Here’s one: people who write virtuously "I think people have every right to be trans if they want. Not my business." when actually very few would object to people being trans if they want, if the trans people didn’t insist on making it everyone else's business by demanding that everyone else use the language the trans person wants them to and demanding admission to spaces, awards, opportunities etc. reserved (for good reasons) for a single sex.

People on mumsnet who manage to shoehorn their views on trans people into every thread should have their devices removed.

Limth · 18/03/2026 09:39

Men who say "Men don't talk about their mental health enough" can get in the fucking bin.

Same with women who say "I was diagnosed with [insert random faddy mental health condition] in my 40s and now everything makes sense".

Fuck off.

WorstPaceScenario · 18/03/2026 09:39

Matcha tastes like a slide tackle

Pistachio-flavoured anything is overrated and tastes a bit stale (except actual pistachios)

People who don't need drink coffee are weird

(And, having read PPs, people who bash marathon runners/triathletes/anyone who dares invest time and effort achieving something they want to achieve is just a bit miffed because they can't or won't give themselves the opportunity to pursue their own goals, and then they dress it up as being too selfless to invest so much time in themselves 😁)

Contrary to earlier posters, I think there is much more undiganosed / unrecognised ND about and in years to come so called NT will be the minority.

At which point, if that's the norm the ND are going to have to get their collective act together and realise that they'll have to work, do every day tasks and generally take responsibility for their lives as there won't be enough NT people around to support them

Rules, even social rules might have to change, but they'll still be needed so that society can function.

Feel free to argue this one.

BMW drivers should have to sit further lessons after they have passed their test as I have never seen any BMW driven in a non dickish way.

People who vape look like toddlers sucking dummies.

No-one should be vaping for any other reason than trying to stop smoking.

Vapes should be banned, and not be for sale to the public. Prescription only, and for a maximum of one year.

The recent outbreak of meningitis is proving that vapes need banning from public sale.

People who only tag previous posters without quoting what they wrote should be banned from Mumsnet.

I'm not trawling back through a million posts to find out what they actually mean.

Oh my god this! So much

People who have any form of cosmetic procedure never look younger, they just look like they've had surgery.

Yes! I loved "Big little lies" but struggled to watch Nicole Kidman's much" altered "face - just looked a bit silly, especially as the script demanded that people had to keep telling her how" beautiful "&" "perfect " she was! Really irritating, as she had terrible duck lips. Really plastic looking face compared to the other actresses who looked great, really natural.

Genuine question - how are vapes and the meningitis outbreak linked? Are people sharing vapes? (Also agree that sucking on a vape looks ridiculous)

Old people need to be made more responsible for their own well being. They expect society to just care for them but don't do sensible things when able (like move to a smaller house they can actually handle). End up having falls and being burden to nhs and family as the won't accept care when it's needed. Nor do they plan for old age putting in poa etv. Government won't do anything as old people vote and no one will say anything as ' the survived the war'. Plus all their pensions are given protection no other benifits are. We give people all sorts of advice about other life stages, but there's very little out there about how to age well, stay active mentally and physically and keep yourself safe.

I agree with this, as a mid-40s diagnosed ADHD person (it was actually diagnosed through assessment and therapy for PTSD; I didn't seek it out)

I think that we'll eventually realise that neurotypes are so diverse that even the 'typical' median is pretty diverse. And then we'll either collectively be screwed, or we'll collectively have to realise that, for people who are able to work, study, and generally be out in the world independently, we're all going to have to make our own adjustments and develop coping strategies to fit some kind of norm, because we cannot possibly accommodate the particular requirements of so many individuals.

Being someone who has struggled all their life with mental health to the point of frequent suicidal thoughts, and attempts, a diagnosis in my 40s has made my whole life make sense and is helping me (although a very difficult journey in itself), unless you’ve been there you have no idea.

It's been published that maybe the outbreak in the university where sadly someone died was with people sharing vapes

Male GPs, at least the one's I've met, shouldn't, for the most part, be treating women with mental health, pregnancy, period, hormone, related issues. I'm sure there are some good ones out there.. but I've yet to find one who could give a shit about any of these things. (And I appreciate that some women GPs are also not brilliant with some of these areas). But the only GPs I've ever felt heard by are women.

(I'm particularly remembering the male GP who told me it was normal for breastfeeding to hurt.. even though my nipples were being ripped apart and it was excruciating. And the male GP who refused to listen to me when I was close to 9 months pregnant and had a chest infection but wouldn't prescribe antibiotics so I gave birth feeling absolutely terrible).

Male and female - Builders' bum is vile; the workmen should be forced to wear waist-high trousers or underwear as part of their uniforms! The same with the shop worker builders' bums! I don't want to be going down aisle 3 looking for a pack of Cathedral City cheese to find a staff member bent over flashing their spotty, hairy, bare arse/g-strings!

The Osborns -Ozzie, etc., are absolutely awful, untalented and repulsive!

IPM · 18/03/2026 09:52

People who think Mumsnet is Reddit make themselves look ridiculous.

Why come onto AIBU and ask 'AITA?'

My answer is always going to be 'Yes, you're the arsehole'.

Ditto all this sort of bollocks.... "I (34F) and my husband (36M)"

Well yes we know he's fucking male, you've literally just told us he's your HUSBAND!

Okay. I agree that vapes look ridiculous and I can't understand why anyone would smoke OR vape, but I can't agree that people contracting meningitis because they shared them is a solid reason to ban anything.

Hardly an unpopular opinion and one which I would own with a loudhailer in the middle of Oxford Circus. Apologies if this has already been said but am only halfway through this highly entertaining thread.
