I’ve decided I don’t like tea drinkers 🤣

They always come round and leave their tea bags out on the side to resemble sad soggy ballbags which I have to then bin and it’s irritating.

I NEVER do that! Teabags go in the food waste/bin as soon as they come out of the cup.

MorphingintoMargo · 18/03/2026 09:18

Brown, khaki, buttermilk and cream are NOT holiday clothing colours. I’m looking at you M&S (and effing influencers).
Bring back bright blues, sea greens and hot pinks.

Better than having to clean out a cafetière after a visitor 😡 I always end up just moving the coffee onto all the surfaces in the kitchen in my attempt to clean up.

Pink hair looks appalling on absolutely anyone.

People who turn vegan in middle age after decades of being just vegetarian are massive pains in the arse. Even more so when every extended family gathering now has to be vegan. I like cooking and it's a nightmare making vegan puddings and cakes, they always have the ubiquitous undertone of coconut. Vegan milk chocolate, vegan butter and cheese are disgusting. And I'm sick of being lectured about how appalling I am for eating meat and dairy products.

No, going to bed at 9pm and getting up at 5am does not make you an intrinsically better person than someone who goes to bed at 2am and gets up at 10.

The vegan thing irritates me because they think everyone else should become vegan IMMEDIATELY. It was ok for them to wait until they were 35 and reach that conclusion on their own but under no circumstances should anyone else they know be afforded the same process.

And I say that as someone who is gradually transitioning to a meat free diet. I don't even really mention it unless it's specifically relevant to a conversation. But on that - 'meat' culture where people talk about how people who eat steak well done are substandard humans are absolute bores. Up there with people who still talk about how much they drank at the weekend and oh god I was so drunk I'm never drinking again in their 40s

Most problems with kids are due to poor parenting.

Yes, you may well be right.

I’m just sick of people on her making sarcastic comments when someone makes a legitimate suggestion that a particular behaviour could be due to neurodivergence. ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia etc are not rare.

myglowupera · 18/03/2026 09:21

People who peddle abortion as the only valid option when a woman is deciding what to do. If she wants to keep her baby even in less than ideal circumstances, that is a valid choice too and it is part of pro choice just as much as abortion is. I’m all for abortion being a choice but that’s all it is. It’s not THE choice.

EDIT: I would actually say this out loud and it’s definitely not light hearted, so maybe this isn’t the in the spirit of the thread. But my point still stands 😊

Inoffensive and light hearted

Yeah good luck with that 🙄😁
Seen these threads far too many times, it always brings out the arseholes.

Gentle Parenting is shit and leads to badly-behaved children.

Sooo true.

Anyone who does triathlons is self obsessed/selfish. See also most marathon runners.

Yes also Hyrox

no one cares, STFU

Craftysue · 18/03/2026 09:27

After years working in the public sector and hearing thousands of children's names I'm convinced we need a register of approved names. I've been so tempted to ask some parents what the hell were they thinking! ^^

Alpacajigsaw · 18/03/2026 09:28

Also people who drone on about pensions and retirement. So boring. The same people who 20/30 years before droned on about house prices and schools. Also very boring

The yearly Facebook post that Great aunt Maureen (or whoever) died 35 years ago. I can guarantee they aren’t thought about everyday.

I saw one recently “happy 107th birthday in heaven Nan” I mean wtf

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 18/03/2026 09:29

People who wash their towels after every use are just weird

usedtobeaylis · 18/03/2026 09:31

It's annoying when people don't understand the terms they talk about whether it's autism, gentle parenting, or obesity. People just open their mouths and let shite fall out.

Bertiebiscuit · 18/03/2026 09:32

Blue or green hair even worse, grow up people

GoldAndSilverBells · 18/03/2026 09:35

The word 'drop' needs to STOP when someone is talking about something being released (like a new book, or single, or album, or TV series.)

'Taylor Swift's new album dropped yesterday.' NOOOOOOO! STOP! Hmm It sounds stupid!

🤣
Actual lol
(Sorry, is that an acceptable response from a grown up? No?! Oh well 😂)
I see someone upthread wants a list of approved baby names, you probably would want a list of approved hairstyles, North Korea vibes.

Oh I hate jazzy coloured hair, (like blues, and greens, and purples, and bright reds,) especially on anyone over 50 >> runs and hides!

Ok, I agree with this one though.
Series come out. They don't drop. Very annoying 😁

Bertiebiscuit · 18/03/2026 09:39

In the cafe at the East V & A i queued for a ridiculously expensive coffee, a person behind the counter who made said coffee, and passed it to me, passed me the machine to tap my debit card, and the machine suggested i give a tip!!!! A TIP FOR WHAT? NO SERVICE, JUST PUTTING A CUP UNDER THE MACHINE AND THEN PASSING IT TO ME AS I STOOD IN A QUEUE. I'm still furious, as anyone can tell, and yes, i ignored the bloody machine and refused. Cheeky

That's an Americanism I think.... And yes, I still say 'series' too.
