I totally agree. One of my (ex) friends has a dog with pink bows in her hair and an array of jumpers. She even has boots and, wait for it, a PRAM in case she gets tired on a walk.

All the dogs in the area probably bark to each other about how ludicrous she looks when she’s out.

The worst one I’ve heard was another friends ex husband who was getting married again. The new bride’s chihuahua was a bridesmaid. She had the same dress as the actual human ones 🤦‍♀️.

We still laugh about it. The poor dog 🤣

Oh my days… It’s mental!

I've caught more things from a child than I have from a dog and people let them sleep in their beds all the time

Wtf? My daughter may give me colds but she doesn't eat shit, sniff/lick arses, roll in mud/shit or have a smelly greasy film on her whole body 🤢

Lmnop22 · 18/03/2026 13:26

I often wonder why most people who do that public competitive under-eating thing are overweight.

Like, I obviously don’t believe you that you can’t manage the other half of your side salad because you ate last Tuesday so are still stuffed when you’re clearly consuming ten of thousands of calories too many weekly…..!

muggart · 17/03/2026 23:25

it was a little embarrassing how ugly our royal family was prior to Kate and Meghan marrying in and raising the standard. I secretly suspect that it made the world see Brits as somewhat unattractive by extension.

What a strange post @muggart,
I don't really understand your point of view, but I will respond anyway!

The Queen, the real one who dedicated her life to her people, was stunningly beautiful when she was younger (and still looked good the day before she died!) Prince Phillip was also very handsome when he was younger. The late Princess of Wales, Diana, began her adult life being very pretty, and transformed into being one of the most beautiful women in the world - her character shone through her. She then had very beautiful babies. Charles wasn't ugly, although his nose was rather prominent, and Ann actually looked lovely too, but in a less obvious, and more aristocratic way. Andrew was always considered to be the best looking of the Queen's children, unfortunately for him that didn't last - his character probably shone through as he aged! Edward was always a fine and normal looking chap, with a gentle smile, but he ended up marrying another beautiful woman, and they had very attractive childchren together.

But, as I slightly alluded to above, I think that someone's developing character can have a massive affect on their looks as they age. At the end of the day, as I'm sure you will agree, it is a person's character that is the most important issue, and not how attractive they may or may not be. As for what people in other countries might think about the looks of the general British population, I couldn't give a damn, but I expect like me, most of them have never given a single thought/judgement about the attractiveness of the population of other nations. I think most nations in the world probably have rather a mixed bag of looks, which really doesn't matter at all.

I’m the opposite, I have huge feet and round toes make me look like a penguin.
i also have pointy feet (tiny little toe and long big toe) so many pointy shoes are actually more comfortable for me than round-toed ones.

Unnecessary massive 4x4s in London (or any congested city) mean you are selfish and nouveau riche.

Obviously does not apply if you need them for work or genuine off road capability.

BeanyBops · 18/03/2026 13:30

Your cortisol is not a problem, it's a social media lie (unless you have a diagnosed medical condition).
Your hormone balance is not a problem, see above.
Your metabolism is not a problem, see above.

And finally - more nuanced - not everyones perimenopause is a problem. Many women are stressed, anxious, sleeping badly, forgetting things etc because they're at a peak pressure point in their lives and most men are completely shit at offering any meaningful support to address it. But it's much easier to blame exhaustion on perimenopause than it is to look at your marriage and get your husband to do an equal amount of childcare, elder care, dog care, house care and mental load.

Absolutely sick of women having reasonable responses to shitty conditions and thinking that they are the source of the problem.

Phew.

People who let dogs sleep in their beds have weird standards of hygiene.

But we are probably healthier than people who live in pristine homes!

Runrabbitrunrabitrunrunrun · 18/03/2026 13:32

People who leave large teams calls (150+ people) and have to announce they are going, or that they have another meeting...you are insignificant, no one cares. And don't get me started on the 30+ people who are thanking the director at the end of the call...they aren't making a note of your name brown-noser. If the meeting was in person you would just leave the hall, you wouldn't go up to them to say thank you, so stop causing me to be pinged with all your thank yous

Newbutoldfather · 18/03/2026 13:32

Alternative medicine is 95% based on the placebo effect.

If alternative medicine worked, it wouldn’t be alternative any more, it would be embraced by the mainstream.

The amount of people who believe in woo medicine is truly scary and a testament to a lack of decent science education.

Oh the irony….

Asperger was a Nazi.

you keep putting grinning faces on your incredibly offensive posts.

Oh I could have chosen far worse smilies to use!
That was just to show it was simply my opinion, not a fact.

I do wish people didn’t get so offended by everything nowadays. You aren’t always going to agree with everyone, but this constant reporting of posts nowadays is really tedious.

I’m happy to hear differing views to mine. I wouldn’t report you if I didn’t agree with you. Even if you were rude to me, I wouldn’t report you.

Whattodo1610 · 18/03/2026 12:30

Your post is so full of rubbish. Schools don’t ’recommend’ a diagnosis at all, they may however, recommend an assessment. There is huge benefit to having a diagnosis, and the diagnosis itself is not just to get exam access arrangements 🙄 They bring up the need for assessment if the child is struggling with various aspects, not just exams/work 🙄

It was pretty obvious I meant an assessment for a diagnosis. Teachers cater for different needs even without a diagnosis. If they are pushing for one it usually means they think the child would benefit from extra support that they can't provide or that they think the child would benefit from access arrangements. They don't 'strong arm' parents into getting their child assessed just for the sake of it (as the previous poster implied) they tend to be a bit more light touch than that.

That’s a conversation that should be had before marriage. If both partners agree that the relationship will be low/no sex then great.

I think you’re just shouting into the wind now.

People who are consistently late, not just 5 or 10 minutes but 1 hour plus who haven’t got the manners to let you know what’s happening. When they do appear there are no apologies. Looking at you SIL!
Vegans. You never have to ask they will tell you constantly.

People with expensive powerful cars who toodle around at 10 mph under the speed limit should have the car taken away and given to me and get a picanto instead.

Very sorry, this was me today, twice.

Courtesy car far fancier than our own car.

Once I was going 40 in a 50 because I knew there was a massive pothole coming up and couldn't quite remember where.

The second time my child had just vomited and I was looking desperately for a safe place to pull over.

I promise I'm not usually that annoying (well, as a driver anyway) 🫣

People who insist on packing their shopping at the till in Aldi should be made to pay a surcharge. Or banned for life.

At my local Aldi everyone packs at the till. The cashiers are friendly and chat with you, and nobody cares.

Agree about people being consistently late (even consistent 15 minutes late is annoying and rude.)
Disagree about vegans though - I'm not one, but know a lot who are, and in my experience they don't even have to say anything without someone piping up on their food choices if they wander towards the vegan options.
"Mmm, bacon sarnies!" Or
"wHERE Do YOU GET YOUR PROTEIN THO??"
Etc etc

Jackiepumpkinhead · 18/03/2026 13:45

This is probably quite niche, but people who wear brown and black clothes together, or to a slightly lesser extent, cream and white. I don’t know why it irritates me so much.
