I wouldn't be so quick to pin the blame on the US or Israel. It's a tragic loss of young lives, however it happened, but we don't know the details. Personally, I don't place much trust in information originating solely from the Iranian regime.

In all honesty, do you trust Trump or Ben? Both have been known to be complete liars.

What’s that got to do with this school bombing?
Who are they saving by bombing a school?

Who are “they”? Do you know for sure which side it was that struck the school?
PP I responded to originally said: “Well if no one had been firing missiles and dropping bombs would those poor kids still be alive?”
Are you (and pp) only concerned about those kids and not about the ones who were gunned down by their own government only recently?

Ah, you wish the world to be black and white.

Religious sectarianism is in way comparable to having a neighbour who wishes to build nuclear weapons, and who has sworn to ‘wipe you from the map’.

Nice try btw - who bombed the school?

What the fuck? I have literally written that I don't things are black and white.

The nuclear weapons are Iran's equivalent of Iraqs weapons of mass destruction. They are the excuse to get to the oil.

anotherside · 04/03/2026 09:05

Looks like a case of faulty US/Israeli intelligence. Imagine being on the team that fired the missiles knowing you just massacred more than a 100 children.

RelativisticJet · 04/03/2026 08:20

I don’t see a lack of humanity on this thread.

I do see an unwillingness to apportion blame illegitimately, though.

It’s the same as with numerous Gaza threads.
Anyone questioning the simplistic “Israel (or in this case also the US) = pure evil” narrative is accused of lacking humanity.

supernaturalmilkshake · 04/03/2026 09:06

They were killed by a misfired Iranian rocket.

And where are the mass graves for the 30,000+ men, women and children that were slaughtered by the islamic republic regime over the space of a few days back in January and all those murdered by the regime since 1979?

Don’t talk nonsense. Still waiting for results of a full nonpartisan investigation but the evidence thus far strongly suggests faulty US/Israeli intelligence.

What evidence is that? And good luck finding a non-partisan investigation in Iran that will potentially end up blaming Iran

The American's are famous for not really caring about school killings. In the US regular school shooting are just part of life.

Whilst Iran care very much about the schooling, and lives of young girls and women.

anotherside · 04/03/2026 09:10

olderandwiser83 · 04/03/2026 07:46

With the intelligence that US and Israel have why would they bomb a school? And out of the thousands of bombs that have dropped on military targets with minimal civilian losses of life, why have they only hit one school if their intel is so bad? We'll probably never know the truth, but there was that image of a rocket tail circulating that looked like a misfire (and the girl's school was fairly close to a military base) which sounds more like friendly fire - that sounds a lot more plausible as malfunctions can happen especially if they have been deployed or even manufactured in haste.

The deaths are a tragedy to be sure, but give me a break about Iran's crocodile tears after killing 30,000 of their own people.

Americans are shooting one another at a rate of 20,000 per year. Shall we drop a bomb on them?

That is not true. Not even the US Government has denied it was them. Only the conspiracy theorists pedal these lies.

This is absolutely correct. When my son waa critically injured in Afghanistan we had a visit from a welfare guy, someone high ranking who had served all over the world. He told us that life is cheap to to these people, they really don't give a toss. "Plenty more where they cam from" were his words.
Unfortunately its the women and the children who bear the brunt, as always.
Someone should have a quiet word with the likes of the Green Party and the protesters who have been campaigning for the Iranian regime to have the right to continue slaughtering the innocent.
Looking at you, Bristol, along with other s 🤬

I’m sorry your son was badly injured, I hope he managed to recover ok.

All these pseudo liberal useful idiots haven’t got a clue. It’s like they get a useful idiots welcome pack with a little Paddington Bear poster for their window saying “ migrants welcome (thank god we’re rich enough to live in an area you’ll never live though- but you’re welcome to come and live in other places), Palestine Flag, trans flag, Book on the history of Palestine since 1948. A book entitled “what did the English colonial bastards ever do for us” a Dummy’s guide to Double Think and some adverts for an SUV. Most likely to live in Bristol, a posh market town just outside London (in a period home), totnes, Glastonbury (other town with at least two shops selling witchy things) or totnes.

They don’t seem to be able to understand everything they scream about over here pales into insignificance compared to the countries/regimes they are defending. They simply just don’t seem to have a clue.

So you pick n chose what you believe?

There is no evidence 10s of 1000s were killed, large numbers yes & one killed is one too many.

The West interfering in other countries has no success, none at all, these countries need to be left to their own devices as much as possible, in Iran's case, the Nuclear element had to be addressed but not this mass bombing, all Trump has done is fuck up the worlds economy, including ours and will lead to many more deaths

Seems like quite a few Iranians didn’t want to be left to their own devices on this occasion and asked for help.

There are “quite a few” in every country who would like rid of their political leaders. Where does it end?

No one yet knows who fired the rocket. Do you have location details for the mass graves of the victims of the Islamic regime in Iran? The tens of thousands it killed in January even as a starter?

I’m not sure where it ends but a regime which kills tens of thousands of its own citizens for simply protesting over a couple of days seems a very good place to start.

This thread is absolutely disgusting. For the last two years we have seen the Israelis target every single hospital in Gaza and multiple schools. And then also do double tap attacks where they target the rescuers. And then you have people DENYING they targeted a school?

‘Why would the US or Israel target innocent civilians?’ Because they literally do it ALL THE TIME. At least 75,000 dead in Gaza - tens of thousands of which are children by Israel using American bombs?? Honestly no wonder the entire world can’t stand those two countries - because they cause the most destruction in the world and then their people think they are free and yet parrot everything they say yet think it’s everyone else that has no freedom of thought.

Absolutely agree. It's eye opening to read people's views and how many people trust the USA despite all the things they are doing to people on their own soil. I am the first to admit I am out of touch with the daily news so I won't give an opinion but to base anything on 'trusting one side over the other' in this case seems very flawed. What's happened to Gaza shows the worst of humanity and it feels like people have memory loss because Israel have teamed up with the "good guys". Trump is very good at distraction techniques and this is a great one for Israel...

You see I have a good memory and recall very well the massacre of innocents by Hamas (likely funded by Iran) when they stormed over the Israeli border from Gaza slaughtering, raping and kidnapping innocent civilians. Do you remember that?

By killing an easily replaceable 86 year old leader and murdering hundreds of civilians? Iran sure looks like its on the way to being bombed into peace and prosperity!

I don't think they were targeted at all. Whichever side did it, it's a horrible tragedy.

I agree. I think it was an accident whoever did it as my mind just can’t be that dark to assume someone bombed a school on purpose for no benefit.

Anyone remember the kidnapped Nigerian school girls?

Finding US and Israel evil doesn’t automatically mean approving of the Iranian regime..

Pp didn’t mention the Iranian regime though.
The original question was:

“But I am interested in hearing from those who are sure the US/Israel did it, on WHY they think they would target a school” “Do you think it was strategic? They are just evil?”

To which pp replied: and “Yes, the US and Israel are evil” and “look at the history of both countries”.
So why leave the Iranian regime and its history out completely?
