Good riddance Huntley

So the child murderer Ian Huntley is dead, finally. Pity it took so long, i hope he died in pain and terror, and a medal to whoever did it. Karma sometimes works.

I was hoping he would survive the attack for just long enough to suffer the experience of being blinded and the pain of recovering from his other sore wounds then he could have been killed a month later.

Luddite26 · 07/03/2026 11:38

Yes I'm glad he's dead . Good riddance.
My thoughts will always be with those two girls and their families. May they be resting in peace and may their families have some closure from this.

And hope his family can get some peace from what he has put them through too.

Agree. How can something like that be allowed to happen in prison

Happens a lot…..bored men with time on their hands. Anything is fair game to be repurposed! I’ve seen some things in my time that are surprising to say the least!

I feel this ( being in a workshop) would be an opportune moment rather than pre planned.

Whyhaveibeencutoutofmamsnot · 07/03/2026 11:39

The medals should go to the prison staff and hospital staff who have a duty of care to these people and have to treat people equally regardless of what they have done and in difficult conditions (staff shortages etc).

Ian Huntley is finally dead. Good riddance. The person who did it deserves a medal. Well done. Roy in hell Huntley.

They've got a lot of time on their hands to plan all kinds of stuff.

Prison officers aren't superhuman either, they won't have turned any kind of blind eye because now they'll be under investigation to see if they were doing their job properly.

NoYourNameChanged · 07/03/2026 11:40

‘A medal to whoever did it’ 🤡

I don’t think there’s much to rejoice in here. Prisoners aren’t safe in prisons, and so nor are the prison staff. Huntley is dead, which is what he seemed to want anyway, but so still are Holly and Jessica. They won’t be brought back by his death, their final hours cannot be changed. Of course, his presence in it didn’t improve the world, but little changes now he’s gone, other than his face and name being everywhere in the news.

Hope Jessica and Holly can finally rest in peace. The attacker deserves a medal.

Ah, hope you’re proud of the fact you’re hero worshipping a rapist and murderer. Well done.

Read the fucking thread.

PracticalPolicy · 07/03/2026 11:44

Personally I had hoped he would rot in jail till he was 90. Another 40 years to regret his actions and wish he was somewhere else. No family or friends. No life really. A much better punishment than death.

Here's the guy who did it. A triple killer who raped and strangled a pregnant woman and murdered two others.

Huntley was a monster no one is arguing that. But its repugnant that people are crowing a man who murdered a pregnant woman in glory and thinking he's somehow better.

You want to give a medal to a rapist and murderer. That’s sick, you and the op can go celebrate him together, count thr rest of us out.

ItWasObviouslyGoingToHappenYouPlum · 07/03/2026 11:45

Muffinmam · 07/03/2026 11:23

No one is making a hero out of a pedo child murderer.

He is a reason why we need to bring back the death penalty.

Did you actually read the op?

plantseeds · 07/03/2026 11:46

There are many acts of unspeakable evil in this world. All this talk about the darkest corner of hell is so childish and ridiculous. If there is a hell, the darkest corner of it won’t be reserved for an inadequate man with a nasty temper, which is what he was.

The murders were awful; they were senseless, cruel, but it’s a long list of names, some familiar, some not.

Strange isn't it? Considering they had such strong opinions in their opening post.

No to giving a medal to a rapist killer
glad my tax isn’t spent on Huntley

It possible that they’re embarrassed, after reading that they were saying that a man who raped and strangled a pregnant woman deserved a medal?

Or else it was simply a goady thread title to get us all frothing at the mouth?

Exactly. The only reason that the tripple rapist and killer murdered Huntley was, 1) because he enjoyed it, 2) because it gives him status, makes him feared and less likely to be murdered/mauled by another inmate.

That is nothing to celebrate, in fact it's a sick cycle of sadism that these perverts get off on.

plantseeds · 07/03/2026 12:00

One of my friends was raped and murdered. It received next to no media attention, even though she was only fifteen. I think part of it was that she wasn’t from a very affluent family and she was actually six months pregnant at the time, which to me makes the crime worse but to the media and press I guess that made her less likely to be seen as an innocent victim.

It also happened the same day as a massive national event which dominated the headlines for weeks so I suppose that took over. But no one will ever say her killer was evil or will be in the darkest corner of hell - but wasn’t her rape and murder as senseless and as cruel?

There are so many. A lot we’ve never even heard of because it happened at the wrong time of year or to the wrong sort of girl. We know the rules don’t we? Don’t be black, don’t be poor. Murder a pretty white girl = evil. Murder a poor white girl, who are you again?
