To think I've had my last period?

HaveIhadmylastperiod · 05/03/2026 21:07

I'm 51 and according to the app on my phone my last period was 64 days ago.

Is that it now?

What age were you when you had your last period?

OP posts:
ItWasMyTurn · 05/03/2026 21:09

My periods stopped at 50, then came back! I was 59 when they stopped completely

SabbatWheel · 05/03/2026 21:11

Mine stopped for 11 months, restarted every other month for 6 months and THEN finished. I was 46 at my last one.

StopWindingBobStopWinding · 05/03/2026 21:12

I’m 54. I went six months without one and then the bastards came back. Starting to think this will never end.

ArcticSkua · 05/03/2026 21:12

I'm 51 and I had a period in Nov.... and then again in Feb. It's just random at this point!

Mayviewpoint · 05/03/2026 21:13

When you’ve not had a period for 12 months you can consider you’ve stopped. Twice I had an 11 month gap, thought it was over but it wasn’t.

Merryoldgoat · 05/03/2026 21:15

I’m 47 and it’s been 98 for me - oh how exciting - I hope I’m done with the fuckers.

Easterbunnygettingawrapping · 05/03/2026 21:15

I'm 54 and have had 3 a year for the past 2 years. An hour of red smudging once this year.

Last one last summer...

Done2much · 05/03/2026 21:15

I was 55 and had had almost a year period free! no more arrived after that one though

MotherAbigail · 05/03/2026 21:15

Yeah I had an 11.5 month gap and then had another one. That one was the last one though. I was 51

QuirkyHorse · 05/03/2026 21:17

I had an 8 month gap before the last hurrah.
It seems to be extremely common.

RuthW · 05/03/2026 21:18

I doubt you have finished. Mine were 7 months apart for about three years at the end. I very much doubt you will get another 10 months without one.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/03/2026 21:22

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

No, you don't trust your uterus one bit until you've passed a full year - and then still carry some emergency supplies for a while yet.

Source: 6 months, 3 months, 11 months and one week, 2 months, 7 months, 16 days, 4 months, 10 days (and then lasting 3.5 weeks).

elQuintoConyo · 05/03/2026 21:22

My last was December 2024. I'm 50 + 11months old.

Defuckinglighted!

YourWinter · 05/03/2026 21:25

You can’t be sure until you’ve had at least a year without one.

My last one was at 51 (as was my mother’s), but I had a mastectomy and had just started chemotherapy, one quite long period started a few days after my first chemo and then never any more.

topsecretcyclist · 05/03/2026 21:27

My cycle has been 65 days, 51 days, 122 day, 38 days, 25 days, 107 days over the past year. So although I hope you are done, you probably aren't.

I will say that after years of very heavy periods mine are now very light and I only get 3 or 4 days, rather than 4 days of heavy, a couple of light days, nothing, then surprise, a couple more days!

I'm 50 soon, so I'm hoping this is the slow end to 40 years of the damn thing!

EmpressaurusKitty · 05/03/2026 21:27

I’m 52. I went 6 months without a period last year, but I’ve had 2 since December.

Really, really hoping that’s it now. One of the most annoying things is not being able to predict them any more.

Lennonjingles · 05/03/2026 21:28

My last one was when I was 51, where I had 3 in the one year, the last was really quite heavy, which I was surprised by.

goudacheese · 05/03/2026 21:29

I was 51 when I had my last period and I remember it lasted for 3 weeks, just went on and on like a final clear out. Before that I had an 8 month gap.

Topseyt123 · 05/03/2026 21:30

I was just short of my 57th birthday when I had my last one. None since and I'll be 60 this summer so I can finally be considered postmenopausal. Woohoo! Liberation.

landlordhell · 05/03/2026 21:30

51 when I had the last but I did go 11 months at 50 and then had another one so 54 days is nothing. In the last few years I was having one, skipping two, having one etc. Now 55.

Yeah I once got to 13 months then had a rogue one. Had sore boobs and ovulation mucus before as well. Nothing since .

Freddobar · 05/03/2026 21:41

I'm 49 and still getting a period every month. Maybe 1-3 days early or 1-4 days late. I thought by now they would be getting a bit unpredictable but not a chance

MarchionessVonSausage · 05/03/2026 21:45

Such an interesting thread! I'm 51, went 10 months without one and thought great, must be done. Then it came back... have had two in 2 months.

Seems common if these experiences are typical.

BruFord · 05/03/2026 21:47

I’m 51 and still regular. Getting annoying now but I suppose they could stop anytime. 🤞

Usernamenotfound1 · 05/03/2026 21:51

53 and still regular.

i am fine with it as menopause seems to do a number on your joints, bones and skin so I’ll keep the hormones as long as i can. I’ve just had an x ray in preparation for surgery and was complimented on my excellent bone density 🤣
