To think I've had my last period?

HaveIhadmylastperiod · 05/03/2026 21:07

I'm 51 and according to the app on my phone my last period was 64 days ago.

Is that it now?

What age were you when you had your last period?

OP posts:

Can I ask you all on the thread those with eratic periods, are you on HRT? Does this help to regulate them or is it still random

CandidStork · 05/03/2026 21:53

38 and currently on day 65.. also had v low amh so wonder if this is beginning of the end!

SusanChurchouse · 05/03/2026 21:55

I had my last one in March last year which will probably be my actual last one as I’m now in medical menopause due to breast cancer treatment. I wish I could say I’m happy about it but I’d have periods back in a heartbeat if it took away the horrendous menopause symptoms!

MrsLizzieDarcy · 05/03/2026 21:55

I'm 55 and twice I thought "yippee that's it" but nope, the fuckers came back and still make fairly regular appearances. I'm starting to think I'll have them forever at this stage Hmm

I’m not, I take Menopace Max which got rid of my hot flushes but haven’t felt the need to look into HRT yet.

I’m just hoping I won’t have them much longer.

likelysuspect · 05/03/2026 21:59

No you have to wait a year OP, sorry

Im 54, still monthly, regular as clockwork. Awful

HandfulOfMoths · 05/03/2026 22:01

What app is everyone talking about?! I’m 50, had a very heavy period then next period started a week early and now 3 weeks in and still going. Just want rid of the fuckers.

I use samsung health

For those on HRT how do you know when your periods actually stop. Ive just started HRT.

If I were you, I'd want a referral to gynae/a decent abdominal and transvaginal scan at a hospital that specialises, rather than the local hospital.

I was sent for a scan on the basis that I was still bleeding erratically at 53 and they were quite heavy when they happened.

I'm now waiting for the appointment where they'll confirm what the very lovely lady showed me at the scan - I've got a huge amount of adenomyosis, a very enlarged and inflamed uterus and very possibly endometriosis (as they can't see that on ultrasound) - and what the options are for treating it, as it's quite possibly why I have a load of back pain, look swollen (I'd just written it off as eating too much) and bled like a stuck pig for 3.5 weeks this January.

BerryTwister · 05/03/2026 22:18

I had regular periods and then when I was 48 I had a horrendous period, heaviest ever, so I stocked up on super-plus tampons……and never bled again. I’m 58 now.

thereare4lights · 05/03/2026 22:22

I'm 52 and it's 46 days since my last one. That's my biggest gap yet and no sign of anything. It would be lovely if that were it.

1000StrawberryLollies · 05/03/2026 22:23

I'm 54. Mine were getting a bit erratic and now I haven't had one for 6 months, but I've read enough to know that's no guarantee I'm done! I'm not on any HRT. Some supplements pretty much sorted my initial peri symptoms, but there's no telling if I have more in store, I guess!

GentleSheep · 05/03/2026 22:24

51 was my last one. It came 9 months after the one before so that I thought THAT was my last one! Had one last hurrah then that was it!

cartfred · 05/03/2026 22:25

No. 52 here. Was at 10 months and one arrived. Now at 7 months and hoping!

Utterlyexhausted · 05/03/2026 22:25

I’m 52 and I haven’t had a period for 80 days..I’m hoping I’m done!

H1ppychicken · 05/03/2026 22:29

Did anyone miss them?! I'm 48 and still regular but lots of post menopausal riends have told me they miss the peaks and troughs and one said she missed the 'cleansing feeling' - so Ive bedn trying to appreciate still menstruating! Anyone else found you miss them or do they get so annoying towards the end you feel glad?

WhoStoleAllTheUserNames · 05/03/2026 22:30

I had big gaps then a whole load close together, then a bigger gap, loads close together and so on, with lengthening big gaps each time. That included a 3 month gap about 5 years before they stopped, a 6 month gap a couple of years later, a 9 month gap another time. Last one as I turned 50.

No I do NOT miss it!!

Mayviewpoint · 05/03/2026 22:31

@gtamum i went through menopause without HRT.

I don’t miss the period but do miss what goes with them. Stock up on vaginal oestrogen is all I will say!!

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 05/03/2026 22:42

52 and still pretty regular here. Given that my mum and sister didn’t hit menopause until 60, I reckon Aunt Flo will be a regular visitor
for a while yet!

EBearhug · 05/03/2026 22:44

64 days is nothing. My latest came after 9 months of no bleeding. Do not throw out your protection yet.

(Age 53 and 52 days since my last bleed.)

Wow I didn’t think that was possible.

Didimum · 05/03/2026 22:51

64 days isn’t long at all. That’s only one definite skipped period?

FruAashild · 05/03/2026 22:57

I'm now 55 and until about 18 months ago I had pretty regular periods (missing maybe one or two each year since I was 50). In the last 18 month it's gone properly haywire, I've had a month long bleeds then a normal period then nothing then a mega period again. I'm about 4 months since my last mega period now which is the longest gap so far. My Mum had her last period at 55 and said she hadn't had a period for a year when that one came so will be interesting to see if I replicate her experience (both our periods and pregnancies were similar).

Alpacajigsaw · 05/03/2026 23:02

I had some longer cycles, 4 - 6 months in my late 40s. Last one was around 6 months after my 50th birthday 🎉 I’m now over 2 years since my last one
