to say its pronounced 'scon', its sc-own.

Perhaps we should go one further and pronounce the one as one, so, sc-one. Food for thought.

QueenOfHiraeth · 18/03/2026 19:23

People who express very strong opinions, usually (but not always) about political allegiances, and claim others who disagree with them are thick are usually lacking in intelligence themselves. Sadly they are usually the people wanting to give others "a piece of their mind"

ColdWeatherWarning · 18/03/2026 19:24

I'm fed up of seeing 'regulation' all over the place

People can't be rude or angry or stressed, they're just 'dysregulated'

No more 'calming down', now it's 'regulating oneself'

Can't wait for this word to regulate itself into the fucking bin

Adults who call their parents Mummy and Daddy!

I find professional newborn baby photo shoots creepy. And they seem to make it worse with the costumes and poses. What's that all about?

Most young babies aren't cute. You need to wait a few months to get the cute look.

Edited

My new borns were gorgeous. I put that down to stress free elective c-sections so they came out looking camera ready 😂 I did have some professional shots done but not till about 6 months old and no weird dressing up.

Well that is your opinion. I always called my parents Mummy and Daddy, hate Mum and Dad as did they. The only other option is Mama and Papa (a la Royal Family).

People who campaigned for the laugh emoji to be removed as they couldn't cope with a bit of piss taking need to have a word with themselves.

So many times I've wanted a laughing emoji reaction on here... I didn't know that there used to be one. 😀
