Because i work in the health industry and i and others will do the best to stop this weight loss private jab industry.

This is the most toe-curlingly embarrassing, ignorant set of posts on here that I have ever seen. Honestly, you will need to name change after this.

You have proved nothing.
You have no idea what private prescribing involves.
You have no idea about weight loss injections.
You have actually made a public forum post that will sit on the internet FOREVER demonstrating all of the above.

Why won't you name the pharmacy then?

NippyNinjaCrab · 11/03/2026 16:12

Good grief! Hey if you're hangry have a snickers. I do not believe a word of your post. What is an ex semi athlete? Have you been drinking OP,? Name and shame the pharmacy, but you can't as its a lie. 😂

Stompythedinosaur · 11/03/2026 16:12

So you lied to obtain a prescription (by saying you wanted to lose weight) and are upset you were then passed through the automated checking system?

If your BMI is below 25 you'll be rejected when a prescriber looks at your weight and photos.

Soontobesingles · 11/03/2026 16:12

I also managed to access the medication despite being in the normal range for my height - and yes it’s very concerning how easy it is to buy a prescription weight loss med with potential serious side effects when you don’t need it. But all the ladies on here delighted that they are now skinny will never ever admit that there are huge ethical issues around the implementation of these meds.

SuzyFandango · 11/03/2026 16:13

museumum · 11/03/2026 16:02

That's awful - who did you go to? Please name and shame.
I went with Lloyds Pharmacy and had to provide photos and a video of me on a scale moving between my face and my drivers licence ID and the weight on the scale and step on and off to prove it was me (BMI 33 at the time). It was very thorough.

This is quite fakeable. You can hide weights.

EatMoreChocolate44 · 11/03/2026 16:13

Firtreefiona · 11/03/2026 15:41

How do you know? Maybe she wants to lose the 2 stone she put on post-kids and has tried for a good few years with no effect. Does she have to simply stay fatter than she wants purely because she’s not fat enough? Can you see that that makes no sense? 7.5 stone is perfectly healthy.

I'm the same height and weight as the OP and I don't need to loose weight. Your view seems to be that weight loss drugs for vanity reasons are fine, encouraged even. This is reverting back to the skinny culture in the 90s when stick thin models were the ideal. If everyone was encouraged to take weight lose drugs to fit into a size 6 then we are going to have a whole host of issues with eating disorders, body dysmorphophobia, not to mention the side effects etc. We should be celebrating 'normal' bodies and normalising 'normal' bodies. Weight loss drugs are amazing for genuine people who need it.

Well done to you. I started at 21 and now down to 15. I think people who haven’t lived it just don’t get it .. they think we don’t understand the concept of Calories (we very much do!)

Keep going !

Well done you to .
Even with the jabs it has been the hardest journey of my life .the stakes were so high ,I was killing myself with food .
Terrified of what happens when I have to come of it

Another day, another "but weight loss jabs are REALLY EVIL AND BAD" thread

FairyMary9 · 11/03/2026 16:14

ilovesooty · 11/03/2026 15:58

It's not even clear what you want from this thread, let alone why you're being so aggressive to other posters.

OP is drunk is my guess.

MargoLivebetter · 11/03/2026 16:15

@SuzyFandango which is why reputable pharmacies won't supply it to people who are not over BMI of 27 with some additional health conditions, or who can't evidence that is where they started from (so if you are maintaining, you can still order). Many pharmacies won't run the checks until after you have paid, because they don't have any need to check people who are not actual customers. If you are not eligible, they will refund you.

There will always be people who cheat they system, whichever system it is. Surely, that is on them?

BoredZelda · 11/03/2026 16:15

Enyastar · 11/03/2026 15:55

Because i work in the health industry and i and others will do the best to stop this weight loss private jab industry.

So, because you picked somewhere sketchy (allegedly), you think it’s all a scam and want to shut it down, despite the fact that will stop people like me, (diabetic, met all the NHS criteria for getting the jab, but my local NHS wouldn’t prescribe) being able to access a medication that has improved my health?

I wonder why people are so keen to rubbish private healthcare when it’s fat people who are benefiting from it? If you work in the “health industry” surely you’d be really happy that people are doing something pro-active to improve their health?

DarkForces · 11/03/2026 16:15

Well if you lie that's on you.

Haribitch · 11/03/2026 16:15

This is bullshit. I’ve bought from 4 providers.

None have reviewed and approved before the payment stage.

Who are you supposing to have ordered through?

SilenceInside · 11/03/2026 16:16

@SuzyFandango the Op hasn’t said if they even submitted photos, just that it was apparently immediately approved. The implication is that the pharmacy did nothing at all to check weight and also prescribed at a BMI that is in the healthy range.

But the NHS won't prescribe it.
Why don't you want people to be able to lose weight?

People who are not overweight do not need to lose it, and the risks of these jabs are thus not outweighed by health benefits in doing so.

They are in my case.

It should just be that face to face/in person consultation is required. Its not hard. The resistance to this coming in is people who know it will limit access to the people abusing it for cosmetic reasons.

Looks like it. What a nasty thing to do.

RobinEllacotStrike · 11/03/2026 16:18

My supplier is very rigorious & this wouldnt be possible

You won't find out because there would be serious implications to making these sorts of allegations when they are simply not true.

Dexterrr · 11/03/2026 16:18

YorksMa · 11/03/2026 15:34

Gosh you are angry, and still haven't explained why. Perhaps blood pressure meds would be a better option for you.

This is what OP needs
It'll calm her from all the angry 'Wow, just wow' nonsense 😂
