Women who complain that all their male ex's are arseholes are usually just as big a walking red flag as men who complain that all their female ex's are bitches.

And aswell

And apart. A part of and apart have quite distinct meanings.

Pumpkinmagic · 18/03/2026 08:51

Lighthearted - I can appreciate a nice manicure but I can’t bear really long false nails. Even worse if they have some kind of design/theme/embellishments. They are so unbelievably tacky. What possesses people to part with a chunk of money to get this done? I know I’m in the minority as so many people choose to have these.

You should be allowed to push the people who have conversations on load speaker like they are on the apprentice over

I think everyone should be included in the conversation, I’ve heard both sides of this conversation and I want to weigh in with my opinion.

People who post problems, get lots of feedback and advice, engage for a while, then vanish so we never find out what happened in the end. I know they have no obligation to share their lives, but having started they shouldn’t leave us in limbo!

sliceocakeandacuppatea · 18/03/2026 08:53

I don't believe in tipping anyone. I don't get tipped for my (office) job and don't expect to be either .. so why should I tip.

Parents who share content of their child on an open Instagram (or other SM) account are self-publicising idiots. Using your children for validation/publicity, when that child is far too young to consent or understand the implications of their private life being invaded such a way, should be banned.

Most problems with kids are due to poor parenting.

💯

Kingsleadhat · 18/03/2026 08:55

Men shouldn't be allowed to teach yoga. I found myself eye level with a yogi's dangling bollocks during a downward facing dog and it was not relaxing

Fedupmumofadultsons · 18/03/2026 01:36

My husband and sons are good kind men why tar everyone because of a few bad ones what a stupid attitude

Good for you.
because it’s not a few bad ones. They’re all awful under patriarchy unless they consciously decide to be allies, and lots don’t because the current system benefits them. when all men including your sons and husband are out protecting and fighting for women’s rights, I’ll start viewing men as allies instead of enemies. But right now? I’ll take the bear thanks.

Namechangedforgoodreasons · 18/03/2026 08:57

If you really think about it, the whole thing of women wearing make-up (and feeling they want to wear it to look good) is ridiculous.

Agree. And diets.

People who call every school holiday half term are uneducated morons.

🤣 I think I might do this! Oops

CarbGoading · 18/03/2026 09:02

Cars have been the greatest source of evil in the world, creating selfish little personal tanks that can kill, requiring us to dig up grass and tarmac everything which prevents the earth dealing with flooding, pumping noxious gases into the air we breathe, and splitting up communities as people move driving distance away from where they grew up.

People who win several million quid on the lottery and don’t give up work should be made to give the money back, so it can go to someone with the imagination to actually enjoy it instead

Absolutely ! You would t see me for dust.

formalwellies · 18/03/2026 09:04

We should normalise older people arranging some sort of care funding package (either selling their house to buy a care annuity or paying in to am insurance type product) and planning to move to somewhere with professional carers as before they reach crisis point. I think proper accommodation with appropriate care as part of that is much better for everyone than living your final years in an unsuitable house with your adult children having to run themselves ragged to try to care for you. I don't think it's selfish to encourage elderly relatives to sell their homes to pay for care; it's far more selfish to encourage them to muddle through for their final years so you can hopefully inherit when they are gone. This is not an 'elderly bashing' opinion - I am already making plans for my old age.

AtIusvue · 18/03/2026 09:04

The reason why so many get food poisoning from BBQs is because it’s men who don’t usually cook at the helm.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/03/2026 00:33

Overnight oats are vile.
Actually, so are chia seeds.

And omelettes.

Hard agree. Cold, claggy and sweet. Horrible (the overnight oats.)
chia seeds are like frogspawn.

But I do I love an omelette

Dontfearthe · 18/03/2026 09:10

BauhausOfEliott · 17/03/2026 23:33

That isn’t what you said in your post or thread title though. You just asked for opinions we wouldn’t say out loud; you didn’t say ‘but only if they’re about men or non-mums and only if I agree with them’.

One of my unpopular opinions is that mums are just as likely to be total arseholes as everyone else.

A lot of mums with brats are entitled arseholes.

FlyingPandas · 18/03/2026 09:14

Whistling in public is foul and offensive and should be illegal.

Dog owners who fail to train their dogs not to jump up at people should be subject to an instant £10 fine for every jump.

The explosion of social media and the influencer generation is ridiculous and abhorrent and will do more to screw up our collective mental health than anything else.

Neurodiversity can be incredibly difficult but it is neither a disaster nor a fucking superpower (see above comment about the ridiculousness of social media and the twattery spouted on there).

Bundleflower · 18/03/2026 09:16

I know very few children from nuclear families living in the countryside with anything like ADHD.
I know lots of children to single parents (no shade on that one) living in towns with ADHD.
I believe it’s usually (but obviously not always)
massively environmental.

Jacopo · 18/03/2026 09:16

That some therapists need to teach their clients resilience instead of just affirming them in their vulnerability.
