Feckin furious about skinny jabs

Ive just told sn online practioner my BMI is 24.4..im 5ft 2 and weigh 9st 7 amd i want to lose 2 stone.
Gone through online consult and for £265 i can start my jabs.
Fuck me........

Because i work in the health industry and i and others will do the best to stop this weight loss private jab industry.

Have you previously been prescribed it? Do you have other conditions that override the bmi rules?

Seems bizarre tbh. I had to send loads of info. I had to send photos of myself in tight clothes from different angles, and I had them share info with my gp.

I'm not denying there are dodgy sites who will sell anything to anyone, but even now a year on, I still have to wait for it to be reviewed etc.

I think there's a fair chance the place you've signed up for isn't even legit.

Have you had trouble maintaining your BMI op? Why would you even be trying to do a gotcha on this issue?

As I’ve explained I think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick. It’s only when you pay that they drill down on your exact weight and BMI. Then they refuse and refund you.

As a fellow 5’2” person, at that height and weight you are on the top borderline of the healthy weight range. I don’t see why you’re so angry, you clearly need to lose weight.

They don't prescribe for BMI under 30 unless there are additional health requirements and for those it usually has to be an NHS prescription. Are you sure you were on a genuine site? There's lots of fake/scammy ones.

Given there is an epidemic of obesity in the UK and globally what is it precisely about weightloss injections that grinds your gears so badly?

Do you also object to gastric bypasses, Orlistat, weightloss hypnotherapy, diets and so on?

Nothing wrong with being at the top of the healthy weight range - that is why there is a range.

She’ll be angry that you told her to lose weight! This is near enough my stats too and I’m chubby. I’d love to lose a stone - I’d look and feel so much better and my physio tells me it would help my knees so much, but I’d have to get so much fatter in order to access the jabs (and tbh being 1 stone over my ideal weight isn’t such a biggie for me).

Pancreatitis, both acute and chronic which, although rare, we have evidence for. But I do confess it's more of a fear as I stressed. I also said it was a risk/benefit ratio. I also confess it is easy for me to say as I am not overweight.

I’m confused - this is a spare time leisure activity? What is the point of trying to get a single prescription for something you neither want nor need in order to get super angry about it all yet powerless to actually change anything? Just put it in the box marked ‘step away from the irrational activity’ and get back to semi athleting (whatever that is!)
