You want to go from BMI of 24 (normal) to BMI of 19 (also normal) and are prepared to pay for it. I see no reason why you need to wait until you are overweight to access help. What do you suggest someone in this position does? Eat junk continually in order to get overweight enough to access help?

SunshineAndSandalsMakeMeHappy · 11/03/2026 15:31

I’m not sure why you’re angry, many people who have taken the jabs and lost weight are still prescribed them at that BMI are they not? Many prescribers are now prescribing at a lower BMI there was a thread on here the other day about it.

People who have been on GLP1s previously and now in a ‘healthy’ BMI can purchase for maintenance - if you change supplier, you answer the initial questions, pay then a prescriber will review. If you then can’t provide evidence of prior use then they reject it and return the money - they don’t usually review before payment or at least that’s never been my experience

Zanatdy · 11/03/2026 15:33

Madness. At that weight you could soon get into a healthy weight range via calorie deficit

KitsyWitsy · 11/03/2026 15:33

Why won’t you say which pharmacy? Because you’ll be debunked?

So are you going to tell us who you used or just continue to rant?

No, the standard process is that you pay and get refunded if not approved. They’re hardly going to pay a doctor to review prescriptions that might never be paid for.

If you’re going to make things up, at least be funny.

YorksMa · 11/03/2026 15:34

Gosh you are angry, and still haven't explained why. Perhaps blood pressure meds would be a better option for you.

No, they don’t. You pay and then it goes through. They don’t work for free, and loads of people would sign up and then not pay.

So; which prescriber was it? And what is your actual issue with weight loss injections? They will save a hell of a lot of lives and a lot of money in illness caused by weight.

But, name the provider because without that, this is all bullshit.

Please tell us the pharmacy so people can boycott it. I’ve never heard of a pharmacy to do this, we can help you report them.

It’s not madness. It’s simply not true.

Weeelokthen · 11/03/2026 15:36

Forgive me but what is your point 🤔

Why waste the doctor's time and then people don't pay. Have you ever gone private? Card details as you walk in the door, you don't see a doctor or get a prescription first. You don't get anything done privately without paying first.

I very much suspect that to be the case

OP isn’t going to do that because it’s either a blatant lie or she didn’t realise they take the payment before verifying you meet the criteria and refund you if you don’t.

InLoveWithAI · 11/03/2026 15:36

Yeah I'm calling bullshit until you give us the name of the pharmacy.

FaceEatingLeopard · 11/03/2026 15:36

Stuff me but what the hell are you on about OP? Do you even know?

Firtreefiona · 11/03/2026 15:37

Enyastar · 11/03/2026 15:34

Honestly, what’s the issue? You’re not wanting to use them to make yourself underweight. That would be unethical, obviously but I can’t see why you shouldn’t be able to use them to lose weight within the normal range. I can see why the NHS would restrict them for finance reasons, but if you are funding them yourself, who cares? 5ft 2 and 9.5 stone is chubby.

Thingything · 11/03/2026 15:37

Enyastar · 11/03/2026 15:24

Ive done and passed all stages..i just needed to give my card details.

Nah they'll charge you, then it'll get passed to a doctor to second check, then they'll say you're not entitled to them after all (not big enough) and then you'll have to chase for weeks for a refund. These prescribers have some very dodgy business practices but the regulator has cracked down a lot so the one dodgy thing they are not doing is prescribing these meds to people who are not overweight.

Avantiagain · 11/03/2026 15:37

It hasn't been prescribed. It has to be checked first.

BMI of 24 is within a healthy weight range

But OP doesn't need help given the weight she is. I might as well say I'll develop a heroin addiction as it's the only way I'll get checked into rehab.
