So the child murderer Ian Huntley is dead, finally. Pity it took so long, i hope he died in pain and terror, and a medal to whoever did it. Karma sometimes works.

His death means absolutely nothing to me. Justice was served at his trial and there's no need for him to be mentioned again.

I agree with you entirely. Hopefully the families of Jessica and Holly can now find real closure.

A medal to who did it? How shockingly disrespectful to his victims and their families.

Win/Win really. Huntleys dead and his murderer who is just as bad will have another 20+ years added to his sentence, hopefully meaning he will never be released.

RIP Holly and Jessica.

Hope Jessica and Holly can finally rest in peace. The attacker deserves a medal.

You mean the man who raped and murdered a heavily pregnant women and murdered two other?
He deserves a medal does he?

He's already serving a full life sentence.

His killer will never be released anyway, he’s on a whole life term. It makes no difference to him.

As for Huntley, yes it’s good that he’s dead but I feel for families of both his victims and the victims of his killer who are having it all dredged up again. Hopefully the media attention will die down soon and we won’t be hearing about Huntley again.

Never2many · 07/03/2026 12:16

IMO anyone who is celebrating a triple murderer and rapist is as depraved as he is.

Clearly has 0 empathy for his victims, too caught up in frothing over Huntley’s death to actually consider what they’re saying and who they’re celebrating.

So yeah. If you think a triple murderer and rapist deserves a medal then you’re no better than a triple murderer and rapist.

RIP Holly and Jessica.

He’s already serving a whole life order.

So instead of things being worse for him he’s now being celebrated by thicko’s all over the internet.

I read somewhere that someone had even started a gofundme for him, and while I don’t know whether that’s true I’m entirely sure that it’s possible, likely even.

And now he’ll probably have women writing to him in jail, fawning over him, wanting to marry him and whatever else these stupid women do with these depraved killers.

So for him it’s definitely been a case of win-win. He’s a hero now.

Hope those saying he deserves a medal are proud of themselves.

Hope none of them know any victims of rape.

Now watch all our taxes go into an investigation and compensation..

Netcurtainnelly · 07/03/2026 12:32

Should have gone to the gallows in 2003.
Apparently Wayne Couzens is now scared to come out of his cell.
Perhaps these people are now feeling fear like their victims did.

@plantseeds I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend- that’s horrendous. You’re right that the press pushes some stories more than others. I’m sorry your friend’s awful death passed by unremarked- it’s very wrong. I hope her killer received justice.

NotnowMildrid · 07/03/2026 12:37

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

He made that choice as soon as he committed those terrible murders.

The man who did it killed a woman and her son, then raped and murdered a pregnant woman. So no, he shouldn't be getting a fucking medal.

Exactly. Anyone spouting this medal/pint/hero shit should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and think of his poor victims' families.

Ian Huntley is finally dead. Good riddance. The person who did it deserves a medal. Well done. Roy in hell Huntley.

Someone who killed three people (four if you count the baby one of the women he murdered was carrying, she was also raped before he strangled her to death) doesn't deserve anything.

SapphireSeptember · 07/03/2026 12:46

plantseeds · 07/03/2026 12:00

One of my friends was raped and murdered. It received next to no media attention, even though she was only fifteen. I think part of it was that she wasn’t from a very affluent family and she was actually six months pregnant at the time, which to me makes the crime worse but to the media and press I guess that made her less likely to be seen as an innocent victim.

It also happened the same day as a massive national event which dominated the headlines for weeks so I suppose that took over. But no one will ever say her killer was evil or will be in the darkest corner of hell - but wasn’t her rape and murder as senseless and as cruel?

There are so many. A lot we’ve never even heard of because it happened at the wrong time of year or to the wrong sort of girl. We know the rules don’t we? Don’t be black, don’t be poor. Murder a pretty white girl = evil. Murder a poor white girl, who are you again?

I am so sorry about your friend. I agree that her being pregnant makes it worse, and that she was only 15.

tsmainsqueeze · 07/03/2026 12:47

notacooldad · 07/03/2026 10:11

Let's not make a hero of his killer though.
He was an evil murderer.
He has done it for his own glory ,not to right a wrong.

Exactly.

I do not celebrate his death but i am glad that he is no longer on this planet and i hope the families of those precious girls possibly get some kind of relief knowing the same .
I hope the monster who killed Sarah is not far behind.

Why rely on literal criminals to mete out justice when you could have just hanged him years ago.

I’ll never understand the reluctance of Western governments on this subject. They feel more for violent criminals than for victims.

Why didn’t you just kill Couzens? We all know he did it. You pay for his roof and three squares.

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 07/03/2026 12:50

Im not actually sure on this one. Saves the public purse a fortune. However, he's at peace, no longer suffering ... maybe Holly and Jessica's parents feel short changed ... but maybe not, perhaps it gives them closure.

WeepingAngelInTheTardis · 07/03/2026 12:51

I hope the families of Jessica & Holly feel like justice has been served. I’m glad the monster is dead, what he did was horrific.

LizzieW1969 · 07/03/2026 12:03

I was involved in the original investigation and the Bichard Inquiry. Clearly I feel no sorrow for his death. I hope he suffered, but doubt he knew much about it.

However, we don't really know how the families feel. They may believe that any tiny amount of control over the situation they had has been ripped away from them. They may have preferred that he'd been forced to rot without freedom until death from old age or a long, drawn out disease. They may feel that he's been given the easy way out that he wanted. I don't think we should automatically assume that this is the outcome that the families would have wanted or will take any comfort from. And imagine all that pain and anguish being stirred up again by having him on all the front pages again.

As for anyone cheerleading his murderer. This was a triple murderer and rapist. One of his victims was pregnant when he raped and murdered her. No moral high ground whatsoever.

tigger1001 · 07/03/2026 12:52

Bellaunion · 07/03/2026 10:15

The guy who killed him is a triple murder who raped and murdered a women and her son.

Still think he deserves a medal? He sounds just as bad as Huntley.

I'm not sad that Huntely has died but I do get frustrated about people wanting to give medals and "drinks" (as was on a thread about Ian Watkins) to these people. They shouldn't be celebrated or given "medals". It's frankly an insult to the families of the victims of their crimes.

Edited

Completely agree.

i won't lose any sleep over Huntley being dead, but it does sicken me seeing posts trying to make a hero of his murderer. He isn't a hero - he's a vicious murderer himself. The family of his victims must be in despair at seeing him described as a hero and should get a medal.
