Just a general lighthearted one. Not aibu. Tell us something surprising, shocking, gripping or funny about someone you know personally , or an experience you had , or a famous person. Without giving anything away.
I've said this one before but....I know a very very well loved tv actor who is absolutely vile IRL. Im not going to out him but your jaw would drop if you knew..
Also I once lived in a place where a woman and her husband were upstanding members of the community, prominant locally, liked being respected, true blue types. They loved pronouncing on who was right and who was wrong in all situations. One day she told me conspiratorially and with great glee that they thought they'd been shafted financially by a local business bloke, so one night they put sugar in his petrol tank and slashed two of his tyres. I was young at the time and completely shocked.
Finally, in the C of E church in my old village where I grew up there were a bunch of smiley 'upstanding 'regular churchgoers who didnt like the new , slightly happy clappy vicar . He waa modern, and kind and seemed to care about the poorer people in the village . Rather like you'd imagine Jesus might have done. So the nice upatanding churchgoing regulars orchestrated a smear campaign against him and didn't stop until they'd made sure the vicar had had a breakdown and hadcto keave his post. It was.such a lovely, kindly village .🤣

My aunt and uncle live very, very rurally, in a small farming community.
There, the local church is kind of the social hub of the community, even though the vast majority of the members are VERY low-church, almost non-believers.
But attending the services is about the only way to have any sort of social life.

The local residents pretty much manage the affairs of the church themselves. One "upstanding" local landowner was in charge of the finances. She stole over £10,000 from the church accounts.
Bizarrely, the community decided not to report it to the police, but deal with it themselves. And by "deal with it", they basically meant tut amongst themselves, gossip, and wag their fingers. And this woman is still swanning into regular church services with a smile on her face, being warmly welcomed! As far as I know, she's not paid it back.

They justify it that in these tiny, self-sufficient communities, it's just not worth it to fall out with your neighbours. Because when your tractor has burst a tire, or your barn is on fire, or you've had an accident, it's the neighbours who will get there first to help you.

Your sister SHOULD be sacked.

If I knew her, she WOULD be sacked! Absolutely disgraceful behaviour!

I don’t know what I can get away with saying on here but he’s Welsh. I better not say anymore than that.

Well, that’s not unusual.

I know. Different rules.

I know the sexual kink of an Australian A list actor because my MIL used to date him (before he was famous). Why she chose to impart this information to her son is beyond me...

That is gross misconduct and there will be a trail of whose file she’s looked at. I hope she does get caught.

Not too exciting but I know that my holier than thou, squeaky clean SIL had a fling with a much older married man years ago.
I like to remind myself of her dirty secret whenever she is perched on her moral high horse, looking down her nose at me or dishing out patronising advice or devaluing me and DH.
She would DIE if she knew that I know!!

you should let he know you know next time she's beings snooty with you! lol

I know my father has a secret son who is around 20 years old now. My grandma told me this few hours before she died. He had an affair, shortly after he left my mum for another woman, had more kids. His second wife has no clue about his son.

😮
